so lets get to the point of this TR
its my first one.
but deffinetly not my first cruise on disney :)
so yeah the cast:
MY DAD: yeah hes a disney dork. and an IT manager for scintific atlanta.(now cisco) he needs these cruises like a crazy person needs therapy.
MY DADS FIANCE(april) : she is amazing. works for SA too. she needs these breaks too. (even if she is very prone to motion sickness.)
MEEE: i love the magic from disney. period.
So i didnt know about this cruise.
not at all. :rolleyes1
so i thought we were going to Daytona.
I flew from dallas texas to orlando at about oh 6 oclock in the morning that sunday. Dad and April had driven from atlanta. and so my dad picked me up from the airport and we headed. except when i saw the signs for CAPE CANAVERAL i knew something was up.
we pulled into mc donalds for breakfast. April and dad got something. i just got a coffee. My dad looked over at me and goes i lied
me: about what?
dad: we really arnt going to daytona
me(in my mind YES YES YES WOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTT) :hmmm..
dad: we are going on a 4 night cruise to the bahamas and then to disney afterwards.
me : -smiles- yay.
dad: you really didnt know?
Me: no.
so thats the so amazing way i found out.
april and i went back to the car while dad got his food and watched a bird risk his life for a packet of ketchup. hahahah that was funny.
so we drove to the ship.
THE MOST AMAZING FEELING EVER IS SEEING THE WONDER (or the magic) FOR THE FIRST TIME OVER THE BRIDGE :)
oh.. :hyper: random moment..
so we park the car and head on in :)

we get into the terminal
after getting all our paperwork done we sit down.
i ask april if i can see the camera.
me- miss.april can i see your camera?
april-sure let me just find it (digs through bag)
dad- (looks up from playing mariocart) what you looking for?
april-the camera do you have it?
dad- noo..
april- we must have left it in the car..
dad- ill go look.
so my dad leaves and searches the car in the parking lot.
meanwhile me and april look in dads backpack.
sure enough its in the bottom pouch.
i call dad.
and since he got the iphone he can NEVER hear it ring.
and i call.
and i call.
he doesnt pick up.
now they are getting dangerously close to calling our number to get onboard.
i call again.
he finally picks up exasperated!
i cant find the camera
me-dad-
dad- did you find it?
me-yes. we did. and they are calling our number.
dad. oh well im behind you.
i reach into my pocket where i thought i had put my card.
nope not there...
er.. i think i left the card at the chairs
i tell april and run to where we were sitting. nope not there.
i start digging frantically in my bag.
WHERE COULD IT HAVE GONE?
i get to the last pouch and THANK GOD.
its there.
i run back to where april and dad are in line and we go to board the ship!

Ok, I have to admit I was rather excited for you when they told you where you were going. We have a similar situation for our kids. We plan to tell them we are going to the beach for the day and then decide to take cruise instead. I am not sure what type of reaction we will get, but I hope it is a positive one. Now, stop losing things.

i lose things quite easily...although i think thats the only 2 times we almost lost something on this cruise.
(on other cruises BOY i have lost a bunch of things XD)
so where was i.. OH we had just boarded. so we went to go get some lunch up at parrot cay.
after that we headed down to our room.
let me tell you from previous experiences. the rooms with the balconies are AMAZING. i know thats where dad and april spent most of their time.
so they wanted to hang in the room (nap time anyone?)
i on the other hand want to go take pictures. and explore.
i lOVE photography. so there would be more pictures except that its on miss aprils camera. and im still patiently waiting for those pictures to be in my possession.
(long story short why i didnt have my camera cause i usually glued to that thing. i couldnt find the charger before the trip. and turns out aprils charger is the same one as mine..so w/e. )
you know im on of the weird photographer girls whose always like crouching to get the PERFECT picture.
i got tired of the weird looks i was getting in the lobby of trying to get a good picture of the glass chandelier in the atrium.
so i went and got settled in one of those portholes near route 66.
and since it was the weekend and i had free minutes i called up my friend chris love. haha hes so much fun to talk to when your bored. i talked to him for awhile and lost him in the elevator back down to our room. i called him and told him id call him when i got home.i went to get in the elevator
i got on with a family with a son about my age. so i asked him if he was going up to aloft. and he goes yeah i am. so this turns out to be fredrick and we end up being good friends.
so we go hang out in aloft for about an hour.
i have to go back to the room for the safety drill and to check in.
so this is about 3 oclock and my dad declares i need a hair cut.
well acording to my parents divorce he cant get my hair cut with out asking my mom. so i call my mom and she says if i do anything drastic im dead meat. wooahh.. okay so my idea for a hair cut was out of mind.
my dad gets us an appointment for 7 that night.
we go to the drill thingy..and for some reason we are never outside.
we are always in animators palet. always in the air conditioning :)

i LOVE hearing the countdown and and 'when you wish upon a star' whistle
they started playing 'what time is it' and of course being the huge dork on that deck i started doing the dance.. people stared. oh well.
so i have totally blanked on what we did next...
err.. me and miss april went to the shopping thingy
(we had 8:30 seating)
we hung out in aloft.
played video games for awile.
i went back to the room and we headed up to vista spa.
the woman behind the counter gave us a tour while the hairstylist finished up with the appointment before us.
the gym is pretty nice.. to bad im too young to use it.

anywho! i went with the 13 year old from the other family to go get ice cream from the machine on the top deck (its my traditon)
we went back to dinner and i asked dad if i could go up to aloft.
i did.
we watched the counselers put on the house rules sketch
and the NO BUYING DRUGS lecture.
and gotcha rules :)( i recomend playing this game..its really fun.)
we got all set up for gotcha and took our pictures..
i was ROONIL WAZLIB.
(get the harrypotter joke? no one else did..)
it was getting late.
about 1:30?
and we started playing this game where we had to right down two things that are true about you and one false.
mine were
1. i have had plastic surgery.
2. i am terribly afriad of hights.
3. i like scremo music.
(which one is a lie??)
i had my written down and turned in.
there was like 5 people there.
one of them wyche.
one person i really enjoyed meeting XD
when the phone rang.
melissa answered it.
and goes is kalie up here?
i raised my hand.
and she handed me the phone.
i go hello?
dad: where are you?
me: aloft.
dad: you didnt call to check in.
me: oh.. i forgot.
dad: you need to call and check in.
me. okay.sorry.
dad. when are you coming back?
me: um well when this game is finsihed. we are almost done.
dad:...(silence)
me: uh....now im coming now.
i hang up the phone and grab my jacket
Me: got to go to bed.
err..be back tommrow.
i go to hit the elevator button on the aloft elevator.
(btw these take FOREVER to get up there. i recomend going down a floor and trying to catch it there. or better yet. walk.)
i relize its not coming and dash down those stairs.
(i got some pretty weird looks trying to run down)
i ran down to deck 6
thats 5 flights of stairs...
i start running down a random hallway.

i turn around and head back the other way.
i get to the room and open it silently as possible.
my dad is sitting reading and april is asleep.
my dad has this errrie calm voice.
he said he was disapointed in me. so i told him i would call to check.
so i went to go get all cleaned up for bed.
i went to sleep. :P

got on the elevator( and the irony is that fredrick and his family were on that elevator too..) so me and fredrick walked on the deck over to aloft from palo.
TIP: your not supossed to go get your gotcha victim before twelve..evidentally there are youngsters in there.. fred went to meet his family and i headed back to breakfast.
my dad is obsessed with jewlery shopping.
so one day of every cruise is dedicated to jewlery shopping.
(even though this year we just looked)
since there is no jewlery shopping in castaway cay BING bahama day it is.
we get off the boat and the first thing dad sees is a starbucks.
and off we go to jewlery shop.
after awile my feet start to hurt.
owww...(we went in my stores sparatically like coach del sol and someother stores that i got gifts for my loved ones back home.)
i remember going into the coach store and seeing this amazing purse/ wallet thing. the one i wanted was 78 dollars.. woahhh to much.
i saw another one that was 48.. more in my range.
on ward to shop some more! one of the last stores we went to was little switzerland and my dad got me this really nice swartizkie( haha sp) crystal pink necklace with a leather chain. so we went in another store and dad looked at these hearts on fire diamonds.
when we came out i said something about my feet. and miss.april said since i had couperated so much that she was going to pay for half that coach bag i wanted :) yay..

ohhhhhh okay. i guess ill just keep postin :(
so we boarded back and i went up to aloft while dad and april went to hang byt he pool. there was only a few people who had gotten back so we did a scavenger hunt.
i dont remember who was on the other teamm but i do remember that the people who were on my team were fred wyche and me. it was hold the phone i think?
where we ran around the ship and having to find the answers to questions.
using the phones to call back up to aloft.
fun game.
until we realized that there was no way we were gonna win. we were SUPER behind. oh well.
still fun. the running track was hilarous. we were sent to find out how many lifeboats were on board. so we were walking around the deck 4 and we were about to where the running track goes in the bow. (we still dont know if we were supposed to be in there.)
so i go..i dunno if were supposed to be here man.. i turn around and take off running. i guess fred got my hint and ran after me.
wyche..not so much.. you could hear him yelling after us. i rounded the corner and hid in the stairway. fred saw me and hid in the same place.
we were both fighting back giggles.
we waited to see if he was going to find us.
but he never came. clueless.. we wondered around then got ice cream.
got the hint that we might want to call up to aloft to see if they had seen him.
i told fred to go find him. i would figure out the next clue.
tip-dont ever leave your group in a scavanger hunt. igot lost. and i have been on these cruises TONS of times. i was wondering around near the disney vacation club desk when i caught a glimpse of something black.. it was wychee..trying to scare me. sigh. i let out an ear peircing scream. he had scared me..even though i had seen him.
so we were both stunned it was that loud.
he got over it and shook my shoulder come on! they havent won yet!
the havent won...wow...
we were WAY behind.
oh well we started running again..
as i was running i was counting the lifeboats
wyche: why are you doing that?
me: well we still dont know the answer

so my computer is making me want to haul it and throw it off a cliff. i had the whole next entry typed. and safari FROZE. and so i lost it all. ALL OF IT.

okay they are the exact same price in the us as they are in bahamas. i was on coaches website. and that thing is so small all it held was my room key ipod (origional white nano) and my cell. i was just looking at those for awhile and decided to get it. its just that the sales tax in dallas is super high. so i didnt want to pay the (8.25) more on the origional 48 dollars.
on with my story.
it was formal night.
so my mom had 'slipped' in a dress from my cousins wedding.
(oh side note. i figured out why my feet hurt so much from the walking in Nassau i wore vans..which reminds me of a game we played on the first night. my shoes won most interesting. i dont know why but the winner's shoes were thrown up over the rafters. and i dont know if you know about vans. they are BOARDING shoes so they are on the heavy side. so when scott threw mine up it landed perfectly on the rafter. and i had JUST gotten those vans. they are super coolhttp://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm275/wonderbreadPEACE/6901-438565-d.jpg( cept mine are black around the edge cause i put black electircal tape on them) so he had to go get a stick and stand on the couch and hit it until it came down. im a slight control freak so when things get slightly out of control (like my new shoes stuck in a rafter) i was like OHHHHHHH JEEEZ MY MOMM IS GONNA KILL MEOH JEEZE. he got them down and i was okay..okay on sorry for my rant)

(love disney cant stand the people who dress up in the coustumes =shudders= scary.)
oh before we wanted a picture with the backdrop up stairs. so when we were coming down i was standing next to the elevator and talking to dad. and just guess who steps out of the elevator wyche. (im sorry if he seems to come up alot..i was developing a slight crush on this dude. he he..
:lovestruc so haha i turned bright red and said hi and he goes hi.and smiles then walks off. we actually were 'together' for about 3 months then we had a huge fight..stoped talking to each other for awhile. then started talking again.. then had another fight.and now we arent speaking again.:( :( )
sorry if it gets annoying.. :)we got in the elevator and my dad goes under his breath.. the way guys are looking at you these days im gonna have to be punching sombody out. and miss april starts laughing hysterically...and goes you punching somebody out..hahahahha
me i was all emberressed about the whole thing. so :eek:
we eat dinner..which was VERY good. in tritions. and i head out early and go get changed back in the room.

while we were waiting to sing unwritten we went to go play ping pong near the bow.

we were HORRIBLE.
it was funny cause she hit one so high towards me it went off the side....
whoops.. i told her if that ship sank i blamed her.
we laughed and ran cause we were afraid we were gonna get introuble for it going overboard..(idk..)
went back to aloft and we sang (all of us that were left OVER MY HEAD. by the fray...awesome song.)
i headed down to bed cause i knew castaway cay was the next day.

to tell you what we did in random times in the stack: we played videogames bored games. scavenger hunts.
and the game gotcha is funner when your on the longer cruises. cause on this one i killed my victim..then he lied and said he wasnt dead. so i had to get another victim..(which looks suspeciously like you DS jdblair..) and i guess i was the one who won..cause we just stoped playing eventually.
so i went down to bed..and got some sleep..this was around like 1:30. i got back late everynight.

DS isn't here right now to ask him questions but I know he did Karoke, some hunt, video games, and "hung out." I think he and his "group" liked having the ability to grab pizza and drinks any time they wanted. It really meant a lot to me that he had fun on the cruise because I was really worried he'd be bored. When we started talking about a vacation for 2009, I suggested Disney World. DS asked "Why can't we go back on the cruise?" So, it's the cruise we're going back to. He'll be 15 1/2 when we sail again. Do you think he'll still have just as much fun on the Stack?

I think it's really neat your dad takes you on these cruises when you visit with him. :goodvibes

this one was my 4th.
i know what you mean about the RCL people arnt as nice.
my dad swears up and down he will never go back to disney to give money to the mouse again. but he loves it to much.. keeps going back.
the first disney cruise i went on i was turning 13 on it.
and this one i was 14.
and its possible we might go back late july.
so i will be 15.
i met some really great people that i wont ever forget on this cruise.
im sure he will enjoy it :)

im trying to update quick. cause you know its summer..and that pre ap chem. list is a daunting length..
OKAY CASTAWAY CAY!
we got up that morning. and i put my swimsuit on underneath my clothes and put sunscreen on in the room we went up to parrot cay and got some breakfast.
we got off the ship and walked to the family beach.
that is a doozy of a walk..
i brought my postcards to my best friend and mom but the post office wasnt open yet. so i had to wait. we actually found a pretty nice place.
leaving the places closer to the beach for the familys with youngsters.
the water was COLLLDDDDDDD BRRR..
and no matter how pretty the water is ( that is the prettiest place ive seen..ever) i will not get in if its cold. under any circumstances.
so i holed up with a book under the umbrella with my Ipod blaring.
(i listen to music wayy loud. most of my music is either scremo/metal/punk/piano/or acuostic.) so useally you can hear it from a while away. we got lunch and that was exceptional
:) im a disney lover.
when we headed back to the chairs dad and april wanted to go to to serenity bay. (i am now regreting not going to wild side...)
i sat in the sun for along time. falling in and out of sleep with my ipod still on high.
i did put sunscreen on..but evidentally i forgot to put it on in two places:
my face. and my chest.
greeeeeeaaaat.
when dad and april got back we packed it up and headed back to the ship.
dad and april raved about the adult beach.
dad says all i needed was one of my cousins harvard shirts and i could have passed for a college student..
april rolled her eyes.
OHH and on the tram to serenity bay there was a family of 3 on the tram and they relised they were on the wrong tram.
and the dad wanted them to jump (they were my age..?)
the first girl jumped and landed.
well..the second one the dad pushed her cause she didnt want to.. she was hurt bad.
the dad got off alright.
the little med. cart pulled up and got her.
all she was wearing was soffes a tank top and flip flops.
so it hurt..bad.
dad and april were shocked and slightly angry

why would you push your daughter off a moving tram like that!

This is a great TR! Ditto everybody else that it's super interesting to hear more about what goes on in The Stack since I never got a chance to try out any of the teen stuff. I was allowed on the adult beach though! These are the trade-offs I have to deal with for being 19 :)

im so sorry i havent posted in awhile.
alot of stuff happened to me before school got out this year and i held up then. but it caught up and
ive been really kinda depressed and didnt feel like coming on.
im mucho better now.

coming back on board the boad we kinda just chilled.
we did some scavenger hunts.
all the same.
talking to wyche again.
we are friends
freaked me out when he called me last night during addision fireworks.
i went to vans warped tour yesterday
it was so inspiring.
the pj party..
we watched de je vu? (spspspsps)
and i talked to larry pond through the whole thing.
i nodded off a few times.
i thought i might throw this in
that twister moves game
sucks.
its awful
terrible
we played it after kareoke ( im now just remembering this lol)
and it was like me cj wyche emilie and james
wyche tried once
then sat back down
i tried to keep up..and im a dancer so it should have been easy.
they tried the WORST moves on this game
it was awful.
i gave up and went back to my room.
ADD MOMENT OVER
we all tried to fit in an elevator
since it takes SO long for them to come.
we managed.
i think we were all half asleep.
lol.
hope this is enough for tonight.
im dead tired.
