I had to fill up this evening. I assumed the strike had been called off becuase the forecourt was very quiet. I guess I was just lucky.

Dh filled up at our local morrisons this morning at 7.30am and the queue was tailed back to the road, as he was white lining it he had to sit it out. We went up tonight to get some food shopping and they had a lady directing the queues

Its just typical!!
Going to pick my new car up on saturday! At this rate there will be no fuel left by then. Had to put £10:rotfl2: (I remember when that lasted me a week or two) to see me through till saturday, and had to queue for 15mins for that.:confused3 I worked at apetrol station during the first fuel strike many yeas ago, talk about fights for the pumps!!!

I think we should blame the media for all the scaremongering that they do with regard to fuel strikes etc, if they aren't going on about the housing crash or the credit crunch it's the fuel strikes. DH's car will only run on Shell V Power (it's tuned especially to do so) so that will be a problem for us. But there is no need to go flying out to every petrol station under the sun to fill up "just in case" that is what will cause the shortages!
Right I am now stepping down from my soap box! :)

If the governement don't cut the tax on the fuel then I think there could be more strikes coming. I know the Shell one is over pay & apparently the monopoly on the drivers have gone, so any compnay will be able to deliver their. Word of warning though, i'm pretty sure Shell supply fuel for one of the major supermarkets, so they may become affected.
My local Sainsburys was a bit busy on the forecourt, but that is nothing unusual. Having said that they have been running out of diesel for quite a few weeks now.

It said on the news that 1 in 10 petrol stations would be affected.
