Chicago Area Wall.e Meet!!

:yay: :yay: Come one, come all to the Chicago, and surrounding area, DISers Summer Meet to see the new Pixar movie Wall.E!! :yay: :yay:

This meet is open to everyone and all are welcome to come....singles, couples, families, kids, friends.....who ever you are, come out and have fun with us! :)



Meet will be held at the Yorktown AMC Theatre in Lombard.
Exit Highland Ave off of the 88 East-West Tollway.

Lunch will follow at the mall in the food court area. Lots of seating is available and several different food options to choose from.

Ok, for some reason the poll is closing on an earlier date then what I chose it to do??? :confused3
I was going to have it close on the 25th.

The only date that absolutley doesn't work for us, even though I put it in the poll for all to choose from, is Saturday July 12th.

I am not going to vote, because many of those dates work for me. There are four that I can not do; June 29th, July 5, July 12 and July 13.

LOL - I voted before I read the thread! The only weekend I'll be around is July 12th-13th. I'll be at WDW the last weekend in June, in Michigan the July 4th weekend, in FL again the weekend of July 19th, and in Alaska beginning July 24th!

Several dates work for me too. So, the dates I know I CAN'T make it are June 28 & 29 and July 26. There's a possibility we have something on either July 19 or 20 but, I can't remember what it is right now. :rolleyes1

I can't make it the last weekend of June (all the 4th of July festivities are in our town)

I have so many dates that are iffy, because of possible things that could be going on. July 5th is not good for me (I'm recovering my house from our big 4th of July party).

We're pretty flexible, the weekend of 7/12, 13 would be our last choice though as DH will be out of town that weekend.

I went with a Sunday because I know some of you work on Saturdays.
I know this won't work for some of you.
And I'm sure others will not want to wait and will go see the movie prior to the meet! :) (Just don't spoil it for the rest!! :ssst: ) ...but please come see it again and join us!!


We'll have to wait for that week's movie schedule to come out to pick an exact time.
But I was thinking late morning/noon-ish, like we've done before, and then lunch afterwards at the food court in the mall. Or we can do an afternoon movie time, like somewhere between 2 to 4pm-ish, and then dinner at the food court. Either way is good!

I'll be accompanying Flash as the fiance. I was rather excited about this, this morning - always nice to have something to look forward to on a Monday!

We'll be there from the 14th-27th - We're staying a few nights at Coronado, getting married at Sea Breeze (Boardwalk) and then the "honeymoon" is an AKV studio.

If you've never stayed at AKL before, you will love it!!!!!! The smells inside the lobby from the fireplace and outside by the firepit are wonderful. My daughter and I can still imagine what it smells like. There is a building at Brookfield Zoo near the giraffes that, as soon as you walk in, you can smell the AKL.
The lobby is beautiful. All the artwork is amazing. And the CMs are wonderful there. Be sure to mention on check in that you are there honeymooning. They will make your stay amazing!!!
If it weren't for wanting to try new places, I would always go back there. The bus service was terrific.

We've never even stayed on property! This'll be our first time. We actually had reservations at POR-FQ, but we changed them at the last minute because we could get an AP discount at CSR. We're really looking forward to it, the atmosphere looks very nice.

As I said, it's our first time on property. I have to admit, staying here is one of the things we're looking forward to the most. We've looked at some pictures of the lobby and rooms, and WOW is all I have to say. Disney did such an amazing job with the theming - we can't wait to see it in person.

Mhy work schedule is finally posted...:sad1: I work on Sunday! I can offer it as a trade, but I doubt anyone will take it. It isn't very good money for the lunch shift! I could request off since I will be gone the 4-13th for the hmoon!

Right now they have an 11am time for this week. I was thinking of going with that time if it's still the same, or close to it, and then everyone meet for lunch. :)

For anyone who's interested though.....any movie before 12noon is only $5 as opposed to the regular matinee price of $7.75.

Movie time is for 11:00am with lunch to follow in the food court at the mall across the street.
Remember this is at the AMC 17 theatre (17 screens), not the AMC Premium 1(which has only 1 screen). :thumbsup2 We don't want anyone going to the wrong place. ;)
There is a Disney store in the mall too, located near the food court! :) ...for those interested.

I have this sign I made ages ago that says 'DIS MEET' on it but I think DH packed it up with a lot of stuff that is in the walk in closet of our office. I need to have him find it. If he does I'll bring it to the movie theatre so all the people who have not met any of us yet will have something to recognize!! ;)


We will probably be there by at least 10:30 standing past the ticket area closer to the concessions. :thumbsup2
