Our Merriest Everest Christmas Photo TR 2007

Hey Everyone!

My DS (12) thought of our name ~ this was actually the trip of a LIFETIME for us. Because we had always wanted to visit during the Christmas Season, but we never had the self-control to wait until Christmastime. I always thought that we were going to sneak a second trip in :thumbsup2 for Christmas time!! Yet, DH never felt that we could budget this.

Yet, 2007 was the year that we actually did it! We FINALLY waited all year long to go! It was an AMAZING experience and we had always planned to do a TR, but we have not yet made the time. Now it is summer and we are ready to do this. I remember about this time last year we were making the ADR's and we were LOVING all the Christmas pictures, so we thought we would share our memories with you.

This was the moment it happened...it was time to leave and we were so sad~ I knew that this trip was not the once in a lifetime trip that I had thought it would be!

It was on this trip in 1999 ~ that we all caught the Disney bug and we have never been the same since. We had visited some friends that suggested that we take our son (3 at the time) to WDW. We said (my FAVORITE thing that people always say to me now :rotfl2: ) "Shouldn't we wait until he is a little older?" They asked us why ~ and I did not have an answer. So, we decided why not? We scheduled a trip for the Fall of 1999 and it has truly been one of the most enriching opportunities for our family that I could ever dream of.

Here are some memories of our first trip. We now have 3 children that I will introduce later, but at the time we had our first son we will call "Goofy". Goofy is now 12 and LOVES WDW and the Disboards. He is into pin trading and LOVES to help plan our trips. He loves to play basketball, baseball, and is always ready to have a fun no matter what the circumstances. He is truly a joy to our family. His favorite characters are Mickey, Stitch, Goofy, Chip, Dale, Max, and Pluto. (Just to name a FEW;)

This is Eeyore and myself on our first trip when we were just a little bit younger :rotfl:

Then we were blessed with our little baby daughter that we will call "Giselle". She has been going to WDW every year since she was born! She has the sweetest and most gentle nature and is a true blessing to our family. Her favorite characters our Minnie and Giselle. Here are some pictures of her throughout the years.

This is one of my favorite memories ~ I paid $200 for the Sleeping Beauty tea party and she got there and told me that she would rather go ride rides with her brother. :confused3 Kids are always so honest! Just LOOK at her expression!

We were blessed with our next little bundle, that we will call Jack-Jack for obvious reasons! He is a baby who knows what he wants and has no problem asserting his opinion. :banana: He is now 2 and is a joy to our family. He is really the "family's baby". Everyone takes care of him and LOVES him so much!

So this is us. We are excited to share our memories with all of our friends on the Dis. You have given us so much enjoyment and we hope that our family can be a part of this as well.

Next up : The beginning of our 2007 Christmas vacation ~ I cannot wait.

Oh my goodness I forgot to introduce Eeyore. He is the coolest husband ever because HE LOVES WDW. He is an avid golfer and plays every chance that he gets. He never hesitates to listen to my constant obsessing over our trips. Well, almost never! We call him Eeyore because his personality is a lot like his (in a GOOD way).

As far as me, I am a Disney fanatic. I am currently in graduate school getting a master's in counseling. I LOVE meeting new people and feel so blessed to be raising these three little ones. Every day is a gift and I try to make the most out of everyday.

The day had finally come that we had waited for! We had been planning this trip for 9 months and guess who was behind on packing? Yes, you are right. Me, I am so unorganized about packing. It seems like such a big job so I tend to put it off. Eeyore does not understand this:lmao: . He does not understand how I can plan trips for months and then be running like a crazy woman right before. I an understand why this frustrates him because it is ridiculous. Anyway, I have made the decision that I will not do this on the next trip.

So, literally at the last minute we were ready to drive to Dallas. We fly out of Dallas which is under 3 hours from where we live because the flights are so much cheaper. Our non-stop flight left at 7 a.m. on Airtran so we actually left the night before. We were staying at a Park/Sleep/Fly hotel that gave us a great rate and took us to the airport. Our shuttle driver was SO nice ! we will stay there on our next trip also.

We were all so excited that we could barely contain ourselves. Our flight was on time and we were off. We had the privilege to meet the nicest family on the airplane. They were grandparents, a mother, and a little boy. I wish that I had taken their picture. One of my favorite things about traveling to WDW is the nice people that we have met. After we got off the plane, they helped me in line at the Magical Express (while my husband took the kids to the restroom). Jack-Jack was on the verge of throwing a fit and the mother took him around and entertained him. These are the kind of people that just really make you feel good.

We were finally on our way to the All Star Movies! We LOVE this resort so much. Sure, we dream of staying at the Poly some time and I hope one year we will be able to. Yet, the Movies holds such wonderful memories for us. We have never had any sort of problem there and really cannot say that we have even waited for a bus too long.

We quickly got all checked in and made our way to the MK! It is a tradition that we go there first and eat dinner at the Crystal Palace.

I cannot tell you the way that we felt as we walked through those gates! It is like Christmas every day there and this time, literally, it was Christmas. The park was just absolutely breathtaking. It was still daytime, so we could not see the castle all lit up yet.

WE quickly headed to Fantasyland, because we were so excited to let Jack Jack ride some rides. It is so fun for all of us to experience the parks through his eyes. We were able to get a lot of rides in ~ Pooh, Peter-Pan, Snow White, IASW, and our FAVORITE Philharmagic.

Then we were REALLY hungry so we decided to walk on over to Crystal Palace even though we were early. WE were delighted when they were able to quickly let us in!

I apologize, because I did not take food pictures. We thought the food was excellent as it always is! This is my favorite buffet at WDW!

It was so worth the wait~ we stared at it for some time!

The kids were so ready to head through Adventureland and then to Frontierland to ride their favorites. We rode POC on the way and Jack-Jack really liked it. We then went over to SM and BTMR. The kids LOVE being able to do rider swap with the baby, because they actually get to ride the rides twice:thumbsup2 .

Jack-Jack had some much needed playtime at the playplace under SM.

WE finally decided that it was time to go back to the resort for some much needed rest ~ We were set to be at MGM for rope drop the next morning- Would we make it???

Dear Tigerkat,

It looks like from your signature that you are going to see the castle all lit up again this year. It is amazing, isn't it. We were planning to go in November this year, but our friends (who have never been to Disney) received one of the highly desired 40% off pin. They have 4 children, so they decided to get 2 value rooms. They invited us to go with them and to use their pin, but I told them that we could go when they went but that we could not use their pin because it was only for them. When I called and made their ressie for them I made a joke that I sure wished that I could use their pin. The CM said that they could actually book 3 rooms- so we were able to book a room at 40% off. It was really great!

We even had the opportunity to use it at a different resort than they did (just as long as our stays overlapped) so we had initially booked the Contemporary. I have wanted to stay at a deluxe for some time and our friends did not care at all. But, we really did not feel right about it - we felt that we should stay at the same resort as them.

So, hopefully we will again have the opportunity to stay deluxe again:)

I am looking forward to the rest of your trip report. We are going in Dec the 7-16th. I was like you the 1st time we went in 2005 for my daughters 3rd birthday, I thought it would be once in a lifetime, or at least we wouldnt go back for a LONG time. But WE LOVED it. So we went again for her 5th bday, so both times we have went in Sept. So we decided to change it up and see what it is like for the holidays. I cant wait, and seeing other peoples trip reports makes the time go by a little faster.

I do not know when they go up either! I hope that they will be up when you go. Do they have MVMCP that early? I do not know. We watched a Disney special on the travel channel and there was a woman saying that the first couple of November were the best kept secret!

I think I would like to go at that time next year.

I got to excited too early last year and other people's TRs were the only thing that kept me going:rotfl2: I was calling "Disney Family meetings" in April. My husband was a little worried about me:rotfl:

I think you made the right decision to experience the holidays at WDW. I am so glad that we did it! We have been in Sept. before too and it will surely be cooler in December- that was really nice.

Thanks so much for the compliment about my little ones ~ they are the light of my life. I know your little daughter is too! I LOVE your story. You got hooked just like we did. It is such an amazing experience. I met a mother years ago at the BBB in DD. She was crying, so I went to talk to her. I quickly learned that these were tears of joy. She had bonded so much with her daughters during the time that she was there. She said it was almost like a spiritual experience for her. I have never forgotten the few moments that we spent talking. I understand what she is saying. Sometimes life is so busy, it is so nice to step back and take some time to let go of it all.

Also, sadly I do not sew. I buy everything on eBay. It has been so much fun!

Sounds great! We absolutely LOVE having you along! I understand not wanting to leave home during the holidays, while I LOVED it so much and I am so glad that we went, I did miss being at home for this week during the Christmas season also. Does that make sense?

There is nothing like waking up at WDW! It makes us all so very happy. I LOVE turining on the t.v. and seeing our good friend Stacey! My DH always gets up and brings me my morning coffee and it makes me smile.

I am sad to report that we were really dragging this morning:( There was no way that we were going to make it to rope drop- but we were going to be really close.

We made it to MGM just in time to meet up with some of our favorite characters!

Then we were off to do some pin trading. This was our first official pin trade ~ how exciting is this! This is one of the wonderful things that we picked up from reading other people's TR's on the boards. We had seen the pins throughout the years, but had never been really that interested in them. Now both Goofy and Giselle are collectors and it has been so much fun for them.

After trading, we were off to ride some of our favorite rides. We rode RNR, TOT (everyone but me and Jack-Jack - this ride scares me:scared1: , but I MAY ride it later in the trip) ST, GMR, and were able to see a lot of shows as well. It was so perfect. I must say I was surprised at how hot it was. We also had lunch at the ABC comissary.

Much of the day was filled with the anticipation of the Osborne lights. Year after year I have looked at the pictures of lights on allearsnet and have dreamed of seeing them. Finally, tonight was the night and we were all thrilled.

We had dinner ressies at the Sci-Fi. This is a place that I had wanted to try for some time. I am sad to say that it was just okay for me:confused: I ordered the pasta and I was told by a friend that the sandwiches are what are really good here :rotfl: So PLEASE don't hold it against them! Anyway, I am glad that we had the experience there, but I probably will not return.

Much to my happiness it was dusk when we left and we approached the Osborne Lights.

We were about to witness one of the most amazing things that we have ever seen.

Oh my! The atmosphere as you enter the Osborne lights is so hard to describe with words. To us, it was like a whole different world. It far exceeded our expectations. To me, people all around us were in awe also. I kept hearing people commenting - this is unbelievable!

And the snow, somehow in all my reading I had never seen that there is snow there. How did I miss this?

We stayed there for a good long time and had the opportunity to visit with others and it was truly the highlight of our trip.

We decided to head back to the resort as we were really tired. I took some shots on the way out of MGM that are below.

We made it back to the hotel and the kids really wanted to go to the arcade. This has been a tradition for several years. Eeyore takes them while I get Jack-Jack down for the night. When Giselle was smaller, Goofy and Eeyore would go for some male bonding time. Sometimes Giselle and I would go and "spy" on them in the arcade. Those are some really happy memories.

I was so great to meet you all. We have done two more trip reports since then and are starting a third. (It's been a big Disney year. It's slowing down now.)

I have to admit, we really do LOVE the Movies resort. One of the things that I love about it are the masses of people there. WHAT??!!! I know it sounds strange and I read the boards and I completely understand that everyone likes different things on their vacations. The large number of people is what a lot of people DO NOT like about the values. (and I completely get that)That is one of the many great things about WDW ~ there is a perfect resort for every family.

Anyway, I LOVE coming back and seeing all the people that are having a fun time with their families.

I am so glad that I put your mind at ease. I can talk about the Movies forever so I am going to limit this...:rotfl2: but, the resort really is wonderful. I have read a lot of the complaints about them and I feel bad for the people who had the expereience, but I have never seen any of it. We have never had any sort of problem at all. I hope that is your experience as well:love:

One more thing, I helped my SIL and her family with a trip last October. I REALLY encouraged them to stay deluxe, because they travel a lot and I thought they might be dispoointed in the values. But, they did not want to pay over $300 a night for a hotel room. They LOVED the resort. They did not have one complaint. They did not even understand why I hesitated!

Once again, we did not quite make rope drop:lmao: I LOVE how I plan all these months and my plans never completely work out! It is STILL so much fun to plan, though:love:

We made a mad dash to the Nemo ride. We had never ridden it and it was just ADORABLE!

Then we were off to ride all our faves...the lines to Test Track and Soarin were not too bad and we were able to ride them a few times.:goodvibes

Then we were off to do something fun that we had been secretly planning for some time. We just found the Dis boards in about April of 2007. Goofy and I have LEARNED so much about things we were missing in the parks. One of the things that we did not know about was Club Cool and the infamous Beverly! Goofy had been telling his dad over and over about how GOOD the Beverly was:lmao: I was worried that DH was catching on, but he was not, he had no clue.

This was priceless! You have to try the Beverly when you are in EPCOT for sure.

We usually go back to the hotel for a swim and a break, but this time we decided to stay in EPCOT. The temperature was so mild that day and we enjoyed all the different holiday activities in the World Showcase. One of the things we enjoyed the most were the different Santa Clauses from around the world.

Jack-Jack made a friend during one of these presentations- it was a special memory for us.

We have always brought our babies, but I totally understand people who do not. Several of my Disney crazy (like us) friends leave their babies when they are little with family and they have a great time. I have never been able to, I just want my whole family there together. But, I can see both sides on this.

I am so right there with your Christmas dream- I hope ya'll get to go! We pull our kids out of school. I have never had any problem doing it. It is a little easier now, because my kids go to a small Christian school. We went from Dec 1-9 last year. The crowds were fine ~ not as great as I had expected, but not bad. Everything that I had read had made me think it would be a lot less crowded.

Jack-Jack just LOVES the Pooh ride ~ He was such a trooper through this whole trip ~ he was exhausted, but he just kept going!

The boys wanted to ride Space Mountain. This always causes a problem for Giselle, because we felt that she was too young to ride it. (We learn later in the trip that we were really wrong about that :rotfl2: ) So, I promised Giselle a new pin while they went to ride. Then one of those proud parent moments happened (they can be arguing one moment and hugging the next ;) Giselle saw a pin that her brother had been looking to trade for in order to complete a set. She got so excited and decided to trade one of her pin's for him.

We woke up and it was MY BIRTHDAY in WDW!

DH brought me my morning coffee and I was in heaven. It was the PERFECT day ~ it was even a little cool, which I really liked! I was surprised at how warm it had been throughout the trip so far. This was a REALLY big day for us, because it was our FIRST MVMCP!

We decided to take TGM's advice and take it easy this day until the Christmas party tonight.

One of our favorite memories at Philharmagic is when Goofy was younger, I do not remember exactly what age. He sat in the seat C-9. He told us after the show that HIS seat was unbelievable ~ that the things actually popped out at him! We thought that was so adorable, so we always try to get C-9 when we go. I know people do not understand this, because they ask you to move to the end of the row when filing in. We cannot always get it, but we try!

The pin trading has added SO much fun. We really love it so very much. My kids are on eBay all the time looking at pins ~ it keeps the magic alive. It can be expensive, but we try to space it out. There are a lot of good deals on eBay.

Please have breakfast on Main Street ~ you will be AMAZED at what you can get with a snack credit. It is like we get three meals when we do it this way.

The birthday night had finally come after hours of scouring the Dis for suggestions on where to spend the evening. Chef Mickey's was chosen and it did not disappoint. To me, this place is so much fun. I love the energy that CM's has. It is pretty good food, not AMAZING, but very good and so worth it to me.

We were so excited :banana: As we walked up to CM, a cast member stopped me by name and said she had a phone call for me. I was flabbergasted by how she knew my name and it was a special birthday wish from Mickey. I then realized that I had a birthday button on with my name on it. LOL ~ It was so NICE of her to do that.

This was the event that I had dreamed of for years ~ MVMCP! WE were finally here and it was my 36th birthday. It does not get any better for us that this.

Giselle is helping me with this installment wants to be in charge of adding the smileys :tinker: . So here it goes...

We walked up main street and it was such an incredible experience. The snow, the lights, the music, and all the people. It was packed out this night, let me tell you. But, that was okay it just did not matter. We were so happy pooh:

We woke up the next morning and we were off to the AK. We just LOVE Everest ~ I think it is my favorite thrill ride. I don't know though, it is just so hard to say. We rode Everest several times and also road Dinosaur ~ which is so scary to me!

Then it was off to our favorite lunch spot, Flame Tree Barbeque. We have a long history here ~ Let me explain ~ it seems like we argue everytime we come here :lmao: It is not the place, we really like it. I think it is that AK is just really hot and we are a family that does not really like being hot ~ even though Eeyore never seems to mind it on the golf course.

So we have a tradition of making our kids hug at the flame tree. I will share a few pics of this...

I'll bet you know where you can find them ~ WDW!!! They were in pretty much all the gift shops last year that had jewelry. I think we got these at MGM, but we also saw them at the hotel gift shop.

The BBB is such a special place, it really is. We are having a Giselle Enchanted Curtain Dress made for her this year to wear there. Have you seen Enchanted? I cannot wait:)

We hopped over to the MK to go to the Bippity Boppity Boutique ~ this was our first visit to the one at the castle. We let Eeyore and Goofy go off and ride some rides, while Princess Giselle was being pampered.

I know how a visit here makes me feel as an adult, so I cannot imagine how it must feel to a little girl.

Here is Giselle, before they got started. I have a funny memory about this picture. When I showed these to her PaPaw he saw this one (where she had not been made up yet) and said how BEAUTIFUL she looked. I thought that was so precious. When I showed him the other pics, he still preferred this one. I guess he was not too impressed with the "Diva Do" that she always picks out :banana: She is the apple of her PapPaw's eye.

I met the nicest lady while we were at the BBB. She was there with her grandaughters who were getting made up there. She told me that her son and daughter in law both worked for Disney and that Disney was "all they knew". She said that they never get tired of it. I thought that was so cute.

Then it was off to the Princess Storybook Dinner at Akerhaus with my little princess:)

One adorable thing that I remember about this dinner was how cute Jack-Jack was. He knew the princesess were "somebody". He got so excited when he saw them walking around and he smiled and waved to them.

We then toured EPCOT for the evening. We watched the Candlelight Processional, which was really moving.

We were walking out of Fantasyland and I spotted a Diser. Goofy and I love to read TR's together and we knew we had spotted Nutz4WDW. Anyway, we had really enjoyed this families TR and we were so thrilled to meet them. I introduced myself to her and told her how much we enjoyed her TR's. I was happy to be able to wish her a happy birthday as she was celebrating her birthday.

Next, it was off to watch the parade. This parade has so many happy memories for us. Jack-Jack was just mesmorized by the parade.

Then it was time for dinner at 1900 Park Faire. I just LOVE this place, I have read a lot of bad reviews on the dis boards though. We think that it is one of the BEST buffets. The addition of the step-sisters is HILARIOUS.

This dinner was scrumptious and so very fun. We then went out and enjoyed the GORGEOUS Christmas decor at the Grand Floridian ~ one day, I tell you we are going to stay there:flower3:

Then we decided that our children were too rambunctious in the lobby. There was the most gorgeous classical Christmas music being played on the piano. We were just so sure that we were sticking out like sore thumbs:lmao:
