View Full Version : Should I switch from CSR?

We have ressies at CSR from 4/19-23. I just called the resort to inquire about any large groups that were scheduled for that time, and was told that there is a "very large" (CM's words) IBM training convention taking place while we are supposed to be there.
My question is, will a "very large" convention put a damper on my hotel stay? Should I consider switching resorts? It would have to be to either CBR or POR due to the discounts that we received (only good for value or moderate resorts, and we don't want to stay at the All Stars this time).
Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated! :)

DON'T WORRY!!! Seriously. When we were at CSR, there was a "very large" computer security convention. The only place you saw the conventioners was around the food court. It never affected us at all. CSR is our favorite - you will love it!!!

Hello, I am going through the same thing right now. We are traveling the end of June and I can switch from CSR to PO-FQ but I am so undecided about what to do as I don't want to be around the business type atmosphere either  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Well, if there is a large convention, then the pools won't be as crowded during the days---:D...however, expect the food court to be pretty crowded. If you are looking for a more intimate experience, then you may be happier changing your ressie to PO-FQ. It is smaller, more compact, quieter, and you won't have to worry about "those business types" on your vacation!

We were ast CSR 3/23 - 3/29 and there were a few groups meeting there, but you really can hardly tell. You'll see a few people in business attire, mostly around El Centro.
The resort is beautiful and we loved the pool.

Thanks for all the info everyone. I think we are going to stay at the CSR as it looks so beautiful and my dd (8) said she wants to stay there. I think she likes the way the pool looks and the mexican theme. I'll let you all know after 6/22 how we liked it.
