I miss their old ginerbread display and liked it much better than this one. It was a display of a boardwalk with a ferris wheel, rollercoaster, water, people dining, etc.

Wow, thank you all for the great pictures.

This is exactly why we rented a car for our trip in December. I scheduled a couple of non-park days just so we could make sure to go see resort decorations. I have now added CSR to my list of "to see" resorts - thanks again for the great pics.

Does anyone know what the best strategy is to get from resort to resort to see all of the Christmas Decorations and how long it would take approximately. We will probably want to explore each resort a little and maybe hit a gift shop or two. I would like to start by valet parking at the Poly because we will have dinner there the day we plan to see all of the decorations so I want to leave our car there. I've searched for this all over the boards but I don't think I am putting in the right terms or something because I can't find anything. Thanks!

First of all the amount of time spent viewing the resorts depends upon you and your party. I would suggest that on the day you have dinner reservations for the Poly, that you stop in ahead of your reservations and view the WL. Then from the Poly, you can catch the monorail around to GF and CR. The rest you will have to drive to and just tell them (at the gate) that you just want to visit the resort.:thumbsup2

I recommend visiting all the resorts for the Holidays. Disney does an amazing job of decorating all over property. The Wilderness Lodge is my favorite though.

We visit all the resorts as well. Animal Kingdom Lodge is my favorite. When I walk in that lobby I just breath a great big breath and instantly feel the Christmas spirit invade my body. I wanted to stay there this year but we got such an amazing rate at Bay Lake Tower that I couldn't pass it up. My husband wanted to stay at Beach Club Villas because we can walk back to our hotel after Illuminations on Christmas Day instead of waiting for a monorail but even he agreed that we couldn't pass up the rate soooooo -- I'm hoping that I won't be dissappointed in the decorations as that is really important to me.

I bring a tree and decorations, garland, etc. I try to make the decorations fit the theme of the hote -- which is proving to be a bit of a problem with Bay Lake Tower as I'm not quite sure what the "theme" there really is, other than "contemporary".

Don't Know how often you visit, but if this is a seldom taken trip, then in my opinion you would be better served sticking to the parks and Deluxe resorts for your holiday decorations fix!:thumbsup2 If however you are going for the Hoop De Doo at FW, then by all means tour around and see some of the holiday decorations at FW.:thumbsup2

So, Halloween parties are over. Doesn't that mean the resort decorations should be on their way? If anyone actually sees them decorating the tree at WL or AKL please take pictures. I've heard it's a pretty amazing sight.

We were at WDW the first week in Nov. 2 years ago and watched the Halloween to Christmas transformation. It was great! Not all the decorations were out when we left, but it was getting there.

One of my favorite memories was watching the "practice" Christmas show and hearing the music from the CR MK room we had! I will see if I can find some pics...

Milly, that picture of the castle is breathtaking. I love the way they are decorating it now. It is just amazing. I was fortunate enough to be there last year for one of the lighting ceremonies and I actually had tears in my eyes. Of course I cry during Wishes, Holiday Wishes, Illuminations with the Let there be Peace on Earth tag,... I can't seem to help myself.

Thank you thank you thank you! My shaking has stopped -- at least for now. I'm still waiting for some from this year and from Bay Lake Tower. I really hope they decorate better than Contemporary.

Thanks to all for the great holiday photos.

I went at Christmas time for the first time ever on a solo, work training last December. It was always a dream of mine to go during this time of year and was lucky enough to be blessed with a trip.

Unfortunately all of the pictures I took during my trip were lost due to a computer/hard drive issue. This site and forum has allowed me to not feel as badly about it and for that I sincerely thank everyone.

Chaotic were those pictures of POP from this year? I'm staying there next weekend for the MVMCP and I would love it if it were decorated that well. I've never seen the Values at Christmas so this will be a new experience and I'm sooooo excited.

They were not from this year. The EXIF Data shows they were from mid December 2007.:)

Individual photos contain information like camera model, F/stop, Exposure setting, Focal length, Mode setting used, time and date photo was taken, etc. I just opened the exif data and saw when the photos were taken.:thumbsup2

These pics were from Dec 2007. I don't recall a grand center piece tree at the Contemp ? Things may be different since 2007 ? But there were smaller trees and decor around the lobby. Here's some I snapped :

They had smaller trees like this one up and around the Contemporary on the main floor by the two entrances. I do not recall seeing a bigger tree though, I could be incorrect :)
