Staying offsite 1 or 2 nights...

Hi All - Hopefully someone can help with this.

We're going in early December and are planning on arriving a day or 2 before our Land/Sea package starts. We were thinking of staying near Downtown Disney, hopefully at a very reasonable cost ($50???). There are only 2 of us.

What would be our best option? We're not planning on spending too much time at the hotel. Can you use WDW transportation to get around? We want to check out the Christmas decorations at the resorts during our pre-package days.

And, if we decide not to take our car, are there any complimentary services that would transfer our luggage to our resort?

I've never actually stayed off-site yet, but from the posts I've read in this forum the Courtyard at Downtown Disney might be your best bet pricewise. I doubt they'd transfer your luggage to the resort (probably have to use a cab or a town car service.)

How about just staying at an allstars. Should be able to get a good rate then using DC or AAA. Solve your transportaiton problems.
