I saw some pics with name credits, others without, but I think he just used pics he found around the website to keep the thread bumped. There are three quiet pools, besides the main pool with the jaugar slide. The picture you have there is one of the quiet pools. I believe that is the quiet pool in the Ranchos section (or it could be the Cabanas...we've only stayed in the Casitas and I know it is not the Casitas quiet pool).

Yes, each section has their own pool and then there is the main pool, Dig Site. And, next to the Dig Site, is the kiddie pool, the playground, arcade, sand volleyball court and the hot tub.

same boat here-- I have to wait 18 more months to take my grand daughter- The parents wont let me take her without the,m- (they say they want to experience disney withher the first time- after that we can take her as much as we want--LOL)

Thank you. Though I do shoot with a DSLR, that shot was taken while I was up there on a business conference last March, and I only brought my ultra-compact with me. So the settings are quite simple - Point, Shoot! :) The camera is a Sony DSC-T100, and to take the shot, I steadied the camera on the rail along the lake, used spot meter to adjust the exposure to the longest shutter speed (no manual modes on these little slimline cameras!), and held still to take the shot.

I boosted the gamma a bit in post processing to brighten the photo just a bit, and ran some noise reduction...then tweaked the colors in Topaz.

Do all CSR rooms get this stuff? What is it all? I see toothbrush, shampoo, mouthwash but what is the rest? I am used to just getting a small bar of soap and small shampoo.

oh yeah they did change our shower curtain in the middle of our stay but I didn't get a pic :( when we checked in it was a plain white/off white waffley type cloth with a seperate vinyl shower curtain liner behind it. The new ones have a brown/dark orange block design with a mesh see through top and a seperate vinyl liner is buttoned to the bottom 3/4 of the curtain. Hope that makes sense. a pic would be better lol

No, sorry I don't know. It was someone else's picture. We've never stayed in the Ranchos (we had planned on trying Ranchos or Cabanas on our visit in September since we've done Casitas seven times...but, alas, we had to cancel our trip :sad2: )

That is OK, I will have to look around when I am there. I have requested the Cabanas 8A section (to be close to that awesome main pool) but as I look around, I don't think I will be disappointed any where. I really like the looks of the Rancho's section, however it does seem a lot further away (except the 7B area ) I just hope I get a renovated room, but I am thinking most should be done by then.

Use this as background for what you might want to be close to:


For adult couples, especially honeymooners or those celebrating anniversaries Casitas 4 or 5 with a water view is exceptional. Casita 4 has the quiet pool, fitness center, spa, salon, and both are close to bus stop #2.

For “leisure guests with children” here are some great locations; Cabana 8a, Rancho 7b, Cabana 8b, 9a, Rancho 6b, and 6a...in that order. Nearness to El Centro is usually of no importance to many guests. It's much more important to be close to the park bus stops and the “Dig Site”. Leisure guests may come to El Centro once or twice; but they will be at the buses twice a day (at least) and the pool often when they are at the resort.

For adults or large families who wish to be close to a park bus stop and to a “quieter pool” but are not interested in the theme pool, building 7a is great and has close proximity to parking.

Building 2 also is close to parking and usually one of the quietest buildings, especially from the 4th floor. The fourth floor of building actually includes part of the upper floors of building 3 and has easy access to the convention center by way of the elevator courtyard of building 1 (especially in a rainstorm).

In other words, there is no “best location for everyone”. Each building has its own plusses and minuses. The cast members will be happy to guide you into the building that fits your needs best……..if you let them know what those needs and expectations may be.

Also, for a reality check…….when there is a large convention……not everyone is going to get a room next to the convention center. In fact, most of the rooming blocks are set up by the group having the convention long before any of the convention guests arrive…… Sometimes, there is little cast member latitude on changing those assignments.

As always, if there are special needs that must be addressed, fax the resort a week before arrival. Be sure you are faxing to the resort and not to Walt Disney Travel Company, their booking agency. The resort cast is best able to accommodate special needs. Often guests call the reservation desk with these requests and do not understand that this is not the resort; but a central reservation desk for ALL of Walt Disney World. The fax number is available by calling Walt Disney World information and asking for the front desk operations fax number.

Cabana 9b is close to bus stop 1 and the main building with a short walk to the Dig Site (main pool) over the wooden bridge.

Cabana 8a is close to the Dig Site (and playground) and bus stop 4 with a short walk to the main building (closest to the pool).

Cabana 8b and 9a are in between the 2 above (9a has a quiet pool).

Ranchos 7b has a quiet pool, is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a bit longer walk to the main building. 7b is behind cabana 8a.

Casita 1 is attached to the main building and is very close to the restaurants.

Casita 3 has great courtyard and fountain views.

Casita 5 has some nice fountain and lake views and is close to the Dig Site but farther from the main building. Close to bus stop #2.

Would anyone happen to have any more pictures of the playground areas at CSR (Dig Site or other areas)? We're considering CSR or CBR for a trip in Sept. and we are taking our son who will be about 19 months then, so we expect the playground areas to be frequently visited by him.

I've missed you and wondered what happened to you. You ought to go to the trip report thread and see the Renfroe Family report from CSR! They had an awesome time--again. Went last year; booked Pop for this year and ended up back at CSR.

My oldest is currently at the CBR. While he says it is okay, he's missing CSR a lot.

I always bring coffee from home and when I do I usually use the smaller regular coffee filters. Hope this helps.

Arcade- They don't have a ton of games and they are pretty family friendly...mostly racing games. If I had to guess how many, I'd say 15-20? They have a crane game and a few prize games in there, but I don't think you can use the free arcade card for those.

A friend asked me to share my pictures from CSR with you guys. We were there in May. It was the "week of rain" as many call it. One good thing came after one of those horrible storms....a BEAUTIFUL sunset! Look below to find some gorgeous pictures of the resort! It was one of the prettiest things I've ever seen! I'll also include some pics from the lobby, of the food, etc. This is a gorgeous place to stay. Great pool! Cute playground for kids! The rooms are some of the prettiest in all of WDW! Awesome pictures. You brought back every good memory I had from my CSR trip this June. I was also in the Ranchos section - 7B room 7345 - it think. I was right in front of the Ranchos quiet pool. I just loved this resort so thanks to all that suggested my change from POP to CSR!! I loved everything from the new rooms to Pepper Market to the location of the resort. Pepper Market is the best deal out there for counter service dining plan! My nephew and I loved it!! I am so ready to go back! (as I sit here listening to the Mexican style music playing on the Weather Channel) :sad1::sad1:.

Just out of curiosity, which section do you think is better....the casitas or the cabanas. I think all three sections are beautiful. We've always stayed in the Casitas section (7 times); we particularly like Casitas 4 and 5, near the quiet pool and the fitness center/spa. This year we've decided to shake things up so to speak and we've asked for the Cabanas or the Ranchos to try something different.

If you want to be close to the main building, one of the Cabanas 9 buildings or Casitas 1 or 2 are very close to the main building (but Casitas 1 and 2 are a longer walk to the main pool).

I can't get CSR all four nights (we are taking a mini trip in just a few weeks!) but I can get and am booked into CBR the whole time... I CAN get CSR for three of the four and CBR for one, or two and two... did you do a split stay on purpose?

Can you tell me which you would do again? I also wondered how your day between resorts (checkin/checkout day) worked out.... I would really really appreciate anything you can tell me, it looks like your experience would help clear up these questions for me!! We have two boys, 4 and 7 so it is the four of us... Yes, I did a split stay on purpose(3 days CBR and 8 days CSR:yay:)...Free dining did not start until the 16th but I had plane tickets cheap leaving the 13th so I decided to try CBR for those extra days....We did not have park tickets for the time at CBR, we were really there to enjoy the resort. It was a beautiful place (we stayed in Aruba bldg 51) and the rooms were nice but I have to say...I would go back to CSR if I had to choose one for my entire stay.
Now, you are faced with an entire stay at CBR or a split stay with CSR? I would do the split stay as long as you are not trying to cram a bunch of stuff in on your trip....while the day of transfer was not hard at all (bell services came right at the scheduled time and got our bags to us later in the day...even took over my 3 cases of water :woohoo: )...It does take time the night before to pack everything up again and get it ready to move then unpack once your stuff gets there...it eats up time.
My girls loved the pool at CBR and thought the food court was fun but I have to say they would want to go back to CSR over CBR....they LOVED the beds, the cool doors and just the rooms in general at CSR...they also would not stop climbing on the large rocks in the Ranchos area...they found fun everywhere....where as CBR, the fun was either the beach or the pool. I have to say the FEEL of CSR made me feel like I was back in a Deluxe...it does have that feel compared to the Nemo theme at CBR.

After reading your question one more time I would say go with CBR, it is a fun/wonderful resort....I would save CSR for time when you can stay the entire time and enjoy it to the fullest. Hi and thanks! You did help me, and we were able to get CBR for the whole stay so we decided to go with that. My DH loved the interiors of CSR, but we couldn't get the one night, and he didn't want to lose the time like you were saying on a "moving" day -- so while the room decor is not the same, the pool area will make it worth it to us in the end... We have never stayed at a moderate resort, I am anxious to try this one out! And then maybe next time CSR! We are just making a quick trip, we have a Christmas week already planned.. so this was a surprise!

Does anyone know if all of the rooms have been refurbished at this point? I thought I had read somewhere that by Oct 1 they would be. My other question..In rooms with 2 beds are they all queen? If not which type of room should I request to get queen sized beds? It would be nice to have a bit more room for sleeping.

Darlene, yes all of the rooms have been rehabbed (they were done mid-September...early!). All roomks with two beds, have two queens; any other room will have a king bed.

Be sure to visit the "unofficial CSR" thread if you have not done so. Lots of great info there supplied by many of us who have stayed at CSR.

and the remodel rooms look fantastic. Love the colour and the way the worked Mickey into the bed linens.

I took a look at the other resort rooms posted on youtube and I am so excited about our room as CSR now. I really like the way they look.

Can't wait. I am too excited! I am looking forward to some warm weather too. They always talk about football/hockey widows well my DH is a DIS widow:rotfl2:

My DH humors me and my love of Disney but unfortunately he has extreme motion sickness and can't do a lot of the rides. My DDs and I on the other hand love anything that spins - especially the roller coasters. My DH :love: without complaint holds our bags and waits for us when we do those rides. I always count my blessings to be so lucky.

Yes. That is the quiet pool for Ranchos...Right next to 6B and 7B...it was nice to choose between that pool or the main pool...they are both RIGHT THERE!
