I've been putting this off, for a few reasons. First, I didn't have the DVC points yet. Second, I wasn't sure about the exact dates. There was talk of adding a day. Third, I wasn't sure I wanted to commit without an "official" notice.
Well, I don't want to keep waiting. I may loose the dates I want. We bought our points at the new Beach Club Villas, so I can book there right now. This way I'll still be in the heart of DIS-CON territory! :D
So, I'm making my call tomorrow. Hopefully, we'll hear something soon. :)

Yes, Pat, we just did an add on at BCV. When I was calling for our summer trip, I found out the points were already in the system, so I can call anytime now. It only gets me about half of the days I want at BCV, but it's a start. I'll call in May to use my VWL points.

I haven't decided whether to use DVC points and try to get into BCV, or to just book a room for cash. I feel badly using the family's DVC points for a solo trip for me. I guess that it's no different than spending the family's money, but it just doesn't feel quite right. I still have some time to stew over this as my points are all at OKW so I have to wait for the 7 month window. Perhaps the decision will be made for me.

It's too bad we don't have any 'official' announcement yet. :( I know a lot of people need to ask for the time off from work and whatnot. I sure hope the dates are set in stone since so many other people have accepted 'the gamble' and made their plans. I know that ressies can be cancelled and/or changed, but the hearts of DIS'ers and their family members will be hard to mend if the official announcement turns out to be NO DIS-Con II. :(

But we do NEED some info about it now, like luvdsny said, we need to get time off work ect. I already have my flight booked which cant be changed as it was via priceline, i know it was my choice to book it, but as we havent heard anything about discon for a while now im starting to get a little nervous. At least i will have RAYCON if everything else falls through:D

Ok, right now I am booked at the Beach Club Villas for Dec. 2-8, using my Beach Club points. I will start calling in May for Dec. 1 and Dec. 8-12, using my Wilderness Lodge points. Whew! This does get complicated. I thought it would be best to book my actual DIS-CON dates first and figure out the rest later. I decided after the last DIS-Con that I would take one (count 'em!) vacation this year. OK, maybe 2 or 3. :D I will be arriving at WDW the day after Thanksgiving, and leaving December 10th. I guess I could be persuaded to stay longer, however....

I'm throwing the idea of staying from December 1st through the 12th out to my DW. If she doesn't flinch (and if I can get a studio at BCV at the 7 month window), I'll be there for a bit longer that I was able to stay for DIScon 2001. Keep your fingers crossed.

I think the 12th is the longest I can stay without getting into hot water here. It's a long time to leave the hubby, although it's the busy season and he's hardly home much anyhow. :) :)

I'm there Dec 2-9:wave: I've got a studio booked at OKW, my home resort. I'll try to switch to BWV or BCV in May (doubt I'll get anything there). I was at OKW for DISCon I so I can "rough it" there for II if I have to.

Good idea Karen. I suppose that I could commute from OKW since I'm planning to drive to DIScon 2002. It was just so much more convenient to be in the Boardwalk resorts area last year. And I know that it takes a few less points to stay at OKW than at either BWV or BCV. I guess I still have some time to fret about it.

John, I rented a car last year (and will again this year).It's only a 5 minute drive over to the Boardwalk area and parking there isn't a problem.

I must say, I had never driven (well, technically I still haven't driven because I had drivers for DIS-Con....but you'll get the point ;) ) around WDW before DIS-Con and I always thought it would be a hassle to find parking, etc...........but I was WRONG! I drove with 5 different people during DIS-Con and each time was so quick and simple. No problems with parking at all. I don't think I would want to drive because I would get lost too easily :o but I'll be happy to keep someone company in the passenger seat again. :D

I still want to come even if it's a non-con! We had a great time last year at the unofficial mini-meets! I just have to find out if I will be able to get the time off. I'm working at a fairly new job, and I don't know if they're going to go for this. I've already gotten my time off for John-con & Barb-con. I want to give them some time to get used to that before I ask for time off for our anniversary trip in Dec, and for Dis-con. I hope I can get it worked out. I really want to be there!
