We are taking our boys to WDW and staying at OKW via a trade for our Marriott Kauai in May. We are very excited about our trip and we've been considering buying into DVC

I've been reading this board to get a feel for the DVC program. I've read quite a few posts stating that points can be used for Disney hotel stays or cruises. Can someone give me a feel for how many points are required for a cruise? or Disneyland hotel stay?

Thanks!
Jen

Hi! Welcome!

Check out here for a little information you want. It is a point calculator from this site that includes Disneyland. DVC Point Calculator (http://www.wdwinfo.com/resort/dvcpoint.shtml)

I have not used points for cruises but you could do a search and see if there is any information here about that.

Once again, welcome and you will certainly enjoy OKW. Hope that we can say "Welcome Home" to you soon!

Points for the cruise vary according to length of cruise (3-night, 4-night or 7-night), itinerary on the 7-night cruises (Eastern or Western Caribbean), season (value, regular, peak or holiday) and stateroom category (4 - 11). MS negotiates the point requirements with DCL annually.

For example, for the 7 night Western Cruise, a category 9 (deluxe ocean view) cabin in regular season would be 185 points each for the first two people. Children 2 and under (in same cabin) would be 16 points each, children 3 - 12 (in same cabin) would be 91 points each and all others in the same cabin (13 and older) would be 117 points each.

If you have a particular time of the year and cruise length in mind, post again. I (or someone else) would be glad to look up the 2002 points for you.

HTH a little.
