I ve just been reading another thread in which a fellow bride from UK mentioned that she was having her flowers made in silk. That way she d be able to bring them back home
An idea i ve never thought of
Has any body else had a silk bouquet, if so would you mind posting your pics so i can see how well they turn out :goodvibes . I ve seen some silk flower displays in the past that have looked amazing, then again i ve seen some which well did nt.
Is this an option Disney offers or do you have to get everything made elsewhere? :confused3
I ll probably stick with the fresh flower bouquet etc but would be interested to see what the other options looks like.

it was me that was asking about the silk flowers. If you look at pepples22 's picture she had silk red roses (i hope she doesn't mind me mentioning her). I have the same dress as her and was worried about the colour of the red roses matching my red and white dress. When i saw the pictures and the colours matched perfect it made up my mind.
I've spoken to Disney floral and upgraded my escapes package i'm having 4 button holes of single red roses, my bouquet of red roses with accented white roses, on small bridemaid bouquet of white roses with accented red roses, a flowergirl basket with white petals (as red stain the train apparently) and i'm having the rose cermony with two single silk roses.
The silk roses look really real. The price is not much different from the real flowers and i'm haing a UK reception so it means that i wont have to pay out for two bouquets. Disney floral where really helpful. All of the Disney bouquets look beautiful and Disney use high quality silk so that it does look real.
Hope thats helped a bit

Orangetigg what sort of silk flowers and colours are you having? Have you seen pictures from Disney floral of yours? I think there a great idea for UK brides. Some people have said to me 'nothing beats real' and 'they wont be the same' but i think they look pretty real its only when you get real close you can see there not and Disney use fake stems for there flowers anyway.
You can even get silk flowers sprayed to smell like real ones lol :rotfl2:

Yay :goodvibes , it was your post in a thread. Now i remember :woohoo:
Im glad i read it as i had never thought of that idea for my bouquet, cant say in all honesty that i like the idea of having to bin it when we leave :(
I ve seen some fake silk flowers & they have looked beautiful, i ve had to get real close up to them before i could honestly tell. Thats fab too that Disney can spray them to give them that real scent :thumbsup2

Thats a good point actually, my df gets hay fever but he seems to be fine a round flowers (fingers crossed). We live opposite a massive field so that causes havoc with his hayfever. Its a beautiful view from our lounge window :lovestruc but god when the tractors come out & he starts sneezing it can take him literally forever to stop. Its more freshly cut grass that plays havoc for him :(

Orangetigg i can't wait to see your photos what flowers / colours you having?
I do think its a really good idea. I just hope mine look real and as good as the others. Disneybride010103 Amanda was my inspiration for my bouquet i've asked for my silk one to look like hers.

We're doing silk for the extras, my mom has just finished the bridesmaids ones. I HAVE to get some pics - they're so cute!! :goodvibes
Plus, we're doing an athome reception, so its a money saver too.
She made 2 bridesmaid bouquets for $23. If that puts it in perspective.

I'm also going to get silks so we can use our flowers at our at-home reception.
I'm presuming that we will have to pay an upgrade fee on the standard flowers that are included within the Escape package?

I am also doing all silk. It saved us about 2000$ which helped out a ton! I'll post some pics later tonight. My sister is a florist on the side, so she is doing everything for us. So far the only thing that is completed is the BM and FG pomanders.. that she had to shape like mickey.
We are using a mixture of all types of flowers in Pink, orange, and yellow. But a large bit of the flowers will be lilys because they are my fave.
Plus all these flowers will match the color of our new living room once we moved in together.. so it worked out for us!

Meryll83 you need to specifically tell Disney floral that you are an Escape bride and that you get your bouquet and DF's button hole included but you'd like to upgrade to a silk bouquet. I think we get it half price. Just off the top of my head i think i was quoted $140, which i think is alot cheaper than other brides.
Disney floral couldn't have been more helpful. :thumbsup2

Thanks for this - do we deal with Disney Floral seperately then and not via the planner?

(I'm escape) Floral will contact you after you get into planning. We just made our "floral phone" meeting for next week on thursday, I'll updated my pj after the call if youre interested in content.

Silks are a small upgrade, but not much for escapes. My bouquet was considerably larger than the included one, so going larger and silks was a $75 upgrade..but so worth it. I had heard mixed reviews on Keepsake floral and didn't want to pay $400+ for that, so it was very cost effective to go with silks, plus, everytime I pass my curio, I can see my bouquet looking just as beautiful as it did the day we married.

I contacted Disney Floral direct to ask a few questions and then when they emailed back i put in my complete order :rotfl:
I wanted to sort things out quickly so that i could get another thing ticked off my list. My bridesmaid silk bouquet cost more than mine was to upgrade (plus it was quite large for a 16 year old) so i asked Rosie to make it smaller and cheaper :rotfl2: I'm still waiting on the price for this.

I'm glad to read disney does silk flowers as well as fresh, DF and myself will be having a blessing or row renewal in the UK at some point as some of my family can't come to the wedding, and this is a great idea in reducing the cost.
