Getting motivated to train is tough right now. The heat index today is around 105 and it is hard to get going. Even later inthe evening the air temps are still in the upper 80's with index still 90-95. I remember it was not that long ago when we were all complaining about how cold it was and how tough it was to get out and train. Oh well, I guess we will never be happy with weather.

No kidding! I went out at lunch today and barely made it. I've decided after today that I must switch to early morning running until at least September. I'm not going to make much progress in this heat!

Yep, and to add to the misery, every time I say I'll wait until the last minute so it can cool off, it starts pouring!! I'm not big on running in the rain:rolleyes1 ... At least I'm not planning much until I start training for the January half!

I totally understand! I went out last night for a slower, just ahead of the sweeper pace walk last night with DD and it was a virtual sauna outside. yuck! I can't imagine what I would have felt like if I had jogged or run...My main goal right now is hydration!

I am SO there with you. I have a hard time with summer running. It has been in the 100's here so, I usually have to go at 5 am to beat the heat. I guess I will be nice and race heat ready for Disney in August. I did a run the other day at 6 pm when my thermometer said 102. That was brutal. I wore a fuel belt and stocked up on Clif Shot Blocks.

The heat does me in as well. On Sunday, I need to do a long run and the forecast is humid and in the 90's so I'm planning on doing it at 4:45 a.m. before the sun gets too high.
