My DS is going on a grade 8 trip to Ottawa in June and is staying at the WelcomInn on Michael Street.Does anybody know if this is a nice place.I know that the school wouldnt let the kids stay in a bad place so this is just for my peace of mind.He has had to work his bottom off to earn the priviledge to go so I just want to make sure that he will have a good place to stay in.Thanks for any info.

He should be fine...haven't been that way in a while (it's in the east end of Ottawa & I live in the west) but I know the area & it's fine (definitely not an area of town you have to worry about...besides, I'm sure they'll be well supervised and Ottawa is a pretty "quiet" city).

I've visted Ottawa a few times, but I'm not familiar with that area so sorry I can't help you out. Hope he has a safe, fun, happy trip though! :sunny: Ottawa is a nice city from what I've seen. :)

As stated earlier the Welcom Inn is
in the east of the city. It is across
from one of the larger shopping malls,
the St. Laurent Centre. There are
several restaurants nearby, Perkins,
Pizza,Pizza and a local favourite,
Rockin Johnnys. It is a fifties diner.
This hotel and the Chimo Inn next
door cater to a lot of school groups.
There has been some problems at
the pool at the Chimo but I have
heard nothing about the Welcom Inn.
It is a fairly commercial area. It is
also close to the baseball park.
If you have any further questions
just ask.
