We are being given an Apache Popup that needs repair. We are planning on using it on our next WDW trip(09). Does anyone have pics of an Apache Cimmaron 78? We would like to know what it is "supposed" to look like.
Thanks!

We seriously considered getting one of these when they first came out, that is until...
....a friend of ours had theirs actually collapse on them during a thunderstorm while they were at FtW. Fortunately, they only had bumps and bruises and no serious injuries. Make sure the locking "thingys" are fully functional and without defect.

Thanks for the advice. Actually, our last trip to the Fort our tents were totalled in a thunderstorm and we were drying everything out our entire stay. I am hoping that if this works out...........maybe we can handle the rain better. However, I will check the lifty thingys!:woohoo:

I must make a correction to my previous statement after looking at some old photos. Our friend's pop-up had the hard-sided walls on the box portion only. The pull-outs were still made out of canvas. My pic wasn't good enough to read the brand, but I think it was a Palamino.

I don't know a thing (or a thingy) about Apaches....but I love my pop-up! Have a great time with yours!!!! Did you say it is given to you? Well, thats even better! Sure beats sleeping on the ground!

My Dad is giving it to us. My husband is going to look it over to see if it is "worth" repairing. Thanks for the encouragement!:thumbsup2

Pop up campers I LOVE and the nice thing about them is they're cheaper to haul around then the gas it takes to tow a full size camper.

Ditto what the Peach said. I lurk over there and have learned a great deal. They also have links to vendors that can repair canvas and that sort of thing if needed.

Thanks so much! We are going to go look at the pop up tomorrow and see how much repair it will need. Hopefully we will be traveling to WDW in it next year!

Just back from the fort yesterday with my ‘73 Apache Ramada. We spent a week and had a great time. Bet you love your “new “ camper, in fact once my Dad saw mine he sold his canvas popup and bought himself a Apache as well. Note since the roof rest on the solid walls once the camper is in the upright position, it will not fall even if the lift system was to fail.

Please let us know what kind of shape it's in and what you decided.

Well! We were pleased when we looked at the pop up today! It needs some work on the outside and work on the mechanisms that lift it. The inside seems to be in need of minor repairs - new cushions, carpet. Soooo.......
we are going to take it and work on it! :thumbsup2
