Hey Ben, so people have told me to bring anywhere from $300-$500. But I think it depends on what you need. Do you need a lot of stuff for your room when you first get there? The more stuff you need the more money you should bring. I would also factor in buying food for the first time for your apartment and wondering around the parks and buying food there as well. I'm sure I will be bringing somewhere close to $500.

This is what Disney used to reccomend:
Because you may be here for a week and a half before receiving your first paycheck, we strongly recommend that you bring $350-400 for living expenses. This is only a recommendation and will vary among students.
Keep in mind that your first pay check (which you can collect a week after Traditions, normally on your second Thursday) will be nominal, around eighty dollars. The following pay check will incur a double rent deduction, and depending on how many hours you've worked, you may have no take home pay on your second week to speak of.
Bring enough money to get yourself started with groceries and other necessities, and a little on top of that just incase.

My DD Arrived on May 19th and hasn't received her 1st paycheck yet. She said it should be this Thursday.

So I have heard before that it is generally break-even after living expenses (food, housing, etc.) and entertainment.....but could any of those who have done the program share for example what your paychecks looked like? (of course this is personal information and if you don't want to post it here, you could PM me and I will post it anonymously)...but it would be nice to know for budgeting and that kind of thing
Just want to get an idea!
Thanks to everyone (especially program alums) who help all us newbies out!

I meant second Thursday, sorry! However, it seems strange that your daughter hasn't yet gotten her first check. As long as she attended Traditions and her training began as scheduled, she should have had a check released on May 29th for any hours worked between May 18-24... note that the checks aren't initially mailed, typically a Cast Service Specialist in the area will hold them for pickup (though paycheck distribution varies by area).
