Thanks!!! :flower3: I really LOVE that David's color - watermelon... so Pretty!! If I were to go with a dress from them, it'd def be in that color! I feel kind of partial to the Davinci one though, because that's the first one we tried on! lol. Silly I know!

 Yay for starting a PJ!

:cutie: Maggie really does have a LOT of nice dresses. I love especially how most all of them have the back that laces up! That is really a must for me, so when i tried on that dress, it was just, ::sigh:: perfect. I did not want to take it off. I really think its the one... I think I just want to try on a few more to make sure there's nothing else out there that is just as nice...
The dress is beautiful!! You could always try on a cathedral veil and see if that satisfies your want for a long train!! Everything sounds great so far!!
aww, thank you!!! I was thinking of trying a cathedral veil! That might give me the length I am looking for. I just love everything about this dress, it makes me feel like Cinderella! :bride:
congratulations!!!

Thank you so much! Yea, since last night I've pretty much decided that I'm going to go with that Bridesmaid dress! I just love it! :cutie:

OMG I LOVE my ring! I actually helped DF pick it out, and this was by TOTAL accident... well I mean, we were looking at rings knowingly, but never actually thought we'd just buy one, but when I saw this ring, I fell in love, and DF bought it right then and there b/c he knew it made me so happy.
My DF did the same thing!! How wonderful!!! ::yes::

We actually dont have a planner yet! I called Karen Chandler in DPS to set up our MK and epcot photo session and she was very nice and set up our shoot very quickly!, is she a planner too?? I can't wait until we are assigned a planner. I am going to miss shooting off a gazillion emails to Heidi Pickert though

I think that wedding dress is lovely. I wouldn't worry about a long train unless you really really want one, as most of the day it would just be in the way and you'd probably have it bustled up.
I think the colour of the BM dresses is fabulous and your invites are lovely. Everyone on here is so talented with their craft projects.
Good luck for the marathon.

Yay! You should start one soon, its a great way to get all of your ideas in order!!
Thanks! :cutie: I bought the paper from paper-source.com They have a TON of paper! Most of the paper has some sort of design, but i found this solid paper in many different colors and a couple of different weights. It is relatively cheap too! One sheet of 20x26" text was only $.60!! You can't even get a sheet of scrapbooking paper in Michaels for that price!! They also sell envelops, and a whole bunch of other goddies too! they were a lot of fun to make! I got the basic idea for the invitation online, by googling "Fold out invitation". That pulled up an image of an invite that looked like that, and I just made up my invite once I got the paper.

I think you are right about the train. As much as I love super long trains, I really wont love it when I'm stepping on it and dragging it on the floor all day! And it will be bustled after the ceremony! I have only tried the dress on once, so I just need to go try it on again to make sure its as lovely as I remember it to be! I have an appointment tomorrow am with mom and sis! So very excited.
Thanks!!:goodvibes

Beautiful choice on the bridesmaid dresses, too. WOW! You and your sister are incredibly talented! Can't decide what I like best -- the countdown calendar (I WANT ONE!!!!) or the save the dates or engagement party invites. Do you think maybe you could rub off on me? Just popping in here to say how much I'm enjoying your journal. You're so talented, what with the Wedding Day Countdown calendar and your save-the-date invites. I can't imagine what other tricks you have up your sleeve.
Your dress, as I've mentioned, is gorgeous. And the smile on your face really lets everyone know how much you love it. And your eyes--gorgeous! (I hope that's not too personal.)
I'll be excited to learn who your WC is, who you choose for a photographer, your bouquet, etc. Hey, I didn't do any of those things so I'll live vicariously through you. That is, unless I get some serious jones to do a VR. :lmao:
Say....maybe you could run in a veil and all-white outfit, with "Bride-to-Be" on your shirt. (No one would need to know it's in May....)

Wow that sucks. I wouldn't worry about it though. Even if you DF saw it I am pretty sure he won't remember it. Plus in the pic I am sure you aren't all dolled up like you will be on your wedding day so to him it will be like he never saw any picture. I don't think you have anything to worry about. Its only a picture and not the real thing. No worries! :goodvibes
IndyBride
06-23-2008, 04:47 PM
I agree with Toni, he won't remember what it looks like. Don't worry. That sucks about someone stealing your thunder. My Aunt got engaged like three months after I did. I was worried for a second and a half. Then, I decided I can't change when their date is so I'd might as well be happy about it. Luckily for me, they are having a long engagement. Besides- your's is first so their celebration will be an old hat and everyone will be tired of traveling for wedding's by the time theirs comes around. One can hope anyway! ;)
JonetteA
06-23-2008, 07:54 PM
Don't let anyone steal your joy. The wedding is about you and no one else. Regardless of what the other couple decides to do, that isn't important. The people that want to be there will be and those will be the ones that matter the most. Believe in your joy and embrace it. All you can worry about is yourself. If you worry about what so and so is doing you aren't going to enjoy this process for yourself.
As for the dress I totally understand. Don't worry your hubbie to be will forget all about what it looked like if he is anything like my hubbie. The details are sometimes not their strong suit! =) Everything is going to be fine! If this is THE dress I would not change it now.

That is so funny about the dress pics.....well not really funny, but I have been trying to show DF pics of me in my dress and he wants no part of it. LOL :rotfl:
jacqu3lin3
06-23-2008, 09:34 PM
LOL....I would be freaking out if my DF saw my dress as well...but then again, he probably won't remember what it looked like up on the computer sreen. What matters most is the moment he sees you (all made up) walking down the aisle on your wedding day. I wouldn't let it bother you.
Other than that, wedding planning has hit a slow point. We can't really do much more until we hit our 8 month mark. Then we can sign our contract, get our Disney STD's out. :worried: sigh...
The eight month mark will be here before you know it!!! It'll sneak up on you!

Your sister did a good job ! the hair looks great. Who is doing it for you on your wedding day? will it be the same style?
someone in the 'family" is getting married next June.... WHAT!?! Our wedding is MAY!!!
This just bugs me b/c its too close! And this may sound really shallow of me, and believe me I'm REALLY not the type of person to want attention all to myself, but now we're going to have to share the spot light with them!
Try not to let it bother you, as others have said, this is your day and thats all that matters, that said however, I would be ready to freak big time !!!
Then holy sh*t I friggen click on the email and the pics pop up!
Now I'm worried about the supstition that he can't see me in my dress before the wedding... :( :( :( This is terrible.
I know a lot of you girls have seen each other before your wedding, so this isn't the end of hte world, right!??!
OMG you are having a time of it arn't you !!! Don't worry men rarely pay that much attention, he probably won't even give it a second thought !
I was asking lee if he had been thinking about the wedding recently and he said, "yeh - I'm really looking forward to staying in such a nice villa"
I could have thumped him :headache:
And in six months we have our ps!!!
Whens your planning session? ours is in Nov

Those centerpieces for your engagement party are so pretty or at least they sound so pretty!! I can't wait for you to post pics.
I am sorry to hear about your friend. My DF is in a similar situtaion but unfortunately it's his brother not just a friend. I am hoping they can resolve it before the wedding but if not he has a backup. I guess that doesn't help you though. Just wait a little while and you will figure out what you want to do!

Hi! Just reading your entire PJ this morning. I had to comment on your DF seeing your dress picture. I have a funny story about my DH and my dress. I asked DH about 1 month before the wedding what he thought my dress looked like. He said, "strapless with a big poofy skirt even though I told you not to get a poofy skirt." Then he continued on, "No, acutally I think it's a halter."
Ok, How many guys even KNOW what a halter is?? My dress was exactly a halter with a full skirt and no train. I still think he somehow saw my dress! He just grins and says he knows me SOOO well.
So my advice to you is even though your DF saw a thumnail pix of your dress he probably has an image of you in his mind already and when he sees you in person it won't even compare to that teeny tiny picture!
GL planning!

Hi Michelle !!
Looking forward to seeing your centerpiece you made.
Come on girl - a film camera !!!!! They are soooooooooooo last season :rotfl:
Talking of film cameras, we have an old film camera but its a really really good camera with a huge lense and so takes great pics. We have recently moved house and when unpacking we found this old camera and it still had a film in it. Lee proceeded round the house taking silly pics of us all, Our son Connor noticed him taking a picture and not knowing what a non-digital camera is said "Dad let me see the picture"
Made me feel really old !!!
Sorry to hear about your BM, it obviously wasn't meant to be. I was meant to have 4 bridesmaids and now I'm down to 2 Bridesmaids.

Hi! Great PJ! I was wondering where at the yacht club you are having your reception? DF and I really like the Living Seas but are still doing our research. Do you happen to have any pics by chance?
in regards to your flowers, I'd say if you can't your specific colors then I'd go with the solid hot pink! At least that way you know they will match and you will have enough of them!

We're having it in one of the ballrooms (yea, we're pretty traditional and boring! lol). I dont have any pictures, unfortunately. Sorry!! The livings seas is beautiful though! If you dont mind not really having a dance floor, and DJ type dancing, that is a great place for a reception! I choose the ballroom because I want a DJ and dance floor. :cutie:

My sister and I have been fiercely making big pom-poms like these:
http://images.marthastewart.com/images/content/pub/weddings/2006Q1/msw_spring06_pompom_l.jpg
in varying combos of pink white and yellow. They will be hung alllllll over the house and outside as the decorations. We need to make about a hundred more! Not kidding. :headache:
They are too cute, might pinch the idea for our welcome party :rotfl: how do you make them?
In addition to this, we bought little paper lantern string lights to put up outside on the railings of the deck.
Oooh - might pinch that idea too :rotfl2:
I'm also trying to get a ton of music together to throw on DFs iPod for the party. I want an eclectic mix of good tunes to play throughout the party... but there wont be any dancing... so it will just be background music.
There goes another idea :lmao:
They only had a vibrant yellow ick:

I think those would be quite nice :confused3
Ok, I think everyone should vote!
Go hot pink all the way, or go multipack and get some hot pink tipped roses, but also have to use some red and orange roses?
Hot pink or die I say !!!!:rotfl:

You are too funny Linz!!
To make the big poofs you need tissue paper that is approximately 20 inches x 30 inches (or 50.8 cm x 76.2 cm). I used three colors: pink yellow and white
So you take like 8-12 sheets of paper and stack them up ( I like to use about 10/12 sheets becasue it makes a fuller pom pom). Take the stack of tissue paper by one end and start folding it accordion style like this:
http://www.marthastewart.com/images/content/pub/weddings/2006Q1/msw_spring06_pompom_ht_1_m.jpg
you keep folding the paper like that until you reach the end and have a nice fan like shape. Then tie a string around the center. I used Hot pink ribbon. To make the pom pom look pretty, you should also cut each end to make it round like this:
http://images.marthastewart.com/images/content/pub/weddings/2006Q1/msw_spring06_pompom_ht_2_m.jpg
then separate the layers by pulling each sheet of tissue up carefully like so:
http://www.marthastewart.com/images/content/pub/weddings/2006Q1/msw_spring06_pompom_ht_3_m.jpg
After I've pulled apart each piece of tissue paper I "fluff" the pom pom to make it a more uniform ball.
Let me know if you get stuck with anything, but they are really easy to make!!

Wow that looks easy although time consuming. Next party I have here I am gonna make 20 or 30. so much prettier then balloons. Thank you for sharing this idea. I get most of my tissue paper from the dollar store -- comes in packs of 20 per pack. Is that tissue paper strong enough to use? It shows the ends were cut rounded, but end product the pom looks like points on ends? Maybe I need better glasses --- I suppose either would work fine.

FINALLY! We can do our room block! I have been waiting and waiting for something, anything to do for this wedding as I seem to be at a stand still for the next few weeks until we reach the golden 8 month mark!
Yesterday Heidi emailed me with the room block info!!! WOO HOO! I can actually do something for this wedding! I feel like I've been planning a prewedding with this engagement party, so its nice to take a break from that stuff to do actual wedding stuff!
The form for this room block was kind of confusing at first, but I think we got it figured out. We have to guarantee 50 room nights for the wedding, so we get 60 room nights to block off, but I'm thinking we might need to up that.
Between my family (parents, brothers and sister and assorted sig. others) and DF's family we're over 50 room nights just for us. And since we're all pretty much staying at the Grand, I need to block off a few rooms at the other hotels too for the rest of the guests.
I think we're picking the POFQ, and The allstar movies as the other two.... although sis says the pop is nice.. but I dont see it on the list... Is that one not available for room blocks? I'm going to have to email Heidi and ask her a few questions about this...
Up next... engagement party plans... lost of stuff to decide on!
Wow your so lucky!!! I'm nealry exactly 9 months out and I've heard nothing, I asked when they'd need info for my room block and they said september!
It's so frustrating!!!! I am desperate to do something for the wedding, I can't wait until the 8 month mark!!!
I *love* those pom poms by the way, I think maybe I'll have ti get some for the whitehall patio. Although can you but them anywhere, because I am creatively challenged and I don't want to ruin my wedding by making something myself! :rotfl:

Patty, I bought my tissue paper from Christmas Tree Shop, which is basically like a giant dollar store! I love that place! I got packs of like 20 or 30 sheets for a dollar too, and that thickness was perfect! They are so easy to make and look great! I acutally have been doing both rounded and pointed tips, and I like the variation. Have fun making them!

I'm nearly exactly at 9 months too!! We're pretty close with our wedding dates! I recently got an email from my cooridnator about room blocks, save the date form, and all that good stuff. My 8 month mark is coming up at the end of september, and as soon as that rolls around we can sign our contract and send out our save the dates!! So you should prob be hearing your coordinator soon if you haven't already! :)
The pom poms are fantastic, and I think they decorate well for any occasion! Check out Martha Stewart's website, (yes, I got the idea from her... I hate her but darn she has some great ideas!), and look at her wedding related projects, youll get a lot of inspiration from that! ;)
