We have had to cancel our plans to go to WDW this year, we were looking forward to staying at the CBR. We LOVED it last year, just hoping someone has some pictures from there, I have seen lots of threads for other resorts pics but not for CBR, other then Saftymom's post with all her great info on the resort.

Here are some from our trip back at the end of November 2007. We requested Trinidad South because we thought it would be quieter as it was further away from the main pool. But, truth is, the pool at TS was the busiest of the smaller pools. I actually ended up using the pool at the next island because it was actually closer to our room

We'll just miss you! We check in on Nov. 10th. We've requested Jamaica too. It's the best IMO, although I'm biased...1st trip on-site was there, and my honeymoon. Looking forward to replacing memories of the latter on this trip with my boys!!!

Thanks for such a great update!!! I was losing hope that the pool would be ready for our end of Sept. trip....You have given me hope again!::banana: :banana: This will be our 1st trip to CBR!!!!
Unfortunately, I think I made the mistake of not upgrading to a preferred location! From what I read, it's a must. Oh well, how bad can it be in the Magical World of Disney? :wizard:

Trinidad North and Martinique are considered preferred. Right on either side of OPR, just a few minute walk. Aruba and Jamaica and about a 5 minute walk. Barbados and Trinidad South are the farthest out at about 10-12 minutes.

Don't be overwhelmed! :goodvibes Each village has it's own quiet pool and it's own bus stop. And there is an internal bus if you don't feel like walking.

Yes, I'm so excited!!! We're only there for 2 nights but my son will be in his element! we're not planning on doing the parks, just enjoying the resort and the pool.

Thanks! I loved looking at everyone's pics before I went so I made it my mission to come back with a lot to post. Our son did not do the Pirate cruise. He's only 4, maybe in a few years. We just watched from the shore for a bit. All we really saw is the boat leave from the Marina and head to the Barbados beach. They then got off the boat and were walking along the shoreline by the wooded section in front of Barbados. Hidden treasure perhaps?

it looks like there are 2 different slides--is that true?

Yes there are two slides. The original slide and the new longer one coming out of the fort. Then there is a slide in the kids play area.

Thanks! There are 2 bins of lifejackets inside the fenced main pool area, one on the lake side and the other near the entrance to the pirate ship area.

Thanks, I have a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5, 10x zoom. I'm actually very much still learning how to get the most out of the settings. The only akward thing I find about it is the tripod mount is on one end of the base instead of centered. On this trip I never did slow down long enough to use my tripod so it didn't matter. :rotfl:

Aruba is an excellent location. It's straight across the bridge from OPR - about a 5 minute walk! :goodvibes

Yes, the pirate rooms are all in Trinidad South. About a 7-10 minute walk to OPR. The main pool and children's pool are at OPR.

Yes, the pirate rooms are only in Trinidad South. They are the same price as a preferred room.

Each village has it's own quiet pool and bus stop. Three of the villages have playgrounds - Jamaica, Barbados, and Trinidad South.

Trinidad North and Martinique are closest to OPR (main pool, food court, restaurant, gift shops), right on either side. Aruba and Jamaica and right across the bridge from OPR, a 5 minute walk. Barbados and Trinidad South are furthest out at a 7-10 minute walk. There is also a internal bus that runs the resort continuously if you don't care to walk.

DFI and I always stay here. Personally I find it to be one of the best places to stay... And wevestayed at alot but got hooked here. The fact that there are like, little getaways each with their own name and you have to go around the circle of the lake to get to the resturant, really just, makes you feel as though you are in another country!

The only place I saw the skeleton pirates were just insider the doorway in Old Port Royale (on the main pool side-the doors into the store area). Since there are multiple doors you can use to go into Old Port Royale, simply go through one of those to avoid the skeletons. I would suggest you go through the doors nearest Shutter's restaurant. You can easily access the food court and still avoid the skeleton pirates.

Can anyone tell me....which supplies/toiletries are given/standard in each room? Ie, is there shampoo? Soap? Etc....we're not picky about brands, and I don't want to pack anymore than I absolutely have to, with all the luggage restrictions now, so even a couple of pounds of toiletries would be a savings, kwim?

The pool was not very crowded the day we spent at it! :goodvibes It was a Saturday and it was right around 78-80 degrees out. The water in the main pool was very warm. The water in the children's pool was a little colder.

It was open 10am-11pm when we were just there Jan 20-27. It wasn't crowded during the day. We were never there in the evening since it was colder, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't crowded then either! I'm sure it would be more crowded in the warmer months, but the new pool is very large and laid out very nice, so I don't think it would ever feel too crowded.

We have found that, when staying at the CBR, we are more relaxed and don't do the park commando schedule. Everything is just so laid back at the resort so you just can't help but pull up a beach chair and chill!

The CBR has such a relaxing feel to it. Our trips are for 10 days and on two of those days, we spend time just chillin' at the resort before heading to Downtown Disney. When you see those beach chairs and hammocks, it seems like you are in a whole different world.

Thank you for the pirate room photos!!! I booked a week in december in them and I was so curious to see what they looked like. These are the first photos I saw of them. My girls are so excited!

Thanks for the awesome pics. May cannot come fast enough! Really looking forward to this surprise 5th b-day trip for DGS. He has no idea we are going and will not know until my DIL arrives with him, and DGD to meet me, at Orlando airport. Too exciting!

How fun! We surprised our son with a trip this past August. We had originally booked for May but I started a new job (the same week as we were supposed to be at WDW) and didn't think we'd be able to go back until 2009. When Disney put out the End of the Summer promo, my new boss told me to go ahead and book it. We drive (14 hours) so we just knew that our 11 year old would pick up on it. When we got about 30 minutes from Disney, we told him. We are now, officially, the best parents in the world!

Thanks for all the great pics. I am getting super excited for our Sept trip. I didn't know if we made the right decision picking CBR b/c we have been staying at POLY for the last few years and I just LOVE LOVE POLY. But these pics are great. I love the hammocks and dd is going to love the pools and playgrounds. Keep the pics coming, I am 6 months away and can't wait to go!;)
