OK this is the deal. I made a batch of Kungaloosh for Chris and I. He and Jen went to Wal-Mart and haven't returned. Well I'm on number 3. There's just about enough for us to enjoy 1 a piece before I head to MGM. If he doesn't hurry up that's gonna be we could've enjoyed a nice Kungaloosh. BTW, we're not breaking out any massage tables tonight unless he's giving Jen a massage.

This is who's here so far. Kevin who I met in March is in 1400. Tungo is there too. Jen and I are in 1000. The GG should be fun. We let Mean Gene know to look out for Debbie. I told him she was an unauthorized guest and to look for her trying to peddle in here. If she makes it in I'm going to take her down to the settlement and shoot all the otters in front of her.

P.S. Is this a mild attack on Debbie and will I get any points?

Chris was putting together the vinyl musket mickeys in the ac. I am getting the full silent treatment from Chris. Geesh! Property Control is a crap shoot - sometimes it is a treasure trove of the greatest stuff ever, other times it is full of junk. My wife got a neat Mickey figurine holding a plate which retailed at over 50 bucks for about 5 because the plate was broken. I just bought another plate at another store on property and glued it on. A couple of years ago I got a limited edition set of pins for about 10 bucks.

He wrote something to the effect of I am renting Tina's 5'er or something like that. He was so busy defending himself because everyone was calling him stalktester (because he supposedly knows EVERYONE on the boards personally) and strollerslayer (because he used Gatordad's youngest child in the stroller to try and break his fall last night) He also almost killed G8trmom1's mickey lamp post, which would have just ended Donnie's life right there...;)

MsGus made Donnie do a sobriety test in front of his golf cart and he, of course, failed miserably, so he was banished to ride shotgun in the cart parade.

Oh that's a whole another story. That woman was just a plain you know what. This woman took my daughters chair at the pool that had her cell phone, towel and some other stuff in a bag and tossed it on the ground. I went over and asked her what was up and she said the lifeguard says if a chair is vacant for more than an hour it's your's. I said so have you been here an hour? She says no the man sitting next to it said nobody had been there in over an hour. I called her an inconsiderate B!$(# and her hubby stood up. I said fine let's go. He mumbled and walked away. I had my phone on speed dial to call Gatordad if he beat me up.:lmao: That was pretty above and beyond anything I've seen. The cell phone btw was in water. Luckily it didn't hurt the phone.

you could have come and pulled me over there...remember i am grouchy because all i can have is crackers! i would have sent them to swim with the fishes!!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

You should have told them the bag wasn't reserving the chair it was to keep someone from sitting in the pee/poop from that sick 2 year old over there!!!!

That why we take our own chairs to the pool. Some people think there special

I have 60060 per month!!!! I freaked at first, but then I read their definition of "hits per month"....

This is the total number of times someone has viewed your digital content through direct linking. If you have four images or videos linked from your Photobucket account to a webpage and one visitor views the page that is four 'Hits'. Four visitors to a webpage with only one image direct linked is also four 'Hits'. Viewing your images directly through your Photobucket account does not add to the 'Monthly Hits'.

I post pics from my site almost every day, so everytime one of you guys see one of those pics posted here, it counts as a hit on photobucket.

My house was hit by lightning last night! We are really lucky though...the house is still standing! We're still waiting on the structural people to get here. We have some shredded wood in the attic and a hole on the corner of the house under the roof line where it exited and travel down the gutter down spout. It blew the phone box cover off and into the yard about 25 feet away! We have a ton of fried electronics....the surge protectors strips did nothing for 'em. Tv's, modem and router, my work voip phone, sterio receivers etc ..all toast. Strange as it sounds...the power stayed on...but the cable and phone are out?? YES, actually :headache: We came back from 2 weeks of camping to find a dead bat in our bathroom sink and bat mess in the loft again :scared1: . We hired a new company and the are taking a different approach. They are even giving us a 5 year guarantee. They are out here right now sealing up the whole house. Once they are done we are going to wait 5 days to give any that were trapped inside a chance to die.

Thank goodness for the motorhome...we are camping in the driveway right now. We still use the house during the day, but come evening we run out here. We should be back in the house by the beginning of next week. :thumbsup2

Glad you all are ok. A customer around here had there house hit by lighting and some how the strike put a whole in the gas flex line to the water heater and they had a 3 foot flame burning in the attic. Here is the scary part it had been burning for 3 days before they found it.

Why is it that we sit on this board everyday....slamming and insulting and belittling each other with no regard for each other's feelings....yet we all get along so well in spite of that. But let someone who, to MY knowledge has never laid a single post on this board get a little tickle of a slam and they get all bent outta shape??? If they are lurking, they MUST HAVE NOTICED that we are a "who can out gross who" type of bunch...sometimes the thickest people have the thinnest skin.

Thanks guys. Yeah, we have about a 3 foot hole under the eve on the side of the house. Just found out that the garage door opener is fried too. The guy is finally here now...so he's on the roof to find where it actually entered the house. We have a couple of rafters in the attic that look like string cheese...completely shredded!

Rog, Bud has a list going of all of his electronics! We have to have an electrician sign a lightning affidavit and they *should* cover it all.

Sonya- Lightning struck our former home once. It was really weird, as it struck the cap to the fireplace in the family room. This HUGE electric ball hung in front of the TV in the family room for only a split second, but long enough to imprint on your brain. The picture tube on that TV was de-gaused, but otherwise, okay. The drywall nails on either side of the fireplace "poked" out, too. The lightning nailed everything on one particular circuit which led to the master bedroom & garage. It got the TV, VCR, cordless phone, & clock radio in the bedroom. In the garage it got the garage door opener & timer to the sprinkler system---but not the air handler for the A/C. It also got a water pipe under the slab that must have been too close to wire mesh or rebar. Thankfully, we noticed the sound of running water in just a few days, or we would have had a sink-hole under the house.

Do as Jen said....have an electrician check EVERYTHING. Oh, and BTW, surge protectors do not protect against a lightning strike. They only prevent a power surge on the electrical lines from harming equipment. If you truly want to protect expensive electronics from getting fried, you need to get a battery back-up. We have one on our TV & sound system.

Battery back up won't help. Lightning can and will jump the circuit board. Lightning can jump from the clouds to the ground it can jump a circuit board Just ask my neighbor it fried every electric circuit in his house. Even the Batteryback up and his Generator. Not to mention the firewood all over my back yard when the lightning hit the tree next to this house. The clean up crew said the lightning hit the tree jumped to the house fried everything in there came out the electric meter down the wires to the generator fried it ran back up the power wires to the tranformer that the nieghbor hood shares fried that and than jumped to the ground. The tranformer box looks all swollen now. the lightning also fried every thing that was hooked to any electric circuit in the house from light bulbs to TV's even his Gas stove

I will post a picture of the electric box just as soon as I can take a picture and upload it.

des1954
07-10-2008, 08:53 AM
You're correct on one point....if the lightning directly hits the electronics, ZAP, POOF, POP!!! Gone for good. However, if it hits the romex & travels via that path, the battery back-up will take the hit first. Bottom line, nothing is sacred when it comes to lightning. You can only protect yourself the best way you know how.

I have seen lightning do some weird things - living in the lightning capital of the country (West Coast of Florida). Back in the days you HAD to rent telephone equipment from your local telco, I saw many a phone that had been melted by a direct lightning hit. I've also seen "glass" made from lightning running thru the ground or sand. It makes a beautiful "tree branch" like pattern.

Those so called "surge protectors" do more harm than good. I have seen a few actually be the cause of the fire. The last big storm we had knocked power out to a little over 1/3 of the community I work in (old, poorly maintained infrastructure) The only fire we had on my shift from the storm was from a surge protector.
