View Full Version : Scooter question
We are taking mom to WDW and she has a hard time walking long distances, so we are thinking about renting her a Electric scooter. I have seen you can rent them at the parks but they sell out fast, who should we rent from if we dont rent in the parks? Also she has never driven on before, will she be ok getting on and off the busses?
Thank you for the help

Welcome. Here is a list of places that DIS posters have reported renting from:

My DD uses a manual and a power wheelchair, so we don't have experience with ecvs. It appears not to be too difficult to get the hang of driving one from what I can see. People report the first time getting on the bus is a little tricky, but after that it's easier. One thing that might help is to have her practice backing up since she will need to back onto the bus lift. A lot of people don't know that and backing up for the first time when you have to get it in a specific place is hard.

I have rented from Walker Mobility. They deliver for free to your hotel (and pick it up too). We LOVED having the scooter. I think it was the best purchase of all on our trip. Walker Mobility has a coupon that you can use (it says only for reservations made during the month of April and travel must be completed by late June...or was it late July? ...anyway it says it on the coupon) . Visit http://www.orlandotripplanner.com and click on the Walker Mobility link from the Main Page or the Special Needs Page. If you can use it , it's $10.00 off!!
