Can you buy beer (like a 12 pack) at the resorts? We are staying at the POR in three weeks and a cold beer would be refreshing after a day at the park!

They do sell beer in the gift shop of Disney resorts, but I believe they only sell it by the can. IIRC, it's about $3-3.50/can.

You can have it delivered to your resort from garden grocer or wegoshop. Then you can also have cases of water, breakfast items, snacks, etc. delivered with it.

Take the bus to downtown disney. get off at the 2nd bus stop walk across the street to the Hess gas station and pay much less than you would at disney. You can also get pop and snacks while you are there.

but at inflated prices, even at the lounges and pool bars, real expensive if you drink alot. We love the grocery stop that our car service gives us in route to WDW, a Publix with a liquor store next door, talk about one stop shopping. We get beer, wine, liquor and pop plus all the fixing for pool sandwiches and snacks and save a ton of money over Disney's prices. No problem hauling it all in to the resort, we stay deluxe and they have fridges in all of them but we have used cooler, collapsible type in the past. Stays of 10-12 nights requires quite a bit of beer etc times two people and nothing beats having a cold one or two around the pool in the afternoon and evenings, just to beat the heat and knock the edge off. Delivery services are good, never used them but I hear they deliver beer plus your groceries for a modest fee.

I checked with Gardengrocer.com and they will deliver alcohol-all I have to do is fax over my ID!!

Go with Pepe's advice...

Beer is ridiculously overpriced at WDW. Get as much as you need beforehand and keep it in your fridge or cooler. There are a few grocery stores nearby, including a nice Publix with a liquor store on 192. BTW, they have an awesome selection.

Cheers
Mike

I bought a six pack of Bud at Pop Century. I think it was $10. I didn't think that was a bad price because Petals Pool Bar was much more expensive.

Beer at OKW was $12 for a six pack.

What brands of beer do they sell? Is it just the normal Coors & Budweiser, or do they also sell good beer? :)

They told me to let them know whatever I wanted and they would take care of it-I would assume that would mean good beer also!!

Not saying I wouldn't drink the stuff, just wouldn't use my own money to drink the stuff.

Give me a Sam Adams or Widmer Hefeweizen and I am in heaven.

What about drinks in the beer family - ie, wine coolers? Could I get those as well at the place across from downtown disney?

Will you have a rental car? You're better off buying the beer if you're out and about and bringing it back. Will be a lot cheaper.

LOL. I was just joking with you. Although I'm a Bud Man, I do go through my phases. I used to hate Heniken because it was too bitter to me and lately I love the stuff, so go figure.

However, a notable mention is Yueng Ling. Not sure if the spelling is right, but it is a great beer.

If they sell beer, they sell wine and coolers. In FL this type of liquor can be purchased in grocery/drug/convienence stores. We have purchased this type of liquor in Ekerts, I guess now Rite Aid just off Disney property on I think 535.

I second the Hess station idea. Much cheaper than buying at the resorts, and they also had Yuengling, which was not available in the resort.

If you're staying at The Boardwalk, there's a Hess station just across the street from the main entrance. I walked there a few times to pickup some beer, soda, and snacks.
