Hi all! I'm relatively new here and am about to make a reservation at the AS Music for January 2003. I was hoping to get some input on some reservation requests. Any suggestions on which building to request? We'd like to be close to the main hall but away from pool noise. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks! :D

Welcome to the DIS boards. I stayed at ASMusic in January, 2002. First building is Calypso, but it seems to me there'd be alot of pool noise. I stayed in Jazz Inn, which is second from the Main Building, in the back on 3rd floor. Very quiet and a short walk to get my morning coffee.

We stayed in the Calypso building and had no problem with noise when we were there. We were on the back side of the building so maybe that made a difference,I don't know.I am racking my brain for the next set of buildings back, but can't think of them :( I believe either this site or Deb Wills has the layout map.You could request one of those buildings if you were worried about noise at Calypso.

Back Side of Calypso?

Thanks for your response...do you remember whether or not those rooms were considered preferred?

There are two of each buildings(2 calypso,2 Jazz etc...)and the buildings are shaped like a capital T.The top bar of the T(horizontal)faces the pool, one building on each side.So you get the long part of the T(vertical)faces away from the pool so you don't get all thatnoise.I guess.Does that make sense?Anyway, maybe you should go to the Dis home page and under Resorts is a map section. The picture is WAY batter than I am at explaining the layout. When we were there they did not charge for "preferred" buildings, but I believe all of Calypso is considered "preferred" now.And if it was me,I'd pay the $10 to stay there. You walk enough all day at the parks, who wants to lug an extra 10 minutes at the end of the day?Not me :smooth:
