$10 Fee at AllStars for particular buildings??

Can someone please explain this to me. Do you pay an extra $10 for a closer building at this resort. We are staying at ASMu in May and have 3 times in the past. I would like to request the Calypso building but I thought I read somewhere that this is the building with the fee.

I don't know which buildings have the preferred views - my 2 cents worth is that I wouldn't pay $10 more for the preferred view at any of the All Stars. All the rooms are the same and the views are fairly similar. In fact, I usually prefer to be back in one of the corners where it's peaceful Just my opinion. :rolleyes:

You read it correctly! Fantasia, Calypso and Surf's Up buildings at the All Stars are all $10 additional/night. Basically its due to their location to the pool and food courts.

I stayed at ASM May 2001 and had my trip all prepaid through my Travel Agent b4 I left. We were supposed to be in rooms in Mighty Duck section and I asked could I have a room in Fantasia as I wanted to be closer to pool and bus stop. They changed me no problem and I did not pay any fee.

I know that they added this fee fairly recently. I think the fee is only applied if you request one of these buildings at the time of making the ressie. If you get to check in and ask for a specific building and it's available...you most likely will not be charged the extra $10 per night.

The $10 extra preferred buildings became effective in January 2002.

FAX FAX FAX your requests 5 days before you arrive. I did this in Feb. and DID not get charged. I asked for Building 1, but NOT facing the pool, and I got it, about 20 feet from the Elevator, it was great! Ask for Non-smoking if also needed!;)
