Is there a link that explains banking, borrowing, transferring etc. We are new to this whole process and would like some help with the basics.

I would start with the DVC member website. Then ask away here as well.

Banking: You "bank" points from current use year to be used in the next use year. These points have to be used in that use year or lose them. You can't bank points a second time.

Borrow: "borrow" points from the next use year to use in current use year. Again, points borrowed have to be used or they are gone.

Not sure about transfer.
