Disney books one season at a time. I would start looking in mid-late July and check it once a week or so.

Last year the FL Res rates for October stays came out mid-August - and just as an example the FL Res FW cabin rate for 10/10-10/14/2007 was previously posted by a DISer @ $209 per night last year :goodvibes

If they really want to stay in a FWC cabin they could book now and then continue to check back for the FL resident rate and when it comes available have them get the FL resident rate applied to their ressie. FWC can be very popular.
Like a PP said the FL resident rates come out in blocks and usually within a day or so of the AP rates.

Just throwing this in here, because I had been looking for the rate everywhere (to compare to this year) and finally dug out my CC statements
WIth my Fl resident discount I staid in the value season at WL for 210 a night in the courtyard view in Dec 2007
PS first post :)
