We are going for our first trip to the Fort in our new-to-us MH. We will have our dog with us and will need a pet-friendly loop. Which area should I ask for? Pretend I'm clueless and be kind :rotfl:

If I had pets I like the 300 loop. Its close to the marina. We always stay in the 200 loop(non pet loop). But now that we take golf carts with us I don't care what loop we are in as long as we are at FW. :)

I'd pick either loop 100, 200 300 400, not 500 600 700 800 900 1000, but some people also like 1100 1200 1300 1400. I hate 1500 my trailer doesn't fit in there.
then I'd go with 1600-1800 if the others are booked. 1900 is a swamp. I'd fax the reservations center with my request.

Well, we made our reservations. I tried to request 300 or 900, but to no avail. The CM said that we can't request those sites unless we are getting a preferred site (and paying the preferred $ I guess). When we get there we can ask for an upgrade I guess.
So we're stuck with 1800 or 1900. Maybe I should fax that I specifically want 1800 if 1900 is a swamp?
Anyhow, I'm very excited to have our first FW ressies!

Avoid 1900 if at all possible! Small, tight spaces. We couldn't even put out our awnings! 1600 was a pet loop in January (not sure about now), and the sites in that loop are nice.
You didn't tell us how long your MH is -- that might make a significant difference in what loops are suggested to you.

26'...the CM registered it as 30' for whatever reason. I didn't argue :)

we prefer the 1800 loop, its really quiet and has a nice big dog walking area-canal right behind it. If you like pease and quiet its the best. But you might want to reserve a golf cart rental for your entire stay, its quite a ways from everything. Most people have or rent golf carts, its just so fun, a big part of the Fort experience. Have fun planning, when are ya'll going?

Thanks :) ...we're going August 3-6. We know it'll be crazy hot. I don't know if I'll be able to convince DH into a golf cart rental. We will be on a super tight budget for this trip.

If anyone's still reading this post ( ;) )...Well, I decided to upgrade to preferred...after all, it was only $30 more total. Hopefully we'll get loop 300- that's what I requested. I like how close it is to the beach and since I may not convince DH into a golf cart rental, this is more practical.

We stayed in loop 600 in 2006. It was a little tight for our 38' fifth wheel, but once it was in place it was nice. This year we are going and staying on one of the new premium sites. With our new 42' fifth wheel we hope that they are larger than the old preferred sites.
If you rent a golf cart, or have one, I don't think it really matters which loop your on in regards to convenience. With a golf cart it's easy to get around.

We stayed in 333 this past Nov with our 32 ft TT if you can get the 300's thats great close to marina ,if you fish your close to lake
golf cart not necessary but fun if you can get it plus makes your feet feel better after a long hot day in the parks the pet loops that are on the updated list are perfered 1800,1600,300 premiun 500,700,800,900,1200,1300 but these are not all swtched yet some are not pet loops yet some are with the new premium sites some are switched over some aren't depending on when you go but 300 is nice good luck and have a magical trip
