I've been to LeCellier many times before and it isn't in my list of "must do" restaurants (for the record, I almost always agree with Kevin's restaurant reviews). But now, my plans have changed for my September trip and I'm going with someone who has never been before. His niece has highly recommended LeCellier. So, since I'm going to make him try the escargot at Chef de France, I decided to try and accomodate his request.

Of course we are well into our 180 day window and they are booked solid. Since we would be a party of two, and there are precious few tables for two in this restaurant, my chances of scoring a ressie were slim to none. Then I remembered a particular DISUnplugged episode which discussed this kind of problem.

The advice? 1. be flexible with your meal time (absolutely nothing was available all week) 2. if you have a large party split it up (doesn't apply here) 3. if you are a party of two, try for a table for three or four (SCORE!!! we're now booked at 11:45 on 9/29 for a party of four)

If I hadn't been a faithful listener, I would have never thought to do this. Do I feel guilty? Naahhh!

Thanx Again!!!

What about a party of 5??? Thanks to another Diser we were able to get an ADR for a party of 4 @Le Cellier (not an ideal time but we took it...really wanted a late lunch or early dinner but will settle for @2pm...) will they turn us away with an extra person? Should I try to get a table for 6 (highly unlikely this will be available since we are going in September during free dining.) :confused3 :confused3

You betcha! It worked for me too, and I would not have known about making a ressie for 3 or 4, instead of 2, if were not for the Podcast Crew. Generally, I'm a go by the rules kind of person but it is SO wrong that WDW will not book a party of two, when there are obviously tables available, that I don't have any trouble at all in making a ressie for 3 or 4 when it's only DH and I.
