We have our trip planned and I need to make ADRs before it's too late. We may only go to a park one day and we still haven't decided which one. My question is, what are good TS restaurants outside of the parks? And are there many with characters? I'd rather do a lunch or dinner for them and I'm scared there won't be much if we don't go in the parks. I'd love some suggestions.

Thanks!

I don't know of any resort restaurants that have a character lunch. Chef Mickey's is a good character meal, and you can walk from the front of the MK, but it fills up fast. Also, there is the 1900 Park Fare dinner at the Grand Floridian, those characters for dinner are Cinderella, Prince Charming, the wicked stepmother, and the stepsisters. Also close to the MK is 'Ohana at the Polynesian resort, but it is not a character meal for dinner.

I can't think of any character meals close to Epcot for dinner at all. There are some restaurants on the Boardwalk area that may be a little easier to get an ADR closer to your trip though.

In the AK area, the only place is the Animal Kingdom Lodge, and there they have Boma and Jiko; neither has characters. We've been to Boma twice, and we love it. The AKL is so beautiful too.

Hope this helps!

Thanks. I'll look and see what they posted for the hotels. I don't have to be near a park, but would like a nice/fun experience. We've just been to the parks a lot and I'll be 6 months pregnant at the time we go and I don't think I can take more than one day at the parks in the summer heat! So we'll go somewhere one day and eat ourselves silly and relax the rest of the trip for once! I'm looking forward to more relaxing instead of always on the go.

Cape May at the Beach Club has a character breakfast buffet that many here seem to like.

The only character lunches are CRT (MK), Crystal Palace (MK), Garden Grill (Epcot), Princess Storybook (Epcot). Sometimes, during the free dining period, Chef Mickey's adds lunch.

Gulliver's Grill in the Swan Hotel apparently has a character dinner. Looks like only two characters though - either Rafiki and Timon or Goofy and Pluto.

If you want a character lunch out of the parks, how about a late breakfast reservation at Chef Mickey's? It will be an earlier lunch but still will work out for your - and you'll have time to enjoy the rest of your day.

I'll call and see if they have a lunch. We're just not big breakfast people. My dd definitely wants a princess meal so we'll probably find one at the park when we go that day. I'm so excited!

They do not have a lunch. If they offer lunch during free dining, it will be announced. They usually don't announce that until closer to the free dining period.
