Wow, took us a while because we were just waiting for the pixie dust to be sprinkled in our direction.

Look forward to joining in on the boards again, have I read correctly that the old boards have gone for good as I did find it hard to post here during the evenings recently.

I've only just found my way back too- we have a lot of posting to catch up on!
I gave up trying to post last night- I kept getting "server busy" messages- not very tech minded so not sure if this is a problem with my computer or with the boards? It hasn't happened today yet.
But it's great to be back anyway!

Lindsey, not a problem with your computer, it's with the Boards and the amount of traffic we are dealing with recently. I must say, I've not had much trouble with the Server Busy message for a while, but last night did seem a good deal worse than usual.

The 'Server Busy' message had improved over the last week or so, but did seem a bit worse again last night - maybe everyone in the US logging back on after Easter Break?

Stick with it - I am sure it will be sorted out once and for all soon :)

I think that the mods are best placed to indicate what has happend to the old UK boards - I'm sure they'll post a reply or put a suitable link in for you.

The problem, as I see it, is that the US DIS is a "victim of it's own success" with so many users and guests logging on or browsing.

It's just that the US working day coincides with the UK evening, so the poor old servers have struggled a bit to keep pace with demand.

The service has got a bit better lately, so here's hoping it will continue.

Sadly when the boards went we were unable to inform anyone unless we had their e-mail address.
We asked for a redirect and I now understand that the Webmasters are working on the UK redirect, BUT the problem is that it takes weeks for the internet authority in the UK to switch IP addresses - since it can be done in a day on the US sites, Alex did not know this at first.
