View Full Version : Would Any Disigner Be Willing To Help Me!

I don't even know if this can be done, but I thought I would give it a try!!
Michelle personalized a wonderful stick figure family for my upcoming trip to WDW. Originally I thought I would put it on a white shirt, but my "Disney Crew" wants to use red shirts instead!! So I am wondering if any of you designers would be able to put a black border around this instead of the red one? I think it would just stand out better on a red shirt.
I thought I could copy and paste the image here in this thread, but that doesn't work. Is Michelle the only one who can change the color of the border? If anyone else can do it, please let me know. I currently have the image saved in Word, and it is in Michelle's design thread and I know the exact page it is on and the post number.
Thanks so much for any help. I just hate to bug Michelle because I know she has so many requests for designs.

Oh my gosh - that was fast!!! I just left the boards to check my e-mail and I saw that I already had a reply.
The design is on page 156 - post 2334.
Thanks, Lisa!

Lisa ~
That is exactly what I wanted!! Thanks so much for doing this. I would never be able to do anything like this.
I just saw the pictures of your kids in your signature and they are wearing stick figure family shirts!! Too cute!! I think they look good on the white shirts too. I'm kind of nervous to do red shirts because I have read here on the boards about the red of the shirt bleeding through white backgrounds. Everyone seems to think that it happens if you iron for too long. That is why I wanted to do white shirts. I have never done iron ons before and I'm a little nervous, but I'm going to try it on a red shirt and see how it comes out. I'm printing my design today and washing my shirt and hopefully I will have the courage to heat the iron up tomorrow!!
Thanks again for your help with this. I have posted on various threads about how generous all these designers are with their time and talent. It really is amazing. When I showed my husband the picture of the stick figure family he asked me how much that cost him!! When I told him what these designers do here on these boards, he couldn't believe it.

I am so glad that I could help. I know that I have received TONS of help from everyone here. Paying forward :thumbsup2 I love this stick figure disign, I make it every year now!
Oh and relax about the shirts. I actually like the red better too. Here is a pic of my girlies with the red shirts. Some advice on the ironing is don't get it too hot and leave it on long enough (just read the directions).
I get so many compliments on the shirts, you will really be pleased :thumbsup2

I know how you feel. I had to reorganize my folder for my disney items so I knew what was for our trip and what was just for fun. The DISigners on here are just wonderful. I am trying to learn to use the paint shop pro but it is becoming a slow process.

Do the designs need to be flipped/reversed before printing the transfers?
It depends on what type of transfer you use. If you are going to use the "light" transfers (for light colored shirts), then you need to flip/reverse the image before printing. If you are using "dark" transfers (for darker colored shirts), then you do not flip/reserve the image.
Most people on these boards recommend using the dark transfers, as they give a more vibrant color when ironed on and they seems to hold up better after washing.
I just made my first two shirts using the dark transfers. I was ironing stick figure family on to a red shirt. I had read here on the boards that red shirts can be tricky to do because the red can bleed through the transfer and that is exactly what happened to me on my first shirt. I asked for some suggestions and was told to iron for less time than the directions say. I got up the nerve yesterday to try another shirt and this time it turned out just fine. I cut the ironing time way down. The stick figure family looks so nice on a red shirt.

Lisa:
These disigns are great. When you get a chance, could you create some disigns for me. I actually need two.
The first one is for the kids. Instead of "Making Magical Memories", could you make it read "Our 1st Visit"? We are going in 09.
The kids are:
Jackson (5)
Kerry(3) Can she be alittle shorter
The second disign is for my DH and me. Is it possible to have the Walt Disney World 2009 at the top and then the stick people.
Dad
Mom
Jackson
Kerry
We're not going until 2009 so I'm patient.
Thanxs so much for taking the time to do this.

Here are the 2 DISigns. Let me know if you want me to change the names of "Mom and Dad" in the second one and if you like the WDW on the bottom of the first. :goodvibes

Lisa:
Is it okay to make a few changes. On the first one, can you take off the Mom and Dad, leaving Jackson and Kerry, and add the 2009 to the WDW. (Did that make sense?)
On the second one, can you add Jackson and Kerry?
Thanks again for your wonderful work. :)

Not a problem to fix at all. I saved it in a program that is easy to manipulate. I am going to start working, but let me see if I have this right, Just the kids in the first one, adding 2009 and on the second one the whole family??? Is that right?? Seriously, no prob to fix :goodvibes
OK, here they are. Let me know if this is what you were thinking :)

You got it! This is the kids 1st visit so I thought if I put it on the shirt, they might have some magical moments.

There is a great thread on how to do the dark transfers here (http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1772213). The dark ones are nice because you don't have to invert it (as you do with the light ones). All you need to do is print it out on Dark transfer paper and iron on. Easy peasy!!!
