Can anyone please confirm that there are 'NO' smoking areas once you get airside at Manchester Airport. We are going to WDW for Xmas and out of five of us travelling, four of us are smokers (lepers) and we're wondering whether to stay landside as long as possible.
Any info on this would be appreciated.

I found this on the website
Manchester Airport goes smoke free
All landside areas at Manchester Airport will be smoke free from Monday 14 May. As of this date, passengers wishing to smoke will be directed to use designated smoking areas outside the terminal buildings and will no longer be permitted to smoke inside the concourse areas.
However, once through the security channels and into the departure lounges, a designated smoking area in each terminal will remain in place until midnight 30 June.
In line with the new law, the whole airport will become smoke free on 1 July.
The new external smoking areas will be located outside Terminal 1 Arrivals, Terminal 2 Arrivals and Departures and Terminal 3 ground level doors.

Isn't the 1st July date the day in 2007 that England went smoke free?
An updated version of text above can be found here (http://www.manchesterairport.co.uk/manweb.nsf/Content/Nosmoking) stating the whole airport is smoke free with external smoking areas outside the terminal buildings.

Once you are through check in. There is a place you can go. It is just a car parking area and you have to go in the lifts. It is signposted as a smoking area, or it was in September. Once you go through Security in the Terminal Building, there is nowhere. I am quite a heavy smoker and found that it didn't really bother me as much as I thought it would, although once through immigration and out of the airport at Sanford, the first thing I did was light up a cigarette and I nearly collapsed:rotfl2: so make sure you are sitting down. I think we went around 12/13 hours without.
