At the Hard Rock there is Camp Lil Rock. My son (6) went one night and loved it. He asked to go back a second night. I cant remember how much it was an hour (maybe 12.00) and they charge you for a meal (if they eat). It was nice to have a few hours to go ride the rides that he wasnt tall enough to ride. There were video games (guitar hero, playstation, xbox) coloring and drawing, they made stuff. theres more but I cant remember.
I know the Royal Pacific has child care, we have never used it though, and Im not sure about Portofino, but im sure you can call concierge and they can give you info.
You do need to call early in the day or the day before to reserve a spot.
hope this helps

Universal/Loews hotels also use in-room sitters called "Kids nite out". http://www.kidsniteout.com/ I think they are the same company that take care of camp-lil rock.

Hi jillybeene,
I have a 5 year old who would like to try Lil Rock (or at least we would like him to try it :)). I wouldnt want to leave him unless there were other kids that he could play with, how many were there when you tried it?
I presume the cost was about $12 per hour, right?
Thanks Michael

We went 4th of July week last year. It was the middle of the week and there were about 3 or 4 other kids there. Maybe weekends are more crowded, im not sure. They were very nice to him and he went straight in, right to the guitar hero, and he never looked back. :worship: <----yay camp lil rock

Thanks, I think he would enjoy it and it will give us a chance to have a nice quiet meal at one of the HRH restaurants.

yes, it was very nice...we left him for about 2 1/2 - 3 hours and they ask you if you want them fed. They have like pizza, chicken tenders, ect. and they charge 6.99 or 7.99 for the meal. He totally loved it and if hes happy everybody was happy :rotfl:

click on that link for more info on the child care info at the hotels
below is a summary of hotel child care.
Universal Orlando® Resort offers a universe of thrills and entertainment for families to share together, but there are definitely times when mom and dad want to spend some time by themselves. Guests staying at Universal Orlando’s three on-site Loews Hotels can take advantage of each hotel’s supervised children’s activity center, where kids can be safely monitored and entertained while the adults enjoy dinner and a movie at CityWalk®, a night out on the town, or just a few hours’ peace and quiet.
Hotel Children’s Activity Centers
• Campo Portofino® — Loews Portofino Bay Hotel
• Camp Lil’ Rock® — Hard Rock Hotel®
• The Mariner’s Club — Loews Royal Pacific Resort
How it Works
At each location you can drop off your children for a night of computer games, DVD movies, arts and crafts, snacks, board games, books and other activities. The highly-trained staff will entertain your little ones until you return to collect them. The activity centers are open during select evening hours and available to children ages 4 – 14 (must be toilet trained.) There is a fee (based on number of children and hours spent in the center) and advance reservations are recommended.
In addition, your hotel concierge can help arrange for area babysitting services. Be sure to contact the hotel before your visit to ask for details.
Hours, prices and other details subject to change.

thanks peeps.
It is something we will be doing. It will mean us older kids:hyper: can have some fun on our own, dont often get chance for that.
Whats the min and max amount of hours you can leave them?
