So I'm wondering, is it just me, or did anyone else think that Hades' comedy monologue in the "Hercules" show was hilarious?!
We were really sad to see that it has been removed. I know the jokes were corny, but we still busted a gut with laughter anyone. Just wondering if we were the only ones!

Hubby and I both enjoyed the monologue. I think it's what made the musical stand-out as being special, wacky and different. The jokes are silly, but the delivery hand and face gestures were funny. Hopefully, it will return.

Maybe they have a new cast and the "new" Hades hasn't gotten into the rhythm of the role yet?

I hope so. I would also say that his wit really made the show funnier, and I'll miss it, if it has simply been written out.

Say it isn't so!:( Herc was our favorite. It was just a little different each time. So what if it was corny. We love corn!

We asked around and were told that the monologue has been removed...not temporarily, but permanently to shorten the show. I sure wish this wasn't the thing they took out! I loved hearing the jokes about "the yellow people on Deck 5 who fill your kids full of sugar before returning them to you at bedtime" and his silly riddles. As you say, Tiiiigergirl, it was a little different each time, and it was always hilarious!!
Also, did anyone see the "moose Muse" who was on for the last two contracts (he's gone now)? He was great!! He was a really chubby guy and he played that up for lots of laughs.

Well, that really does stink then. I think his actually interacting with the audience is what really drew everyone into the show. I think I may find something else to do for that evening. :(

That is very disappointing!!! It was the highlight of the show! Let's hope Matt & the gang are cruisin' the boards and notice the reaction..
When you are on a cruise vacation, what difference does three or four minutes make, anyway??
How about it Dis'ers.... Is this acceptable???

On our 3/16 7day Hades did do his monologue. That is what makes the show. I hope the powers that be that DO read this board for feedback find out that people LIKE that part of the show the best. "The yellow people," I laugh every time. Kathy

Say it ain't so! :(
I'm going on the Magic in May, and I want to see the monologue! It was hiliarious!
Hercules was my favorite show from when I was on the Magic before, and I'm looking forward to it again.
I even got the Hercules DVD last weekend to watch to refresh my memory of the story.
C'mon Disney, restore the show to its full glory!

Maybe this is boat specific - it may have been just cut from the Wonder.
Let's see if this is the case. Specify Magic or Wonder and if they had it or not.

Magic 2/23 cruise--I remember the monologue being quite funny. Not sure if it was shorter than on previous cruises. Each actor who plays Hades gives the monologue a distinctive twist.
I enjoy seeing the shows performed by different casts. The current "moose" muse is really good. My husband thought the current Meg was the best ever. (This was our fifth cruise.)
For those of you who were thinking of passing up this show, I urge you to give it a try. It has the broad humor of Aladdin or Emperor's New Groove. If you like those movies, you'll like Hercules.

I'm going to take a wild guess here....
The monologue was still in on the Wonder when we sailed in Feb. and gone last weekend. Also, the cast had completely changed...thus, they took it out when they did the changeover. If it is still on the Magic, they might be planning to remove it when that cast changes over (although I hope not, since we are sailing on the Magic in May).
Oh well, at least I'm glad to see that hubby and I aren't the only ones who loved that part of the show!
