Hi - My family and I are travelling from Manchester to Orlando in a few weeks. We are travelling later than usual - usually it is a morning flight. What food options are there at Terminal 2 at Manchester Airport. Looking on the internet it seems there is only Starbucks, Burger King and the food court. Does the bar not serve food?

Where would be best to eat lunch?

We will be unable to use any of the lounges we will have a 6 year old with us...

We were delayed at Manchester last year - the food court is about the only place apart from BK. It is expensive & not that good.

You can also pick up sandwiches at Boots - the meal deals are not bad value.

The Radisson hotel is attached to the terminals so if you don't mind spending a bit more then they have a casual restaurant which I am sure is better than the food at the terminal.

We always check in, then have a walk over to Terminal 1 for food and look round the shops, (takes us about 10-15 mins) more choice and helps pass the time :thumbsup2

We have travelled from terminal 2 loads of times but usually for an early morning flight - we usually just have a bacon sandwich or something before passport control. This time we have an afternoon flight so wanted somewhere where we could all as a family sit down and have something to eat in a nice atmosphere - not burger king at the departure gate, or in the scrum and noise of the food court....was secretly hoping that the bar did bar meals of some sort like in other airports. Oh well.......may look at terminal 1

We are staying at the radisson the night before we fly were going to go into
T1 for tea but the pub and food court up the stairs is boarded up and you have to go airside to be able to eat there so not as many options now.

The majority of T1 has now gone airside so the choice is quite limited.

I usually save my Boots points and we often have meal deals! At least you don't pay over the odds!

We stayed at the SAS Radisson last year and both the breakfast and dinner meals were lovely.

We did get a snack at a cafe at T2 but it wasn't up to much.

We were also booked in at one of the executive lounges (as a freebie) where we could get snacks and drinks. It was also a lot better sitting in this lounge than the crowded one downstairs. Manchester Airport has no separate areas for gate seating and departure lounge so the whole area gets very crowded.

We went for a look around last weekend to get us in the mood and its all changing there. T1 you can't go past the check in desks unless you are flying. All shops/restaurants and pub are now air side so if you aren't flying you can't go through. Literally no where to eat. T2 will be the same by this summer, they are changing so you can't go tp shops or restaurants unless checked in and flying! The only place you can eat is the hotels so whats the betting their prices go up for people staying the night before flying!

Thats really rotten! I always have a good 30-40 mins with my mum having a coffee, before she goes through security, when she's jet setting alone! 9 hrs + is a long time for an elderly lady to be on her own.... it'll be a shame we can't have a sit and coffee before she goes.:worried:
