Are there other females who go to Palos for high tea alone? I think it sounds neat, but DH does not. He'll be more than happy to stay with the kids while I do this. I don't want to go and then be the 5th wheel with a bunch of couples.

Why not be a 5th wheel? It's tea, not dinner! It's fun... you're not crashing a romantic rendezvous.

Dear dijid,
I went to High Tea by myself on our last cruise. I was fortunate, I was seated at a table next to 2 gals I meet on Cruisecritic.com. It gave us a chance to have a nice get to know you chat. I am sure there are folks on this board going on the same cruise, see if you can hookup and don't be afraid to be the 5th wheel.

There was a woman last week having high tea alone, seemed to have had just as good a time as everyone else. (And no one pointed or whispered!) Chatted some with the mother/daughter at the next table. I'd say if you're comfortable dining alone at home, go for it!!

I went to tea alone,as DH had little interest. I had a very nice time. Wouldn't hesitate to do it again.
