I don't pop on to this forum too often these days so sorry if this is old news. But we were at WDW last week and I wanted to report that those in power chairs need to transfer to one of WDW chairs just as in the past.
Some months ago I read that the procedure had changed to allow power chairs all the way through the queue. I approached a CM to make sure and he said no. As we chatted, I told him I had read of the change online and he said it was that way for a short time but that there was an "incident." He didn't elaborate however.

Thanks for posting that info.:thumbsup2 I had been wondering about that. It's quite a chore just to get DH on the ride. But we have been considering it, since the ride was updated. A transfer into their chair & then onto the boat will make this even more difficult.

thanks for the update.
When we were at WDE in April, we were able to take DD's manual wheelchair to the boarding area then a CM moved it to the exit. DD is not able to sit in one of the park wheelchairs, but we are able to lift her into the ride boat.
I can see that a power chair could cause some issues that a manual chair may not - like the CM having problems with getting it to the exit. Even with a manual chair, they still encouraged switching to a park wheelchair if possible when we were there.
