Help - I'm so confused! If we go to the Main Street Bakery for dinner can I order the following on the DDP for my DS4 using his Child CS credit? I didn't see this restaurant on the Dis list of DDP locations not offering children's menu.

Ham Sandwich - $7.49
Whole Milk - $1.99
Carrot Cake - $3.99

Here's where I saw this recent menu

Not sure the answer, but I just wanted to let you know that the sandwiches there are all "Grab & Go" (made fresh, but they pre-wrap it that day). The sandwiches are a good size, so you may want to save his credit & split the sandwich with him &/or only give him half. Also, be prepared to order dessert. No self-respecting 4 year old would ever leave the Main St. Bakery without wanting to order dessert! :rotfl: It's way too tempting

This is actually our favorite MK lunch place. The sandwiches are very good & great quality & the desserts are to die for! Especially the homemade ice cream cookie sandwiches!

Thanks!
I was thinking of using his CS credit and splitting it with him and saving mine.;)
I'm just confused if that qualifies as a child credit?

When I wrote Carrot Cake I laughed out loud - right, my 4 year old would eat just the frosting!

MSB doesn't have a kids menu per se, so you can order whatever with your CS credits. Our 5yo grabbed an Uncrustable PB&J and milk and was in heaven. My mom and shared the Basil Mozz sandwich, Carrot cake and bottled drink. The carrot cake is delightful and HUGE. There will plenty of icing for the both of you. :thumbsup2 We had this meal after SpectroMagic. We'd had a midday bfast ADR at Chef Mickey's and this was my next meal of the day: over 8hrs later and even with sharing we didn't finish the cake. I took the rest back to the room and it was great snack the next day.

Keep in mind there is not split of child and adult CS credits in the system. We are on the honor system to use the credits this way and you plan lines up with the policy, no worries Mom.

One thing to keep in mind, if he is like my nephew (5 at the time) for some reason he just lost his mind with glee at seeing the Uncrustables while they made my stomach turn. However, it was something we were sure he'd eat so he got one anytime he asked, 2 or 3 times. You could always get your meal and either use a snack credit to get the Uncrustable for him or just pay the $2 for the item. He might be fine to share the sandwich with you, but sometimes little people just want their food. For us we had plenty of CS credits as we almost always shared so we got him that meal and he ate it all. We erred on the side of making sure he gets enough. To be expected when he's travelled with grandma and auntie. ;)

One other stretch technique that worked for us: share a CS for breakfast. The Adult meal includes 2 beverages. We would get bottled water and a juice/chocolate milk for you know who. We'd share the juice/milk and take the water to the park, saving a snack credit for ice cream or other real snack while we were in the park. The breakfast platters are huge (eggs, potatoes, bread and meats).

Luckily we both hate PB&J :-)
So you brought up my 2nd question - when I get to the cashier I don't have to specify "Take this out of the Child Credit". It's really just the honor system and the CM watching it? Wow that's trusting of Disney.
I would have thought they could make their cash registers recognize the plan and who is on it - 2 Adult, 1 Child. Glad I don't have to triple check my receipt and make sure they dion't use a Adult CS when I ask for a Child CS. I hate being that lady that ties up the line!

Go ahead and say that to the CM, but I don't think they have a system to even ring it in as such. If the place had an actual kids menu and you were trying to buy 3A meals, then they could might you pay OOP for 1A meal. Honestly, it was late and I was hungry I don't know what we said. It also seemed my mother and nephew went off and got his meal while I stayed in line.

At our resort they were firm at the order stations on subbing on the kids meals. That's how we initially got to sharing 2 adult meals and found it was plenty for us. We don't eat meat and he loves pizza; not ideal on the CS kids menus. I'm happy he wanted the Uncrustable, I never expected that would be an option he'd happily choose.

All that said we ate plenty and well at WDW and are looking forward to returning with the plan at the end of the summer. I booked all buffets for TS, we can eat better with the choices on a buffet and all but one are character meals. There are also many CS options, incuding a good breakfast at the resort so I'm sure that will be fine too.
