Hi, All :flower3:
So about a year ago my DF started reading the DisBoards in preparation for, and obsession over, our trip in 2007 with a bunch of friends to DisneyWorld. We had been just the two of us in October 2006 - my first time to the World - and fell in love with the Mouse House. Kev discovered FairyTale Weddings and we were hooked!
WE'RE GETTING MARRIED AT WALT DISNEY WORLD!!!:cheer2:
We have enjoyed reading the PJs and TRs and hope that we'll get a good audience and lots of suggestions/help/positive feedback. So here we go....
Kevin and I met in some year/time I can't remember. We went to the same youth group for years and were around each other, but I have no remembrance of us speaking. He was close friends with my brother, and I still don't remember my bro mentioning him much. Then summer before my senior year of HS, and summer before his Sophomore year of college (University of Michigan..go BLUE!), we were playing ultimate frisbee with a group of old youth group friends. I sometimes can be shy and was a bit reluctant to join in the fun :rolleyes1 , when Kev said, "Jules, are you going to play?" I was stopped in my tracks. He called me by my family nickname, which melted my heart; and gosh darn it, he gave a damn! :cloud9: After that we hit it off.
We didn't start dating until I was in college and that was the beginning of 4.5 years of long distance relationship. I moved to FL after college, he was in Cali. Then I moved. Now we are engaged (as of Valentines 2008) and are encroaching on 5.5 yrs of bliss. It's about time we get married!
Kev proposed by hiding clues around his apartment, which led to the ring. :lovestruc
This is what we've chosen for our wedding so far....
Date: March 30, 2009
Location: WP
Size: 48 guests
Officiant: A man who is married to one of my favorite friends....and thus he is also a beloved friend
Photographer: Randy Chapman...booked him ASAP
Colors: Pink and Green

Characters: None
Wedding Party: Bride, Groom, Matron of Honor, Best Man
Attire: My dress is Demetrios, from the Sposabella collection...look for the one that is the collection cover at the website...it has a choker that I will cut off. I love this dress! Kev isn't allowed to look! :goodvibes
Groom and Groomsmen: Don't know yet
Matron of honor: Kristie Kelly for DFTW Cinderella gown! gorgeous!
Floral:
Mine: not sure yet...either pink roses with greenery or a cascade of orchids
Ceremony/Centerpieces: Thank you to Alisonswonderland who posted this in the Favorite Randy Pics thread

Invitations: From India we were originally going to order them from a place in New York but figured out that they were cheaper ordered directly from India
One day Kev and I were just sitting around. I thought to myself, "What kind of invitations did Cinderella have?" and then I thought "Scrolls!"
So I googled it and this was the result.

Holy cow I LOVE the scroll idea! I have been working on making my invitations but haven't been thrilled with the idea. I'm gonna try and do a scroll one. I also really like your BM jewelry. I want to get my girls something sparkly as their dresses are black. Overall, I think I LOVE all of your plans so far. Can't wait to hear more! :)

Okay, just had another idea about this before bed last night... or in my sleep??
I've been dreaming about wedding planning. It's scary.:rotfl:
Anyway, I think that at the reception I want to have the flowers surrounded by various heights of white pillar candles and tea votive candles. Nothing as tall as or taller than the flowers.
I still don't know what to do for place card holders or favors. We were originally going to get mouse ears personalized and have them do double duty. But they are min 12 dollars each - before personalization. We could probably afford that but if anyone has ideas on how to coordinate that effort or make it affordable, please let us know.
Also any suggestions for what Disney can do for place card holders (I heard they have edible ones :confused3 ), etc are welcome :thumbsup2

Hey y'all. I need help picking my shoes!
I'm not used to wearing more that a 2.5 in heel. But I think the platform might help and would also help for pics on the sand/grass.
The platform is a 4 in heel, weighs 7 ounces. The other is 3 3/4 inch, weighs 11 ounces.
I think the sandal goes better with my dress, and it has a shorter heel...but it weighs more.
What do you think?

Where abouts in MI were you guys?
I like both shoes, but remember that pointy heels stick into the ground very easily, so if you're going to do pictures on a grassy or sandy area, you'll have a problem unless you take them off!

Hey Mocharilla! We're from the Detroit suburbs, I'm from Rochester Hills and she's from Troy. I went to the University of Michigan for school and she ran off to Hope College in Holland, Michigan.
We live in Los Angeles, but are thinking we'll try and move back to MI someday....

Alright. I have a friend in RH and one of my best friends is from Troy (well, Moscow, originally, but she moved to Troy from there and then moved here). I'm from GR myself.
I've got a lot of friends at both UofM and Hope now.

Well, it seems the vote is for the wedges. But you wouldn't believe how painful four inches is in a wedge. I didn't really know until I went to the mall today with DF and tried on a 4 inch wedge....HOTTT but OUCHH!
I think the sandal might be better since it's 3 3/4 inch and if you look close about 3/4 to 1 inch of that is a platform in front..so really the strain is about 3 inches or 2 3/4, which I might be able to handle. I think I might buy them closer to when my dress comes in (anytime from August to Oct.), then return them if I don't like them. If I don't like them, I might go with something from the shop where I bought my dress. I am horrible, horrible, horrible with finding good-looking, comfortable shoes. So I won't torture eveyone here with my indecisiveness. :rotfl2: Feel free to keep voting or suggesting, though :listen:
I just wanted to share the joy of Crocs too....at the mall I bought these today. Not for the wedding. But I wish I had had them when I was in WDW in Sept last year. They are soooo comfy. They feel like part of my feet. They were about $38.00. A MUST have!

I am not going be any help with the shoe thing. I wore white satan ballet slippers. Partly because of comfort and the other part because my DH is only a couple of inches taller than me. Let me tell you I was comfy. I didn't get married in WDW though but plan on doing a VR sometime in the future. Maybe for my 25th, we've been married for almost 12 years. Enjoying your plans.

I originally wanted to do mickey ears for my favors too. Carrie (Lurkyloo) did and she had some great pictures. But, that would be a small fortune and a big part of the budget! I know Carrie and her DH actually got them on mainstreet on their own time because you aren't charged for the personalizations. They also practically live at Disneyland (or so it seems... I'm not jealous though! :) ) so it was a feasible option for them.

I thought about doing that. Kev is 5'8" and I'm 5'2.5" I don't want to look super short, but he is short too so I guess it would be fine. I'm a flats kind of girl -wear them to the office lots! Although I think I hold my shoulders back more in heels. Better posture would be good. :goodvibes

So, new developments!
:happytv:
Kev spent allot of time today calling DFW and Randy and his dad, and we finally came to the conclusion (and made a FINAL reservation) for our wedding date and location.
It is now the Wedding Pavilion at 10am on March 30th, 2009. I'm so relieved to have a finalized date and time. We were really nervous because about 15 spots were taken on Mondays in March, just in the past week. :scared1:
So now that that is settled... ON WITH THE PLANNING!! :cool1:
Oh, btw...if anyone was trying to get a Monday at the WP in March, a spot just opened up.... the one we had. :rotfl2:
I was instant messaging my sister in law today about whether or not she could be my second bridesmaid/bridesmatron:confused3 (my matron of honor is my bf). My brother's in the Army, so they might not be able to make it to the wedding. The Army has funky rules about traveling and time off. So if they move to another part of the world, that would also get in the way of her coming. So she has to think about it. Kev blew the surprise that I might ask one of our other friends if Sis turns it down - he told her on the phone while I was at the gym. That's okay, honey, I still love you:hug: .
So that is still up in the air...will update on it later
Going to the WP instead of YCG is great! It's going to save us the cost of renting nicer chairs, buying favors like fans/sun umbrellas. A sound system and organist is included, which cuts the cost we were going to spend on musicians. We saw someone BEO recently, and they had a sound system for an iPod - which was fairly reasonably priced. We think we might do that at our reception, and then we can load up our iPod with Disney music and romantic songs.
Of course there will be extra charges for moving the floral from WP to California Grill (our reception): I want to use the centerpieces to decorate the WP isle. That also means a fee for the pillars to place them on too, right??
A couple questions for the readers:
1.) What hidden costs can you list, that we should look out for?
2.) Did anyone decorate a private room at California Grill? What did you do?
We've got centerpieces, but I haven't thought beyond that and the edible placecard holders. We were going to go with the standard white linens. Advice?
3.) Gift bags....what do you recommend to put in them?
We plan on delivering the gift/welcome bags to people's rooms if we have time. Does anyone see a misjudgment in that?
4.) Is there anything anyone regrets not putting in their newsletters, or is glad they did? Kev is writing ours.
5.) Since we have time, date, place nailed down, I can reserve hair&makeup, steaming, etc. Any recommendations for who to reserve?
AND THE GRAND FINALE......DRUMROLL.....WE GET OUR CONTRACT THIS WEEK!

Okay, so today I had a right of passage experience.
Yes, sadly, all Disney brides must suffer the insufferable guest comments about expenses and distance. :rotfl: Today my sister-in-law gave me the 20 questions about where guests can stay, several of them implying that the cost was too high and the distance too far. If only we lived in Utopia and never had to have our bubbles burst! Since I live in reality, I just let it roll off my back. :rolleyes1
Most of my family hasn't experienced the magic of WDW, so they don't know what they would be missing by staying off property and cutting their visit time down to just our wedding. Cest le vie! That is their choice. I just hope we meet our room minimum!
DF insists that everything he has read on the boards ensures that people will snatch up extra rooms if our guests don't use up all the room nights. :)
I don't know if I need to encourage family to stay on property, or if it matters at all.

I think everyone goes through this! our wedding is in 3 weeks and we are still hearing it! This week DF says that he doesnt think his family even wants to go-more of an obligation, financial burdeon! Well his family has children who i'm sure will enjoy the week long vacation they are planning--who said you had to come for a week!:headache: if it is too much, dont make a huge trip out of it! Sorry for the rant! i really have gotten over it :rotfl:
For us it was easier for our guests to stay on property since our ceremony is in epcot and guests have to be on a bus to get to the ceremony!
Depending on when in March your wedding is the rooms may go fast after being released! School breaks are typically march/april!
btw-my link should be fixed

I totally understand about the family and the traveling thing. I told my mom the other week that if I knew about getting married at WDW I would have done that and my mom looked at me and said "then nobody would have been able to be there that you wanted" and I said "then it would have been just immediate family and we would have an at home reception picnic. I so want to do a VR, let's see who wants to come to that:rotfl:

Then I received a pearl necklace from my MIL. It is sterling silver with a pendant that wraps around a free-hanging pearl. I also have a pair of pearl earrings that sort of match. To honor MIL and maybe save some dough, I thought about buying the Sleeping Beauty tiara, shown with pearls.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v224/wolverinewizard/Planning%20Journal/christinekelleysleepingbeauty.jpg
Then I looked at some picks of me wearing the necklace from MIL and it doesn't show up as more than a line in pictures. Ummm...I don't know if that is the look I want. :worried: I don't think she will care that much if I use the necklace....so got to thinking, what if I got the Ariel set? With either the comb or the Sleeping Beauty tiara.

Just found your PJ. Hey tell df I was waiting to see more photos of your trip. He dropped off the face of the earth. (I did that with my first TR, kind of took too long and never did finish it). Congrats on getting the date you wanted. Everything sounds great so far! I LOVE the scrolls, so different and so pretty!

:dance3:
I just found your PJ! Your scroll invitations are great, very unique. I will try to answer some of your questions:
- For 4 pillars and skirting it is $50 plus tax
- if you look for JaxTeach's PJ and TR - she had a reception at CG that was very nicely decorated
- Ana and Lily from Beaute Speciale do an excellent job on hair and make-up
- hidden charges/unexpected charges: delivery fee for floral, fee to move floral from WP to reception, sales tax on WP
Thanks for posting the zappos site. I am looking on their for some shoes!

Ok so I understand, the first set of pictures is the one you tried on with your dress. The second one is the one that kind of matches the necklace from MIL and the third is the Ariel set correct? I personally like the first set. But I do love the Ariel set too. If you were going to wear the necklace from your MIL then I would get the tiara with the pearls. But if you tried on the first set with your dress and loved it then I would go with that one unless you like the Ariel one and can try that on with the dress but I like the first. But that's only my opinion.
Just found your PJ and I'm excited to read more! Let me catch up with the praise:
1. Love the invitations!
2. Love the wedges!
While my DF and I are still deciding it looks like you and I will be color twins!! Also, we're floral twins too. That's exactly what I want my flowers to look like! I guess great minds think alike! ;)
Congrats on the wedding date!! I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of your plans!

Congrats on switching to WP! I think that is a beautiful location! Good luck with all the drama from family! So far it looks like no one is coming to my VR. Oh well, less for me to worry about!

You got it all right! I haven't decided if I will wait until I get my dress and try everything on again...or I could always just try on the sample gown with each set and see what I like.....okay, that should have been a no brainer.
I would run out and do it today, but the bridal shop is 1.5 hours away.:worried: It's about 5 minutes from MOH. I probably should have bought a dress somewhere closer. Oh well, at least it won't be a burden to MOH, and I go visit her pretty frequently.

Thanks! Aren't they great colors! And I think posting on the Dis helped me make up my mind. The psychology is something like, "Once I announce this, I don't want to keep changing," which is really a good thing because I'm usually very indecisive

Thanks!! Maybe you'll get surprised!
Okay so great news.
Last night MOH was here and I spent about 4 hours catching her up on everything and showing her the Disboards.
She stepped up and asked what I want in terms of parties, which was such a nice thing to hear!
We are both from Michigan. Being from MI poses a problem. I don't have a ton of close friends here because I just moved a year ago and spend allot of time at the office. She's my bf here and is in the same boat. So there's not allot of people to party with here. Plus I'm not really a let's go out and party to the break of dawn type....I've done it and loved it, but it's not my thing right now. My mom wanted to have a second reception in MI, but she didn't really know where to start. So we talked about if we could do a big bridal shower around Christmas, when MOH and I are back in MI, but then she brought up the point that it might be rude to do a big bridal shower since they aren't all invited to the wedding, so it might be better to put off getting together with those guests until a second reception.
Then we had the idea to do a bachelorette party the morning of the rehearsal...we could all go get massages and leave it as a "come if you like" invitation. Then we looked at the prices at GF and Saratoga Springs (SP??). :scared1: I might pay that for myself but would feel guilty imply others should. :rotfl2:
Then......
a moment of brilliance!
I fell in love with the Garden View tea lounge at GF last fall. The prices are reasonable, and my mom loves Victorian stuff. So the plan is that MOH and I will go to the spa the morning of the rehearsal, because I had planned on going anyway. People can come if they want. Then we will formally invite some ladies to come to tea. :)
Then we got completely carried away and excited. We started talking about the MOH & Bride sashes, and making big Victorian sun hats to wear. Hehe MOH wants to make me a hat like Elizabeth Swan's. :rotfl: I don't know what that would look like, but I will find out!!
That will be a great day! Hopefully we can get our rehearsal scheduled in the afternoon so that we can do all that, go to the rehearsal, and then go to Ohana's for dinner. If we can I"ll be on :cloud9:

Everything is really looking wonderful so far! I love your colors! Your bridesmaid dresses look great and things really seem to be coming together!
As for what jewelry...I really love both! If I had to choose...I like the uniqueness of the second set...and the sentimental value :duck: Both really are beautiful! I might need to see your dress first though.
Ummmm... about that...I tried looking for your dress and I could not figure out which one you were talking about lol. I may be the only one though. :confused3

Okay, so a store in my area did a promotion for their wedding services. I RSVPed for their event, which was today, went not knowing what to expect and had a great time!
Free cake, champagne, food, and consultations on paper products.
And......drum roll.

And I'm getting a free "soon to be Mrs." sash.

DF and I went out to a nice restaurant tonight.
He new he was getting a gift, but he didn't know what it was.
I told him to close his eyes. The lighting was perfect - a dark dining room with a little spot light on our table. I opened the two boxes and placed them in front of him. "Okay! Open your eyes!" :wizard:
"Mickey hands!!" :yay:

Yes, DF will wear mickey hand cufflinks and tie pin at our wedding. Can a tie pin be worn with a tux? I asked myself that when I bought them, but I figured he probably won't wear the cuff links after the wedding (at least not much), but he can still get use out of the tie pin.

So...we finally got our letter of agreement today! I swear, I sometimes get more excited about this than Julie does:cool1:
Skimming through it, I noticed a few things. First is that the contract mentions that the Grand Floridian lobby may be undergoing construction/renovation. Anyone know anything about this?:confused3
Secondly, there seems to be a 100 dollar labor charge if our beverage sales are less than 500. Um...why? Or does this apply open bar events?
To those who have experience planning a Disney wedding, how did you convince people to stay on property? I was thinking of mentioning all the conveniences (Magical express, no rental car, EMH, etc.) that justify the slightly higher cost to stay on property, but I'd love to hear everyone else's ideas.
Thanks everyone! If anyone else has tips on what to check for when reviewing the contract, feel free to let us know!

One more question regarding room blocks...
How did people tend to reserve their rooms? I put most of our room blocks in the value resort since I figured people would want to be more economical, but did anyone ever have a situation where more people ended up staying at deluxes than they anticipated?
Thanks everyone!

Actually for some reason my family has surprised me and have taken out the moderate resort. I've actually had to add rooms there. I really thought that people would be at the value resort, but for some reason they all pounced on the moderate. Good luck making the room block, that was the worst part for me.

Ok I just caught up on the rest of your PJ! Great job so far! :thumbsup2 You are having an identical wedding to me and my DF. We are getting married Dec 09 at WP with the reception at Napa Room! So you have a lot of the same questions as I do! :rotfl:
Here is what I know as to your questions:
1. Shoes - I like the 2nd pair (mentioned that in earlier post)
2. Jewerly - I like the first one or if you really love your MiL's and it works with the dress then the second set.
3. Decorating Napa Room - I am just doing centerpieces and letting the view be the decoration. We are getting married at 5pm so we will have the Wishes fireworks to look forward to during our reception. We are also having a DJ through Disney so he comes with lighting and a dance floor as I understand it so that will also help. We are doing the standard table linens as well.
4. Gift bags - We are doing welcome bags and will be at our guests hotel for them to get when they check in. Check out this thread for welcome bag ideas. The brides on here are very creative! http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1854342
5. Recomendations - I am using Randy for photos and Carolyn Allens for tuxs and steaming. I haven't decided on hair/makeup but it will either be Patricia (LeJune PCA) or Ana (Beaute Speciale).
6. Haven't done a newsletter yet but hoping to.
7. Bar charge - :confused3
8. Room Block - none of my guests want to stay at a value so I am doing 2 moderate resorts. FYI - Disney allows you to pick up to 4 resorts for you to block rooms.
Hope that helps! I am still learning as I go along but these brides are fantastic with tips and ideas and with...well everything!!:cutie:

Hi there, I just found your PJ don't know how I missed it. I love that your DF comes on here too thats great. I love all of your ideas!!! The scroll invitaions are gorgeous, I like the second pair of shoes better, I also like the ariel jewelry set, were you able to try it on with the dress?
Those crocs are so cool I had no idea that they made diff styles, I may have to go get a pair. Looks like you came home with a ton of goddies from the event - I don't see why you won't wear the ring tiara in public :confused3 it could be a fashion statement.
I would def. go with a desert party, I think that it will be a wonderful addition and the guest will really enjoy it. We opted to have our cocktail hour during illuminations.
O also we are going with Randy Chapman for photography, hes wonderful and very flexible., and I am using Ana from beautie speciale. we will be doing a trial run with her and the engaement pics with randy both in August.
Can't wait to read more.

Great PJ! To answer your room block question, it really depends on how far your guests are coming (or how long they are staying) and how tight money is for them. I've heard of weddings where the guests only booked Deluxe resorts, but at mine people were coming from CA and had to stay a while, so everyone went with Values and Moderates.
First is that the contract mentions that the Grand Floridian lobby may be undergoing construction/renovation. Anyone know anything about this?:confused3
Apparently these are not continuous renovations, but they don't know exactly which dates the various parts of the lobby will be under construction, so they just tell you that in case it's happening while you're there.
Secondly, there seems to be a 100 dollar labor charge if our beverage sales are less than 500. Um...why? Or does this apply open bar events?
Because they can. :rotfl: It applies to both hosted and package bars - so I guess if you had a cash bar it wouldn't apply. However, Disney prices being what they are, I think you'll have no trouble spending more than $500. We had to pay $900 for just soda for 36 people! :scared1:
To those who have experience planning a Disney wedding, how did you convince people to stay on property? I was thinking of mentioning all the conveniences (Magical express, no rental car, EMH, etc.) that justify the slightly higher cost to stay on property, but I'd love to hear everyone else's ideas.
Mentioning the convenience is a great idea. You might also let people know that (if you are providing transportation) those staying offsite will have to drive to an onsite resort to meet your bus/town cars/etc. and that it can take quite a bit of time to get to the ceremony from off-site resorts if you're driving.
Oh yeah, and I had Nathan & Jensey Root for photography (www.rootography.com) and Patricia LeJeune for makeup and hair (www.lejeune-pca.com)!

Thanks for the compliment.
Don't buy the crocs. They gave me blisters. That particular style is too tight.
Randy rocks.
Lurkyloo I'm booking Patricia! I'm really glad I made this decision. I have my date reserved.
My mom almost never does anything professional with her hair. I think I will take the opportunity to treat her to a nice do.
We're sending in our contract today! I'm excited that it will be official. I buy as a profession...this would take some explaining, so just roll with me... and I inquired into altering the contract. We were very successful and got everything we wanted. :cool1:
Bill Barchik is our WC and is very nice. I'm glad we got someone so flexible.
I decided to wear flats at the wedding. I haven't bought "the pair" yet, but I don't think I could spend over 12 hours in heels. We want to start the pics at 9am probably and probably won't be done with the dessert party until 9pm. So that 5.5 inch height difference will just have to be part of my charm at when we say "I do."
Kev and I don't like the same cakes. But I am pretty certain that I will go with a particular cake and style that I found here on the boards - along with the additions she used.
I'm home from work feeling ill and can't sit aimlessly - just not my personality. So I reanalyzed our budget. I have a great wedding book from Wedding Solutions that also serves as a keepsake and accordion file folder. I filled in the Budget Analysis section and am comparing our original budget (estimated using WishBook and other expenses) to our actual - this isn't done yet since we don't have a BEO. There are allot of things we didn't take into account because we originally planned on an intimate/escape wedding, and DMIL and DFIL wanted more guests, which I really don't mind.
I love wedding planning!
DMOH and I are going to look at her dress tomorrow. And I'm trying to get an appt. to try on my dress, which I haven't tried on since March, when I bought it. I need that little reassurance that it really was the perfect dress.
I plan on booking Carolyn Allen's for steaming. And I am one of those people who goes nuts when they clean, so I think I will end up having EVERYTHING steamed. :rotfl2: We could end up with a team of steamers!
I have decided that CG Napa room will be amazing with just centerpieces. I'm going to try to keep it to the elegant, intimate look. And keep the guests eyes on the food, view, and ME!! Hehehe..... I mean, um....me and DF, of course. :lmao:

For some reason, out of my 180 person guest list, most people booked my deluxe hotel (boardwalk). My reception is at ADH so I guess it's because of the convenience but I was shocked! I only have 4 rooms booked at the All Star and about 7 at the Moderate. I have over 17 at the Boardwalk. Weird. I guess people spend more money than I thought they would :) I've heard this happen to a few other brides though. But also, don't worry about the room block so much. I thought it was super complicated and it really isn't.

For my room block, I tried to guess where everybody would stay. I have guessed wrong! Some people that I thought would stay at the moderate are staying at the value and the other ones are staying at the deluxe! So far most are in the deluxe and no one is in the moderate.

I like all the cakes but my fav. is the second cake, so fun!! the ind. cakes are very cool but yes, I would figure the price adds up. Can you do some sort of a cupcake for everyone and then a small cake to cut for you and your new hubby? just and idea.

I'm so excited to post my dress, but since I have to be able to remove the pics later, so DF won't see, PPLEASE PLEASE DO NOT QUOTE THE PICS. Thank you!
Okay....
Now for pics worth several thousand words. :cloud9:
Drumroll....
Dress is from Demetrios, Sposabella Collection in Ivory
Viel is two tiers in ivory with scattered crystals
Jewelry is two sets, from earlier post
First set shown is Cinderella by Kristie Kelley for Disney
Second set is my jewelry (already own), except for tiara which is Sleeping Beauty by Kristie Kelley for Disney
I still can't decide if I should buy the first set or get the tiara. I like the look of the Cinderella: it's more womanly...more queen than princess. It compliments the dress and looks regal. The second set is charming, elegant, but I'm not sure that it's dramatic enough. Please help!!!

I really like the first set. (althougth I'm all about saving money) the Sleeping Beauty tiara is really pretty, but if the necklace doesnt' work, then you're still buying a whole set. The ariel stuff is pretty, and your dress is in a slightly mermaid style, that would work. But if your first inclination was to the first set, I would say go for it! :cutie:

Yeah the bridal shop had this stupid rule that you couldn't take pics until you put down the deposit. This was a come back to try everything on a again and try to pick jewelry. The first time I didn't get a pic because I had to change out of the dress to pay my deposit and then it seemed like too much trouble to change again.

Your $.02 is worth $200! :rotfl: I felt fabulous in the first set. But then I was looking thru bridal magazines and noticed that most of the models wear earrings at most. Okay, its true that the second necklace would flatter more an inch higher. I still maintain that the first necklace has a look and design that seems to go with the bodice of your dress - it really is stunning with it! Plus the first set is weighted better and is not overly delicate if that makes sense :goodvibes

Okay. So I think I made a decision.
I think I will get the entire Snow White collection necklace, tiara, earrings, and bracelet (much more than what I tried on) for the following reasons:
Cinderella
Pro
Eye catching
stones same cut as stones on dress
Can be seen from distance in pics
Cons
50 bucks more than Snow white
Somewhat harsh looking - chunky:confused3
Draws attention away from my designer gown - a big no no
Snow White
Pro
Can be seen from distance in pics (I'm assuming the set necklace will be)
Design is mirror image of design on dress
More feminine and romantic
50 bucks less than Cinderella set
Doesn't detract from gown
Can match with MIL's necklace if I'm feeling sentimental the day of
Con
Didn't get a chance to try whole set on
Still expensive
So did I make the right decision?:goodvibes
Oh, also: I think I will not get the veil with the crystals scattered. They show up as white spots on camera. Did anyone have a veil like this and have a problem with pics? :confused3

Congrats on picking the Snow White set! It is beautiful! I may have missed it but did you decide on which shoes you were wearing?
I think I'm going to wear flats or a very low heel. I don't think I can make it through a morning wedding, lunch, and a dessert party in anything more than a low heel. I know some people wear heels for the ceremony and put on flip flops for the reception, but since the ceremony is only the first 1.5 hours of the day I don't want the dress dragging on the ground the rest of the day. Or maybe there is something I don't know? :confused3
I thought about having the dress altered to flats and then wear heals for the ceremony, but then it wouldn't be floor length.
Donald'sGirl
06-27-2008, 12:13 AM
It's a tough one. I live in heels...but for the wedding I am not sure because we are going to be doing pictures on the beach and the wedding is at 5pm with a reception following so basically it would be non stop from 5-11 on my feet! :headache:
DisneyLaura
06-27-2008, 08:46 AM
I wore ballet slippers that where white satin, just a thought then you can change in flip flops if you want. I bring the flip flops to your fitting too.
And on the Snow White collection - I don't remember that one being a choice where can I look for it? Just curious on what it looks like.
I love the first cake. The individual cakes are cute too. Maybe you can get a smaller wedding cake to cut, maybe even not a wedding cake just a two layer cake decorated with the castle and of course your colors (like the first picture) so it looks wedding like and then have the individual cakes. I don't know what would cost but you can research it with Disney Weddings right?

Well before we rushed off to Michigan to visit our families, Kev and I mailed in our contract. We finally heard back from Disney, after about a week. We DBs and DFs get sooo excited for wedding planning that this feels like a century to us. Poor DFTW staff! :rotfl:
Anyway, DFTW said that we should get our planner this week :dance3: and I guess that means the save the dates will go out too. I'm excited for everyone to finally get something physical that they can hold. Then all the wedding talk will seem less "out in the future" to our guests. I'm sure they will start asking about accommodations and what not, questions I am a bit unprepared to answer. DF, get going on that newsletter, honey!!:upsidedow
Okay, so I'm a bad girl: I am changing my mind about the jewelry. I'm definitely getting the entire Cinderella set. Here's the story: I tried on my dress at a Demetrios in MI, so that mom could see:hug: . The dress was white instead of ivory and the studio was much more open and well lit. I could see myself, and just myself. There were no colors to attract my attention and the sales person didn't chat me up. The sample was a 10 instead of 12 so it was a bit more accurate as to what the dress will actually look like. I didn't realize before how my dress isn't very elaborate! I have always wanted to look stunning and wear a tastefully elaborate dress at my wedding. So I decided I MUST get the Cinderella jewelry. All those who voted Cinderella were absolutely right! :thumbsup2 :grouphug:
Anyway, mom liked the dress. I don't know that she loves it. But I think she didn't really know what to say. Especially since I wasn't trying others on, I don't think there was too much to be said. It was nice that she got to see it though, as I would feel bad if she didn't see it before the wedding...and treated like an average guest.
I'm still trying to figure out the shoe thing. I haven't bought any shoes yet but DF is afraid I will buy 10 pairs before deciding!:rotfl:
I'm so thrilled about something new!
:yay: Long-burning sparklers!! https://www.sparklersonline.com/shop/20_inch_sparklers.cfm
I think I'm going to get some big sparklers for our send off at the dessert party. I hope Disney allows it :confused3 Anyone know?
It would make my dreams come true if they let me! :wizard:
Then I also must must have green and pink glowing ice cubes for the dessert party. If I can just have those two things at the party, it will be perfect!
I'm thinking about changing my bouquet to a cascade of pink orchids  :flower3: , since my dress is so modern. I don't think a garden bouquet would really match.
No white orchids since the dress is ivory and I don't want the contrast to make me look dirty. :bride:
Oh! DSIL cannot be in the wedding. This means I need another BM. I'm not really close with many people and don't want people, I have to stand on ceremony with, hanging around while I'm getting ready. So I don't know who to have. Is there a cut off time frame for picking? I guess it should be before the Save the Dates, but most of our guest already know about the wedding date already.

Yeah. That's a really good point.
It's probably not a good idea to have people I'm not close to around.
I remember being next to useless in my SIL wedding. Bridesmaids aren't always "needed" so to speak.
Funny enough the tradition of bridesmaids stems from olden times when girls dressed like the bride so a kidnapper couldn't distinguish the bride from her friends. Um, I don't think there will be any kidnappers at DWP :lmao:
I think MOH will probably be helpful enough and we'll have lots of fun together.

Are they bailing out or actually sick?
DF's best man is really sick. We think he'll pull thru though. And of course our concern isn't whether or not he can make it to the wedding.
We just want him to be healthy. ....and hopefully he'll make it. I think he will.
DF is only having one groomsman, unless I decide on more bridesmaids.
With only 48 guests I don't think it's really all that necessary. I guess I just don't want the room to look sparse. But who would want to be asked just to fill up space? :rolleyes1

I'm super practical about my feet. I like to look classically clean and sharp. I love a good heel, but I limit myself to 2 3/4 inches. And even then I only buy Aerosoles, because the sole is extremely flexible, the shoe is well-lined, and they are made to wear all day. :lovestruc
And so..... the classic, not especially weddingish (no satin), dainty, comfortable shoe I bought for 20 bucks :thumbsup2

I got the "bone" color. I could have got pink or green, since those are my wedding colors. But my dress is very fashion-forward, not poofy. So they might stick out,
don't want to take a chance.
Let's just hope that when I get them and try them on (ordered online), they will fit....and match the dress.

So Kev and I sent out deposit in to DFTW the last week of June.
We were anxiously waiting for a planner and we finally got one on Wednesday!
First we got a package on Tuesday, certified mail, with the WC's initials on our contract and a handwritten note with our free passes.
Then on Wednesday, Carol Mikles called! She's our WP! She sounds super cheerful. I haven't had a phone call with her yet but she's really quick to respond to emails and that means allot to me. Her assistant is really quick to respond too. I've read some awesome reports about her, here on the DIS. So I have no fears at all about working with her. :cloud9:
After the phone call I also got an email with several attachments: menus for our reception venue: CG Napa, a 13 page questionnaire :scared1: about what we want our wedding be like (DF agreed I can fill this out, since he doesn't think about all those little details), some info on vendors, and some info on photography.
I'm really not concerned with vendors or photography, since I have already booked Randy Chapman (photography), LeJuene (hair and makeup), and Carolyn Allen's (steaming). :)
DF wrote Carol an email asking about doing a dessert party. We are really really interested in doing one, and I think we've pretty much told our guest we will. I have decided that I want two things to make the event: pink and green glow cubes for the drinks (our wedding colors), and long-lasting wedding sparklers for a post-dessert party send off.
Does anyone know if Disney allows the sparklers?
Other good news:
My dress is supposed to ship next week. So I'm gearing up to pay for that!....bitter sweet...want the dress but not the bill! :upsidedow
I also plan on buying my jewelry soon. princess:
I pretty much have already decided on floral, but then I started thinking about how modern my dress is and that I might want a cascade of orchids instead of roses. Then I started thinking that maybe everyone would need orchids, if I have them. So that things match. But that's too expensive.
So yeah...it sort of snowballs from there. But I think I will show Rose or whoever the floral designer is a pic of my dress and ask if I should do the original plan or orchids....this will not be in front of DF of course. I'm still secretive about the dress. :cool2:
Which leads me to another point. We are doing our planning session at Franck's at 1pm on October 31st. I'm doing my hair and makeup trial that morning and then we're doing engagement pics late in the morning.
Saturday we will probably do parks.

I'm so excited that we are planning planning. We keep getting more planning tools from our WP and I love it! Silly me though likes to have her cake...and usually eat it too...but this time I haven't really used any of the stuff WP sent. It's only been a few days though and I work allot so that's my excuse!
Here are some pics of the folder we got yesterday with cakes and music samples. I love the was DFTW puts ribbons on a folder! So cute.

Dresses!!
So most of the first few pages of my PJ were me brainstorming and throwing out ideas for what I thought I wanted.
Things are starting to fall into place now. Our invitations have been priced out and are in budget...still going with the scrolls
Now...dresses. That has changed.
Only having a MOH. Didn't like the dress, I first posted, on her. Decided I didn't like the dress we picked at Alfred Angelo.
Went to a Kristie Kelly for DFTW sample sale and got this beautiful piece of work for about 170 buck, which is a great deal compared to the 360 it usually costs. Only came in size 12 or 10 in the Lemon Grass color. But that is perfect because MOH is size 12 and green is one of my colors!!
I want a strong pink/green contrast. Which works out because I bought MOH her gift already ....pink.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v224/wolverinewizard/Planning%20Journal/DSC00922.jpg
Bought mom this pink dress for rehearsal dinner from Anne Taylor loft...60% off sale last weekend! As well has her gift....green. :thumbsup2

True color...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v224/wolverinewizard/Planning%20Journal/DSC00926.jpg
Bought a dress from Alfred Angelo in Pink for 2 weddings, engagement pics, and rehearsal dinner...definitely worth the investment. :teacher:

Oct 31 DF and I are going to WDW.
I have a 9am hair and make up trial with LeJuene
11am with Randy Chapman...we don't know where we want our pics or what we want...need to think on that more
1pm is our planning session. How long do these usually go??
We had to cram it all into one day because I wanted to use my hair and make up for the engagement pics, and both the vendors and PS were only available that day.
So Saturday we will do the parks. pirate:

Our planning session was about 3+ hours long, including floral. Our menu tasting was earlier in the day. Oh, I can't wait to see your pix by Randy. You should definitely ask him about great picture locations, but I think with that gorgeous pink, I'd want to do something over by the Beach Club and along the water there. The pastel backdrop would be so pretty. There are some gorgeous rooms inside the Beach Club, including the atrium and another room right inside the Villas entrance. Of course, the Poly and the GF are always gorgeos backdrops! Have fun deciding!

Time to vote on jewelry :cool1:
Here is the situation:
When I tried on my dress, Demetrios, I tried it on with Kristie Kelley for Disney Fairy Tale Weddings jewelry. I love the Kristie Kelley stuff and wanted something from the line.
The first set of jewelry below is what I tried on with my dress...it was perfect!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v224/wolverinewizard/Planning%20Journal/christinekelley2.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v224/wolverinewizard/Planning%20Journal/christinekelley4.jpg
I bought this entire set!! It came into the bridal shop today and I picked it up! So fun! I was a little disappointed at two things: first thought maybe it wasn't all I thought it would be. 2) one of the boxes it came in was torn (they were paper boxes...guess that's the third thing I didn't like)
But then I got home and DF said it was beautiful and reminded me that people on the DIS loved it and I felt better. :flower3:
And the box maybe can be superglued
FYI the jewelry is made in Canada.

PS Count down: 28 Days!
I'm so excited that it is finally October! This is the month that we've been looking forward to since our Valentine's Day engagement - the month of our planning session! We're only having a small wedding, but that doesn't change the excitement. :cool1:
We are going to wake up early, and perhaps grab a quick breakfast. Kevin will have to find something entertaining, as I will be getting my hair and makeup trial at 9am. ;)
Then it's off to engagement pics with Randy Chapman at the Boardwalk and Polynesian Resort, followed by lunch at Captain Cook's Snack Co - a counter service at Polynesian. :cool2:
Next, we walk to Frank's for our PS. Topics naturally include cakes, flowers, food, transportation, logistics, placecard/favors,and our Epcot Dessert Party. :lovestruc
"Take a deep breath and don't get too excited," is what I will be thinking, as we are only about two hours away from Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party! But first we need to refuel, so we will head to The Grand Floridian Cafe for dinner.
We'll crash that night and then wake up to Tonga toast at Kona Cafe and hit a park for some fun. :3dglasses
And of course, there will be pictures to entertain when we come back.:wizard:

Birthday Dinner at Napa Rose: Disneyland
For my birthday, DF tooke me to the Napa Rose at the Grand Californian. The food is amazing, and price accordingly $$$. We have been talking about going there for months. What an absolutely wonderful time we had!
The servers are attentive: clearing plates, bringing food & wine in a clearly orchestrated fashion. If you ever go, splurge and get the Vinter's Table: 3 courses with a wince pairing for each....oh soo lovely.:cloud9: :cloud9:
This being said, our camera died during the walk to the hotel. We did snap a couple pictures as we walked thru downtown Disney. In one store there was an arcade game named Test Your Love. I couldn't resist!

Bridal Jewelry
I've been kind of doing very little in the way of wedding planning lately. But the Disney FTW jewelry I bought has continued to be my Achilles heel of wedding planning. I keep worrying I picked something too gaudy or not couture enough. Whatever...I'm over it. I tried on the whole set while DF was out, so I wouldn't feel silly, and felt reassured.

Bridal Tea Party Favors
I'm trying to save money for an upcoming expense and married life. But walking thru World Market, I found these for $1 each: beautiful flower candles with their own sand and glass pots to plant them in. I am planning on having a bridal tea party at GF Garden View Tea Lounge the day before the wedding, so I bought one for each of my guests. Three different flowers, eight total. The white one is for my mom, since I want her to be special.

MY DRESS IS IN!! :scared1:
I got the call at work today that my wedding gown is in to the bridal shop. However, I have been waiting since, what March?? It's been so long I'm not even sure anymore. I would have to go back and look at the receipt or this PJ. :rotfl:
So yeah. Lots of drama:
I thought I was in for a calm month of frugile living, trying to save money for our PS this month.
WRONG!!
Now I'm getting bonding done on my teeth ASAP because I've been debating dental work since we got engaged....or longer. DF is tired of hearing about it.
:lmao:
I can't afford veneers so bonding is my temporary fix. I'm getting the top front six or four done.
I think some might think it is just vanity, but it's something that has bothered me for a long time, and I'm not just doing it for the wedding.
Then I get the call about my dress today = another expense.:scared1:
I think I will save myself some stress and go pick it up next weekend instead of this weekend. I'm so tired and stressed out about everything else going on: wedding planning, the forth coming PS, going to family weddings, teeth, starting married life, planning the honeymoon....the list goes on. I think picking up my dress should be something special and I don't want to be feeling freakishly stressed when I do it.
Bottom line: weddings are expensive. So is life.
No revelation there. :rolleyes1

OMG My dress just came in yesterday too but I couldn't wait I went and picked it up on my lunch break yesterday! :rotfl: Reminder :I need to post pics over on my PJ!
Anyway try not to stress too much, everything always works out and going to pick up your dress will wash all that stress away! At least it did for me!
Thank you for the reassurance. I was thinking about your vote of confidence on the way to work today. That might sound silly to some, but those of us who rely on these boards know that the support really makes a difference.
I completley agree, the support here is really great to get you through those stressful times when planning! Anytime you need it let me know! :goodvibes

I was just catching up on your PJ - everything sounds wonderful! I wanted to comment because I actually did bonding before our wedding too and it was perfect! I didn't like how my teeth looked anyway and when I saw the pictures from my bridal shower all I could think was how there was no way I was going to have my teeth look that bad on my wedding day :sad2: My dentist had me do Crest White Strips first and matched the bonding to how they looked after the White Strips. He also billed it sort of as replacement fillings, so it wasn't quite as pricey. It was done 3 years ago and still holding up great (although I need to do the White Strips again)! I'd like to get braces (I'm thinking the Invisalign) but I don't want to spend the nearly $6k I was quoted for those! Anyway, just wanted to say it's not vanity and so what if it is - if it will make you feel better about your smile - go for it :thumbsup2
Congrats and Best Wishes!!

HI
I just wanted to chime in here about the Invisalign. My DH got them while we were dating, and after marriage. He believes they were more than worth the investment. He paid it off monthly, so it wasn't as big a hit cost wise. Whenever he needed to take the Invisalign off (like our wedding day) he could, and they did a great job straightening his teeth.
They are more expensive than traditional braces, but they have so many positives like being clear, being removable, not hurting as much, etc. $6k (or whatever others charge) is a big chunk initially, but you have your smile FOREVER!:bitelip:

Yeah, I'm trying to decide if I can wait a week. I told the shop I would call this morning and let them know if I need to reschedule. I'm sort of on my woman time and that makes me feel self-conscious naked. TMI, I know!! :rotfl: :lmao:

I'm thinking that might be the case, that it would be nice. Stupid bridal shop, didn't tell me up front that they don't carry the skirt, bra, and veil in stock. I noticed in my planner it said to order them this month, and I was like :scared1:  , "how could I forget that?" So now when I go get my dress I will have to order more stuff, and wait longer to get it. Can't leave the dress there until they get it, to try it all on together, bc they have this stupid rule that if you don't take your dress 30 days after it comes in, they return it to stock without refunding the 50% deposit! So I'm going to go get the dress, order everything, but there is no way I'm driving 1.5 hr thru LA traffic to pick up those items - they will have to be shipped (although that scares me bc I think they will mess up the order). I wouldn't order them from that store if it weren't for the 300 dollar store credit I negotiated with them. So...yeah, sorry for the rant.;)

Thank you!!! I love the encouragement. I am a tad nervous. Yesterday I went in for the "wax ups." They did it over kill: three sets of impressions, a 3D x-ray, and photographs of my teeth. Ugh. It was torture, mainly because I wanted to get back to work.

Yeah, I think I might go back and do it when the bonding starts to wear down - so like 5 years. I don't smoke, drink dark soda, or drink allot of wine. So they should look nice for a while. :goodvibes

Picked up dress today! Links to dress pics is up!
I piced up my dress today. That meant driving 1.5hr both ways. Add in the hour long: look it over, try it on, deliberate on things, and pay up...and I am tired!
Good news is:
- the dress is in good condition
- it is only the slightest bit big on me, so not to much in the way of alternations, I think:confused3
- it's beautiful
- I made it there and back alive!:rotfl:
- it's in my closet and I don't have to worry about when I will get it
- i'm in better shape than I was when I bought! I think it looks even better on me now than it did then
- I had $300 store credit so I got my veil free and my slip free
- I don't have to drive to the store again!:cool1: They will ship the aforementioned
- I don't need a bra because the dress has one built in....yes, honey, I'll be top-commando
The bad news:
- I tend to have buyer's remorse...I am driving DF nuts by wondering if I got the right dress
- I'm not sure I want to wear a veil, so hopefully I didn't waist my store credit
- I don't have make up on in the pictures, because I was afraid of getting it on the dress, so yeah...be merciful!:upsidedow
- the garment bag as dirt all over it. I'm not sure if the store gave it to me that way or if it is from my car...guess it's not a big deal though
And so.... please enjoy yourself with pictures

Planning Trip 10/31/08 Part 1
We left Los Angeles, Ca around 8:15 am Pacific and arrived at Orlando International around 5:50pm Eastern. We checked into Magical Express and rode off to Pop Century. Kev and I kept missing the hotel and resort signs, so we don't have those classic PS Trip pics to post. OOOh well. hehe
We did our best to settle into the time difference by getting "dinner" at pop, which cost us about $25 for two. We headed back to our room before going out for shopping at World of Disney at DTD.
Our room was next to the Computer Pool.

http://i404.photobucket.com/albums/pp129/Crown_princess_photos/Planning%20Trip/DSC01013-1.jpg
We came back from shopping fairly early, since Patricia from LeJeune was coming at 8:30am to do my hair and makeup trial.
The Big Day hair was not done too complete, since Patricia took it down and did it again in a different style for the engagement photos.
I think it looks pretty good. She said it will be allot cleaner when we do it with hairspray.

http://i404.photobucket.com/albums/pp129/Crown_princess_photos/Planning%20Trip/DSC01019.jpg
Hair and makeup went really well! Patricia has such a great personality, and meeting her makes me feel more confident about the wedding day. I think she will be cheerful and supportive - which goes above and beyond.
:wizard:
At this point it was 10:45 am, so I quickly paid Patricia, said goodbye and changed into a sexy number for our engagement photo session with Randy Chapman. Kev had been patient and cheerful throughout H&M and now was on the ball as we headed out to be supermodels for about 2 hours.
(Eng't pics to come)
Engagement pics ended at Polynesian, so Kev and I grabbed lunch at Captain Cook's scarfed it down, and then walked to Franc's. Randy swung by ahead of time and let the WP know we would be a bit late.
The walk

When we came in Carol and Joan, the hostess, were standing at the door waiting patiently. They were warm and welcoming. We were shown into a small conference room off the side of the display (main) room. It was so cold in there!!
We went over the whole BIG DAY chronologically, during the reception portion we had our cake testing.
We decided on raspberry mousse with chocolate cake, dark chocolate mousse with almond cake, and and the raspberry mousse with chocolate cake for our anniversary layer. (I'm so proud of DF, I just asked him what we picked - I forgot - and he told me!) At the appropriate point in the time line, Elizabeth and Rose showed up from Floral and we spent several hours on floral. DF sneaked pics discreetly, as not to be disrespectful or distracting :lovestruc , which I appreciated.

PS Trip Report Part 2: Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party
After dinner, or un-dinner for me - I couldn't stomach the dish I ordered, at GF Cafe, we headed back to Pop Century to take a short rest and put down our things. We had been toting around a backpack of theme park clothes, but decided that changing and then taking off with the BIG bag, directly to MK would not do. We took the Monorail to MK, then took a bus to POP. We got excited to go to MK when we passed by and saw all the decorations and people lining up to go into the park.
We got back to our room, and it was apparent our detour would cost us a couple hours of the event - started at 7pm - since we were so tired and tempted to sit for awhile. I'm glad we took the time for a break, otherwise we wouldn't have enjoyed the rest of the night.
We got to MNSSHP by 9PM.
First, we saw the villians dance and sing:dance3:
Then the HalloWishes show came on and was 99 Happy Haunt themed
It was a very entertaining show, although not awe-inspiring and all warm-fuzzy feeling like Wishes. I prefer Wishes.

Watching Hallowishes
http://i404.photobucket.com/albums/pp129/Crown_princess_photos/Planning%20Trip/DSC01045.jpg
After HalloWishes we strolled to the Haunted Mansion.
Last time we were in MK in 2007 HM was closed, we think for refurb.
We really enjoyed riding it again, as the other rides we had been on just a year before. It was nice having been to MK recently, and not having new Disney vistors with us to show around, because we could just pick and choose our favorites and do whatever struck our fancy - no agendas, no pressure. :goodvibes
Pirates was the second ride - no line at all!! Tickets are limited for MNSSHP, and was already past bed time for little kids, so we just strolled right up and got on!! :thumbsup2
Then we saw Goofy's parade - candy themed, and cut across to Future Land. We wanted to do Laugh Floor - Kev had never done it. But it was closed early :sad2:
No worries...we just had more time to visit Mickey and Minnie!!

My grandmother informed me earlier this week that she shipped me her china.
I knew she was giving it to me :cool1: but I was :scared: at the idea that it would break.
Well, I just got the box. I haven't taken it all out yet, but I reached in and pulled out one cup. At that moment, I held the cup in my hand, looked at it, turned it carefully, and suddenly felt like crying happy tears. I've been passed the torch! My grandmother silently acknowledged my adulthood and my success. :flower3:

My husband and I were given his grandmother's china as a wedding gift. His sister had no intrest in owning it. She is more of a paper plate kind of girl! LOL After we got married we invited my husband's grandparents over for a special dinner and used the china. She was very touched to see that we used it and enjoyed seeing it displayed in the china cabinet.

Thanks for posting pics for me, honey!
What a surprise to see the pics and all the wonderful comments.
I have been on overtime, ladies, and just haven't had time for anything wedding. :headache:
We did manage to order our wedding invitations the other night, when DF forced me to stay up late enough.
:rotfl:
The wedding is so close now!! Only a few months left to go. :scared1:

Hey all!
I haven't posted in a while.
We've been super busy visiting family for the holidays. :santa:
We've also been doing wedding things, since the wedding is less than 3 months away!! :scared1: :scared1: :cool1:
We ordered our invitiations. They are so beautiful - hot pink (shocking pink is the color we are using on the products Disney will supply - roses included) and sage (lemongrass in my world - MOH dress)
I will post pics. Stay tuned!
DF found his ring but hasn't ordered it yet. He thinks he would like a ring with contrasting metallics with Chinese engraving on the outside. I think this is cool. We're not going for the matching bands, and I've noticed allot of couples don't.
I have yet to order my band.
More on the to do list:
- find seamstress
- get horrible bridal shop to send me my slip and veil
- finish mailing out the other half of the invitations
- finish planning ceremony & call officiant
- track hotel reservations - trying to make sure we fill our minimum room nights
- select tuxes and coordinate fathers' fittings
- call WP and make changes (we are slashing expenses ruthlessly) = no more MK photo shoot
- make honeymoon activity reservations
- purchase airfare to Disney and honeymoon
- welcome baskets/folders
- wedding programs
- steaming reservations - confirmations
- buy honeymoon clothes :rolleyes1 :upsidedow ;)
- rethink wedding shoes and maybe buy new ones - you can tell from reading my PJ, that I'm horrible at buying shoes
 So much to do!
oh...and simultaneously:
- house hunt with DF
- work out to drop 3 lbs gained at xmas
- learn all new systems at work
- dental appts. twice a week
- tanning
- wrap mind around fact I am about to be married!!!
- try not to panic
- be glad that at least I decided not to take a class this quarter

:hourglass Time is ticking.
We are down to 9 weeks left until the wedding!!
I have at least three checklists laying around the house.
DF now has his own checklist on baby blue Mindy Weiss stationary :rotfl:
Oh, and don't forget the over-detailed checklist in my wedding planner, just in case I forget that there is so much to do. :lmao:
What got accomplished since last post:
- petticoat received from evil bridal shop, veil on its way
- found website with affordable & cute cake boxes
USD $0.59 ea
http://www.alloccasionsgiftware.com/pd_individual_cake_slice_quilt_box.cfm
- called a dressmaker and got recommendations for shops that could do alterations - still need to check them out
- let officiant know when the rehearsal and r.dinner are
- mailed out invitations - DF has 2 he needs to mail out but he has been procrastinating ;)
- fixed reservation for bridal tea
- made hotel reservation for grandmother
she is looking forward to thawing out after months of midwestern cold :beach:
- checked on registry
- found a coworker willing to throw me a bridal bash at work - since my family is too far away
- bought bustier
non wedding:
worked and lost lbs gained at Christmas
cooked new recipes all week!
I think I earned my weekend. hehe.
Also, I just got off the phone with Elizabeth from Disney Floral and cut out some items that aren't needed due to a reduced guest count (some people can't come due to the cost). Elizabeth is fantastic and friendly! :thumbsup2
We're also saving about 500 dollars due to having less guests.
If anyone wants me to post the cost of the floral we are having, let me know.
I don't want to do all that typing if no one wants to see it.
Bye!! :wave2:

I was eating breakfast and thought, "Hm. I should check," and there you all were! :)
I'm glad the floral BEO is helpful. I also have pictures of our invitations to post, and a vase "guest book" that is super cool. Guess I should get posting again!

As if getting married at Disney World doesn't set DF and I apart from couples that my family and friends know, I WANTED to add something more.
So instead of a guest book, we are having a signature vase.
TAAAH DAHH! :cheer2:
http://i404.photobucket.com/albums/pp129/Crown_princess_photos/signaturevase2.jpg
This item cost me an even 50 bucks, after using this nifty site I found
http://www.retailmenot.com/view/theknot.com
It came with a special pen, black color. The guests sign, you back in the oven at 200 degrees, and this seals on and waterproofs the signatures!
I don't have a vase, and want one, so I killed two birds with one stone.
I don't think I would have ever taken out a guest book and read it. So this was a practical and exciting alternative!:cool1:
It arrived in good time, in good condition, and in a nice box that will help me transport to FL. The box is not too thick for a suit case.

I could see how this would have been confusing!
It was a while ago and buried in an old post.
Here is the link to my photobucket, to view the dress. princess.
Can't post the pics here bc DF is a DISer too. ;)
Be warned! I have no makeup on!:scared:
