Can someone post what a normal screen looks like? It sounds like other than little issue here and there people are able to play. But I was in both yesterday and today, and while I see more places to go, I do not see anyone else. I jsut see me walking around in an empty world with a gray bar at the bottom with a text input box, that's it. I tried it in both Internet Explorer and in Firefox just to make sure it was not a browser issue and got the same results on both. Any ideas? :confused3

hang in there. The game is just not running right yet. You and Lots of Us are just being caught in a bug that doesn't load all the information. Lots of us can't see any other people, or our own chat, or other ppls chat, or ppl/chat come and go. It will work eventually, just doesn't yet. It isn't anything you are doing, or can do different, it is just the luck of the draw (or luck of the log in, lol), that lets some ppl some of the time interact in the game correctly.

Read the rest of my post.. I chatted 2 lines and he chatted 2 lines, then
they shut the chat off again for us. The chat was probably on for
everyone else too but they didn't bother since they thought it wasn't
working.

And he came in after me in the room so I could see him, that's the way
it is right now.

Anyone ever watch Stargate, you know the episodes where someone would be in another plain of existance? They could see the people but the people couldn't see them. Well, I think we are like that. I am in another plain of existance than the rest of the world is. Sometimes I can see a chat bubble for a moment, other times I can see someone and they can't see me, most of the time I feel like I'm all alone in the world- and a mute at that. Anyone see the stargate that will get me back to populated universe?:rotfl:

You didn't miss the shirt. It's being given to all Beta testers, from what the update on the main page says.

You can't change yet, personalization hasn't been added. Hopefully soon. And keep clicking around the gate in the yard...you'll find your way out!

As for the pink couch thing? Don't know, but I bet it becomes a standing joke with all of us "Beta old-timers." :) There's a pink couch disguised as a rock on the way to the castle, too!

I'm upset about this.... I have been trying all day yesterday and today to get in (I pre-registered and got my confirmation email weeks ago), have sent 2 messages to VFK staff asking for help with no response, so alas, I'm not able to log-in. Guess I won't have the opportunity to get the shirt. Grrr!

So far this is only making me miss VMK even worse and not a great first impression for VFK - even if it is a beta!!

VMK defintely did not grow to what it was overnight, or even in a year for that matter. I feel for the VFK staff since they have been trying to get this set up a lot faster than they ever originally planned for just to help all of us have another place to call home.

I never got an email myself. I just clicked the registration button on the main page and it asked for my email address and character name that I had pre-registered with. It then took me to a page to put in a login and password to complete the registration and then I was able to play. It may work the same if you give it a try.

I know how you feel 2 days now and I don't even know my guest number :rotfl: I can not speak and have not seen one other person. I just walked out the door of my house and disappeared. All I see now is my house room and no me. Some may think that is a good thing :lmao:

I have not read all 69 pages of this thread so this may have been discussed. I was wondering if VFK's original colonial theme had anything to do with Disney wanting to create a theme park in the colonial Williamsburg area once apon a time. And some areas of VFK remind me of Busch Gardens in Williamsburg.

you don't enter your character name, but your FIRST NAME, remember when you registered it asked you for your email address, first name and character name. Well I used my first name in "real" which is "cindy". So now I go to login put in user name "cindy" and my password and get right in. If you use your character name it will NOT work, trust me I tried most of yesterday til I figured it out lol...GL I hope this helps as I sure would "hat" for you all to miss out on the cool " I survived Day 1 Beta Test" shirt!!!!

Yup that has now happened to me too. Iwas able to all day til about hour ago.. Now I can't talk abut i do see ppl sometimes but I don't they see me.
I am trying to have patience though cause I know they are trying to work on

invisible people talking, and I see tons of conversations with staff so staff
don't have the problem... And about half the people I see in VFK are running
their little virtual mouths... So why can't I? I see conversations in every room
just not the people, and I wanna talk so badly!

What happens is I can talk in my house, but when I exit then I can't talk anymore...

You can talk in your house and not outside because your chat has not caught up with you!!! I am not joking I tried and what you have to do is go back to where you COULD chat then back out until your chat "follows" you or catches up... works for me every time. Oh one more thing when you get to a room try several times to chat before giving up. I have found it can take longer than a minute to get my chat on the screen....bottom line patience is definately in order here, but it is beta and looks very promising so I dont mind the quirks lol

I finally have my daughter's character in the game but the oddest thing is she is all Alone but yet with my character I am able to interact. I am using the same computer and loading both characters the same way and even refreshing because that's what I do to get my character to work yet her character doesn't respond to any of this. Interesting how some characters work and others don't.

Oh I understand what you mean. I don't know about that though because it doesn't matter what time I log my daughter on, when I log her on she is always alone yet when I log myself on I am always able to communicate.

I think anyone who's getting upset with the bugs and lack of things so far should just go make their own massively multiplayer interactive social community and see how long it takes them. Much kudos to the savvy people making this!

The only thing I've noticed is that quite a few people are sometimes seeing everyone, sometimes seeing no one, sometimes can talk, sometimes can't. So I know at least there's a good chance I won't be alone for too long. And based on some things I've seen VFK people saying, I think the tech people are working on that as the first concern.

Good luck to them; I can't imagine the challenge involved in getting this off the ground so quickly!:thumbsup2

I didn't notice a rock. But I did notice a Pink Couch in the crossroads by the castle that looks a lot like a little grey rock. But it's clearly a Pink Couch, it says so.

I have way too many Pink Couches for one Best Buy Employee to handle. Some pink couches are pink soft and cozy and can be moved, however, if you would like to sit on it there will be an extra surcharge.(TBD) I have decided to masquerade tall grandfather clocks and pink buffet tables as pink couches also and can be bought for a discount. For the modest pick couch admirer I have another model it is small, hard, and grey but it most certainly is our most portable pink couch ever.
Be on the lookout :eek: for more PinkCouches before they are all gone!

I spent quite sometime last night talking to vfk_Panda and she assured me that they are not worried about adding other features at this time, they are focusing on making sure everyone can get on and see each other and chat while simultaneously working on getting us our screen names and friend lists up. They seem to be focusing there first.
