I think it's just really busy right now with everyone trying to register. I have gotton the "white screen of death" (the page cannot be found) a bunch of times so far. I just keep clicking back and trying again - in your case, you might want to hit refresh

This is way behind what VMK was in beta. This is still very alpha...ish

They made good on one thing Disney did not, so I will give them a chance to make good. They brought some of the wonderful staff, heh I told Piratevinnie to get them, and we would follow.

I want to see them reach out to Lily and Hula still @_@ They easily could since there are ex VMKers there *cough* Lion *cough*

I agree, this is nowhere near ready for Beta testing. I doubt it's been tested in Alpha stages, but once. I expected bugs and crash issues, but I also think the backdrops are merely wallpapers and the avatars crude 'cutouts'. It is nice to know that our beloved staff members tranferred to vfk, however I would like an honest opinion from them as to the quality of vfk. I would guess they were a bit taken aback as well.

Yah, but.... How many week's notice did they have? I'm bettin' Disney had a *lot* more lead time to get their site ready...

I understand they literally threw this together, but they didn't deliver on their promise, either. This is not ready for Beta tests. I think the developers should have opened a simple online chat and worked more on the game before releasing a Beta version. This simply isn't past Alpha stage. It seems like it's still in concept stage. It will be difficult for them to add features with players in-game. I foresee a lot of problems in the future for this game unless they are leaving this as is and working on the 'real' vfk without anyone in-game.

I used IE. It took a few refreshes on the actual registration pages, but every time I've tried to re-login, I've had no trouble.

My friends and I are logged in, but are unable to see anyone. We all have a blonde mullet. We are uable to see our own words. None of us are able to see our titles. There is no friends list or anything. Just a place to type in chat, which nothing comes out of. Sounds like they took it back to the original tests. Should be fun once it gets going.

Well, I managed to eventually make it through the registration pages and into my room. (OMG, am I weird looking! And apparently have terrible taste in furniture to boot.)

I was only able to walk around inside the room and move the furniture a bit. Could not sit down or talk, and I have no idea what my name/number is.

Finally got my avatar to walk out the door -- where he promptly vanished, leaving me to stare at an empty room! I waited for awhile to see if another setting would load, but to no avail. Now I am trying to reload (unsuccessfully so far).

ETA: OK, I'm back in my room. The furniture has repositioned itself back to where it was before I moved it, however.

Yup..the suck monster just got me too. The moment I clicked on the floor by the door...Whoosh! :rotfl: I may have to reload too, not coming back in or moving on. lol
Oh and when you went back into your room, had the local thieves taken your furniture too?;)

Ok I think I am like you but..I had my hubby keep trying to refresh me as I got his luch ready and so he did and then as I came in I saw me in the room again.. and there waas someone talking as it was on the screen and couple guest with numnbers.. and then I could move the furniture...there is 3 of the pink couch clock and a desk or table. But I type to say something but don't see it. What happenings now plz what do i do?

you can always try talking to yourself. that's what I do to see if my chat is actually working.

For those that had trouble registering earlier might want to try again. the sight is running very smootly right now and i have logged in a few times wit no issues.

I think they have disabled chat for now, and the ability to see others. I am sure it will be fxed soon. I was able to find a few Dis and VMK friends earlier and chat with them it was alot of fun trying to figure out who everyone was lol.

Hopefully tomorrow we will get some more features, it is deffinatly a work in progress and i am very excited to be a part of it.

I can't currently see anyone or chat, but I could about an hour ago and also off and on throughout the day...I am using IE. My URL has always started with www2. and ended with .com/index3.php Hope that helps!

Well, folks, I haven't registered for VFK, and I'm not yet sure if I will or not. Without the Disney parks theme, I'm not sure any virtual world will work for me. :sad1:

On the other hand, I have truly enjoyed reading this thread this evening. Your tales of Day One are wonderfully entertaining! I know you're all frustrated, but you are taking it with such great humor, and I have to thank you all for that.

I will stay tuned, see how things unfold, and maybe venture to join you in a week or two. Maybe. In the meantime, I will be here with you on the DIS. :)

Thanks... I did re-fresh the page and it took me back to my room! Then back outside again to back yard and out the gate ..this time didn't go to blacksmith ..the onlyway I figure that out was go in different direstion to try not to go there. it worked I am now I am I think at the castle..or outside the castle! castle wall and sidewalk ..so will try going thur archway.

I was in the back yard where I saw VFK Groovy. Sorry I couldn't see you. :( I had problems with that earlier in the evening where I could see the chat but I couldn't see the characters nor could I see my chat.

I also saw VFK Lion in the next room after the back yard and at the entrance of the castle and I saw VFK Cat in the house. I have to say I think they have done a wonderful job with the rooms and I look forward to them getting all the bugs worked out. It's very promising. :)

Yea.. it was cool... I wsa able to finally get out into other rooms..and check them out..got stuck on that building..lol and found out how to get back to my room! This is really cool.!! I have never been beta before and I am so looking forward to it.

Oh and I just found out what my guest number... After going back into my room a few times cause i could see finally see other people writings and see other people in my back yard. Finally.. I went back out in my yard and saw writings again and said 'Hiya" and there it was...and so I know now. My guest number is 1458.. PirateBell's guest # is 1458!!
So guess that is for tonight all... I think even though this was pretty nerve racking I was finally able to get thru like so many did! Although still trying to get my Space_Grumpy registered! No luck there yet! Tomorrow is another day. :)

I was able to see VFK_Zoo this afternoon today. That was cool I clicked on her to be a friend who knows it that works for them?

Little did I know VFK had closed, till I refreshed the VFK home page and saw the note
Just a heads up to those of you who can not register during the busy hours due to lag. Try after close or right before opening using the VFK Registration link from history.
Of course that means you need to have tried once before they closed to get the link. I was able to register the rest of my family members except one of my husbands which he has kept under lock and key and I don't have the info on... I made him an awesome new name to go with my awesome new name, now to talk him into using it! I did have some trouble with a few sign on names which annoyed me, but it seems to have worked out but I will not know for sure until we get our names.

I was able to register them all on my MAC (during off hours) and I am very pleased at how this game is running on Safari so far with the links I was able to walk around on all my families characters tonight (during off hours) to make sure they work... I did mess up and make my boy character a girl... I checked the wrong box. We have more girls in my family I got used to checking that box oops.
I'll have to have them change that later especially since it is a very boy title, once they get things going a bit better. :rolleyes1

I know for me, its because of certain "hints" that were given to me by hosts before vmk shut down and also things that are being said in vfk now (about shared experiences in vmk) A few of them were there to greet us yesterday afternoon when we first got on and were saying that they wished they could of told us the night before but couldnt for obvious reasons, I know its not vmk but having the old host in this game has given me a slight feeling of "coming home". And i think that is only going to get better when everyone actually gets their screen names.

I know for me, its because of certain "hints" that were given to me by hosts before vmk shut down and also things that are being said in vfk now (about shared experiences in vmk) A few of them were there to greet us yesterday afternoon when we first got on and were saying that they wished they could of told us the night before but couldnt for obvious reasons, I know its not vmk but having the old host in this game has given me a slight feeling of "coming home". And i think that is only going to get better when everyone actually gets their screen names.

I dont know, I think this game is a very long ways away from being ready.

I don't even think they should put the additions in they are talking about over today and tomorrow. They should focus on getting whats there to work first IMO.

Since I suspect hosts could work from home in VMK, they may work from home for VFK. They may not be paid staff for VFK but just be playing for fun as we do or they may be paid on a part-time basis and will continue with other jobs.

Me(Guest888), Guest328, Guest412, and Green(someone already got there
name approved!!!) are hanging out right now in the house. We were all
fighting over our house and the furniture LOL.

Even though VFK is closed, the log in link (the one with the www2 and index3
and all that stuff) still works. :P There's just no play now button but you
can still get in.

And btw with less lag I can see anyone and talk perfectly fine..

This is way behind what VMK was in beta. This is still very alpha...ish

They made good on one thing Disney did not, so I will give them a chance to make good. They brought some of the wonderful staff, heh I told Piratevinnie to get them, and we would follow.

I want to see them reach out to Lily and Hula still @_@ They easily could since there are ex VMKers there *cough* Lion *cough*
:sad: It will break my heart if they are not there. Both of them bring so much to the game. Their love, patience, and humor keep us all happy. Please say it aint true and that they are on their way to VFK :sad1:

HELP! I was just registering my DH's account and it said his name was already marked as in use. What next? He signed up for Beta when I did.
I have that same problem. It said someone took ForeverWDW already. I ignored it and went on registering like I had never seen it :rotfl: I dont know what will happen but I hope it was just a glitch. I was able to log in and play as a guest.
