Tipping housekeeping at DVC?

I was a bit lazy to do a search on this board and apologize for any repeat in the question asked.

What is the "suggested" tipping for housekeeping staff at DVC villas?

hi: i don't know what the "norm" is, but this is what i tip. on t & t day about $5, and about $20 at the end of the week. we usually stay in a 1br unit; we tip more when we are in a 2br.

You'll get a lot of variety of answers on this question. Some don't tip at all, saying that housekeeping doesn't even get to keep their tips. I don't think anyone has ever been able to verify that with DVD management.

Others feel that since T&T is so minimal, they provide a minimal tip (or none for that day).

Personally, I share wdwnut's philosophy....that's about what we will tip for a 1BR.

I usually tip based on the fact that the room was ready when I arrived. Was it clean? Stocked with supplies? Etc? Or did I have to call them to give me my start of towels and dish soap? Was the REMOTE no where to be found???
