View Full Version : My Take on the Girls Only DL Trip

First let me preface all this by saying that you may all find this rather lame. It may tangent off into a million directions. And I may prove just what a dork I truly am. So put on your seatbelts because here we go........
So, I happen onto a thread one day that is has tons of pages on it and it talks about a Girls Only Trip to DL. What do I have to say about that?......I'm in!! Although I am a few months late in joining, I am welcomed right away. But then fear sets in.:scared1:
What fear you may ask?.....Are you asking? Well even if you aren't asking, I'm gonna tell you. Its the fear that I don't know anyone, that I didn't have anyone to room with and that these "ladies" could actually be middle age men who like to stalk women on the internet. So yeah, there were some fears. I got over them though. The more time I spent on that thread the more comfortable I felt with everyone and found them mostly to be friendly. Thankfully I was able to get some great roomies:dance3: . Amy, Michelle and Cristabel. I figured if any of them were stalkers well it was something I would just have to deal with. And I am proud to say that none of them were men.:goodvibes
Now what.....I just had to get the time off of work, get plans set for DD, get school figured out, and tell DBF that I will be gone that weekend.
Getting time off work was easy. My boss thought that I needed some time off so it worked out great.:thumbsup2
DD was all set with my parents for the weekend so that was good.:thumbsup2
I had nothing going on at school that I couldn't take care of the week before so that was checked off.:thumbsup2
I told DBF I would be gone that weekend and although he said he would miss me, he was happy that I was going to have some fun. When he found out it was a Girls Only Trip and that I was rooming with three other ladies, his eyes did light up. Visions of lingerie pillow fights popped into his head. The only thing he asked me to do this weekend was to take pics of that. I told him that that probably wouldn't happen, but he said he saw it in a bunch of movies so it must be true. Boys :confused3
Then my planning began. Had to start thinking about what I was gonna pack, what I wanted to do, which meals I wanted to attend, did I want to do the VIP tour, which shirt to get and set up my ticker? That was all easy. The hard part was the waiting.
Between work and school time eventually went by and it was the day before I was supposed to leave was here.:woohoo: I ran my errands:drive: forwarded all my assignments that were due to school :teacher: finished up my laundry :laundy: packed up my bags and got set to have a great time.party:
Look for my next installment where I tell you all about the excitment of meeting my roomies, the joy of spending time in the park alone, the thrill of meeting Tom, and of lingerie pillow fights.

Why do I picture maribou fluff floating about everytime that is mentioned? I am thinking the Hooker Red or High CLass Call Girl Red polish would have added to the visual, huh?
Or, in your DBF's fantasy, did we do each other's nails too?
Funny how you worried about weirdo internet stalkers, and in all of my Ohio bred trust I figured that the women would all be normal and a delight. Boy was I in for a suprise!!! Kidding!!!
I am enjoying your trip report so far....can't wait to hear about Ryan's butt, I mean, cute pants!!! What are they kevlar or something?

I always picture the maribou flying around as well. And no, he didn't mention if we did each other's nails too. I won't ask him though because I don't want to add to his image of what girls do when they go on trips together.
Glad you didn't think we would be internet stalkers. Definately your Ohio bred trust. I grew up right here so everyone is suspect you know.
Keep your pants on, I will get to Ryan so enough.

The room wasn't that crowded. Ive done cheer camp so I am used to many girl's sharing one bathroom.
DBF's imagination has nothing to do with reality. If he imagines it, it is as good as real to him.

The day was finally here. I got up early, brushed my hair and got ready, packed my car and dropped DD off at school. As soon as she said goodbye and shut the door, I popped in my party cd and I was on my way. At this time you can start hearing Ice Ice Baby playing loudly in my car. Its a short drive from DD's school and the HOJO so I only get to here Ice Ice Baby, Baby Got Back and Whoomp There It Is before I pull into my parking stall.
Its still very early so I just hop out of the car and head right over to the park. It is just a short while till rope drop. So I start walking to DL. At this time I didn't realize there was a shorter walk on the other side of the street as I am walking on the longer side. It wasn't that bad though. I did feel a bit odd walking solo. But I was right behind a family so it was all ok.
Once I get through the front gates I am off and on my way. I go right to Space Mountian and grab a couple of fast passes and get in line. I ride it in no time at all. I mosey on over to Buzz and ride that one as well. I then remember that I haven't eaten yet. I grabbed a crossoint sandwhich at Tomorrow Land Terrace and position myself for ultimate people watching. And boy did that pay off. It always amazes me what people wear to a day at DL. Oh, and my breakfast was yummy
I still felt sorta odd being solo, but I was getting over it and enjoying myself. I did what I wanted, when I wanted. It was all good. I took random pics of different things and did my wish at the well.
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k266/stacerita/001.jpg
That is a tradition for me. I went back and grabbed more fast passes for Space Mountain too. It was actually enjoyable to be able to take things in at my own pace and just enjoy being there.
While wandering around the castle I get a call from Michelle (Zoemakes5) that her and Amy (grumpyvet) are almost there.
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k266/stacerita/010.jpg
I had never met either before so it was great to know that they would be there soon. We made plans that they would call when they got to the park and we would meet up. I knew I had some time before they would arrive so I hopped on the Train and did the grand circle. That was a nice change. They arrived when I got back to Main Street so we met up at the flag pole and acted like we were long lost friends. Thankfully they weren't men who stalk women on the internet.
We headed off and took in some rides. Our biggest and best mistake of the day was going on Splash Mountain. Now, we have all been on it so we know that you get wet. I am used to being splashed. And getting really wet. But this time we got soaked! It was horrible. The only part of me that was dry was my face since I covered it up on the drop. We looked like drowned rats when we got off the ride. Everything was wet, right down to the undies. We asked some lady who didn't speak english to take our pick at we were dripping.
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k266/stacerita/025.jpg
So there we were, soaked to the bone. What were we gonna do now? Well what else......head to DCA. We went right over to ToT and took a ride. Now, I do not usually do this ride as it scares the holy heck out of me, but this was to be a weekend of stepping out of my shell so I went for it. Thank the Lord that there are bars to hold on to or else Amy sitting next to me would have been one sorry lady. And in case you were all wondering, I made it off that ride alive.
After the ride we started wandering around a bit and complaining. Amy's complaint was her socks and shoes being wet...her feet were unhappy with that, Michelle was wanting some lunch (she didn't have the yummy breakfast I had, and I was [edited] and complaining that my undies were still wet!! We decided to head over to Pacific Warfe to eat some lunch and rest up a bit. On the way is when we met Tom.:lovestruc I wish I would have got a pic of him. Oh well. I guess I will just stalk him then.
How did we met Tom you ask? Well, Michelle spotted him and yelled he has great pants! Ok, maybe thats not what she said, but that is what Amy and I heard. So for the life of us we couldn't figure out what was so great about his pants. Granted they were pulled up really high, and they must have been made of some ployester type fabric, but nothing really special. Then Michelle lets us in on what she really said.....He has great pins. It made more sense now. Tom was great. He was an older gentleman with great pants that were pulled up really high. He was part of the Dream Team, but was not Dreaming then (only when they have the white vest he told us). Tom was quite flirty with us. And honestly, we were working what we had to see if we could get him to put on the white vest. No luck though. But he did give us some little mermaid stickers though. TYB....there's your boyfriend.
For lunch we had soups in bread bowls, salads and cookies. Not all of us ate all that, but between the three of us, those were the items we choose. We ended up sitting there for a while getting to know each other more. I convinced Amy to take off her socks and shoes and put them in the sun to dry more. Yep, I can even make DCA look like the front of a trailer park.
We decided to hit a few more rides before our ages caught up with us and we headed to the hotel. On the way to the hotel we took the "shortcut". We were able to get our room and headed right up. Our room was nice and roomy. I loved that there was a sink outside the bathroom. I unloaded my mountains of luagage onto the bench and then kicked back.
Lorealle came up to visit us. She is such a sweetie. We talked about hair, hair mishaps, what happens with our hair when the weather is off, and the products we love for our hair. As lame as that sounds, we were one laugh from wetting ourselves (and my undies had just finally dried).
We freshened ourselves up and headed on back to DTD to meet up with the other ladies for our first dinner at the Jazz Kitchen.

You can actually resize them right on photobucket.
When you click on a photo in your photobucket account, a row of different options will appear on top of the pic and one of those options is resize.
But I didn't think the ones you posted were too big. I liked them! :thumbsup2

Now where did I leave off?
Oh yeah, we had just freshened up a bit and we were heading on over to DTD to have dinner. So we left the room and started the walk over with Lorealle using the shortcut. Lorealle is really a cute little thing. She was making the big walk over in a cute dress and heels. And here we all were in our most comfy shoes (which didn't feel all that comfy) and comfy clothes that were only slightly damp still, and our hair looking all crazy like. And yes, we did freshen up.
The walk wasn't that long, but boy were we glad when we got there. We noticed someone sitting out in front of the Jazz Kitchen alone, but they looked sorta familar, so we asked if she was a DIS lady, and sure enough it was. We just met 21Yankees, Steph. Talk about a sweet lady. Not a minute later, Cristabel shows up as well. Yeah, my final roomie has arrived. Well, not like I wait till the last minute or anything, but I needed to head down to the bookstore to pick up a gift for DBF. So a few of us head over there while some stay behind to greet the others as they arrive.
I was a little bummed when we got back and I head how there was at least one of the ladies who was not all that nice to everyone. :worried: Im not going to name names or toss anyone under the bus. But when doing a meet like this, you are bound to not know everyone, and some people going solo might find it hard to show up. So when someone introduces them self, if you aren't sure who it is, or don't recognize the name, don't just say, "I don't know you" and walk away, thats rude and not nice. Ok, back to the report.
We all get seated at the Jazz Kitchen and it was nice. I really enjoyed meeting and getting to know some of the ladies there.

As you can see we had a great time together. The food was good but pricey. I'm not sure if I would go back again. I might to just give it another try, but I wasn't overly impressed with it. I know we were a large group, and the bill at the end was difficult, but goodness, it took forever to get out of there.
There were a bunch of us itching to get back to the parks. We had been collecting fast passes during the day and were dying to use them. I usually don't name name, but this time I will. Amy was ready to pimp slap someone if she didn't get into the park ASAP! Finally the park gods heard our snippyness and we paid the check and ran. We were now on our way back to DL. :woohoo:
The easy way back to the park would have been to take the monorail in, but nooooo, we didn't think about that. We walked all the way to the security check to get back in. Thats when it happened. My bag dumped over and my phone fell out. It looked fine at the time, but it wasn't. Wouldn't find out till later that it broke inside and I could no longer charge it. My phone was dying a slow death and I didn't even know. :sad2:
So we get back into DL head over to Indy to use our passes. Lucky we have enough passes to go around for everyone. So we ride Indy and then move every so slowly over to Space Mountain. Thats the one problem when going with a group, it seems you move more slowly per each person you add. If you don't believe me, ask Amy. But we made it eventually. By the time we finished the ride it was getting late and the park was going to close. So we all headed off back to our rooms/home/cars.
While Amy, Michelle and I headed to the room, Cristabel headed to her car so she was going to meet us there. We get to the room and start getting our stuff in order. After a day of sweating, sunscreen, and Splash water, we were all in need of a shower. We all worked it out and it went smoothly.
I was sleeping on the roll a way bed. I was a bit nervous since I went to sat on it and it was not comfortable at all.
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k266/stacerita/039.jpg
My roll a way bed
Surprisingly though, laying on it was great. Something about the way it sunk it and where the bar was craddled me in my sleep. Granted, I didn't sleep straight through the night, but insomnia is with me even on vacation. Everyone else sounded like they were sleeping wonderfully though. Once again I won't name names, but more than one of them were snoring something fierce.
Once it looked about time to get up, I decided to jump into the shower and get my day going.

Naming names, tut tut tut!! I was a bit fired up about getting out of there. And I agree, the food was fine, but not extra special enough for the price. And truly, I have a child's taste, so the food was a bit too "fancy" for me. I am more a , well, now that I have finally tried one, a corndog kind of gal!!!
Yeah, probably was me snoring. I do that sorry!!!:)

I suppose when you have a group of over 35 ladies getting together it's bound to happen, BUT to ease your mind, I will tell you that everyone I met on that Saturday there could NOT have been nicer or more welcoming.
Another nice thing about such a large group is there will definitely be someone or several someones you will connect with. :)
And if all else fails, I'm nice to everyone, come hang with me! Or I try to be. I might say "I don't know you, who the heck are you??" but I won't walk away. ;)

Wendy I am sure you will find someone or more to spend the time with. I am not much for major group activities, more into being silly in the parks and socializing in line. Others were more into hanging by the pool and getting to know one another over a couple glasses of wine. All worked, all happened and IT WAS ALL GOOD.
I am the one who got "slighted" at the Jazz Kitchen. I was in no way offended or hurt. I just thought, okay dokay..let's move on with our day!! I only shared the story as I found it a hoot and to give others a "heads up".
So, no worrying...unless we do turn out to be creepy internet stalkers!!!

So, no worrying...unless we do turn out to be creepy internet stalkers!!!I'm sorry that happened but I'm glad you were able to brush it off and still have a great time. So great you've caved and are going again! ;)
I'm on the go so much when I'm there with my kids, that for me I'd like to keep a more mellow pace, do some shopping, some eating, some socializing, etc. Maybe not the whole time, I do want to hit some rides! But at least for part of it.
That is what's so great about a big group, you can almost always find someone who's willing to hang out with you and do whatever you're into at the moment. :dance3:

If you show up like that, you'll be sure to get lots of attention. Mainly from security guards escorting you off the premises, but still. ;)
They'll have to catch me first! ...but with my shoes it shouldn't be too hard, I'll probably end up tripping and falling into a fountain. :rotfl:

OK ok, I should confess.....I'm a snorer too. Its just that when I am awake, I notice everyone else snoring as well. If you guys woke up, you would have heard me. I in no way was trying to toss anyone under the bus. But truth be told, the snoring was loud.:duck:

I am just going to skip right over the LPF (especially since it only happened in
DBF's imagination). So up we get early on Friday morning. I was up first. Not because of anyone's snoring. Just because I have a hard time sleeping in general and my body knew it was time to get up. So I quickly hopped in the shower (I was careful not to slip) and got myself all clean. It was great that there was another sink outside the bathroom so we all were able to get ready without having to wait for each other too much.
I just have to say that I loved our view from our balcony. What a way to wake up in the morning.
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k266/stacerita/038.jpg
Cristabel got ready much faster than the rest of us and was just itchin to get
going and make it to rope drop. Since she was driving her car over there, she headed out to get to the parking structure and tram it over to the front of the line. I know she ran into Steph and they ended up being the first ones on Peter Pan. Part of me is jealous for that, but I chose to blow dry my hair. And those who roomed with me know what a feat that is.
My hair was not the only thing that kept us from going warp speed that morning. We all had to do what became known as "creative stretching" of our martini glass shirts. I guess I really should have paid more attention to the sizing. It was pretty obvious that I ordered a kiddie size and not a woman size. When I looked at Amy and Michelle, I could see I was not alone in that. So with the creative stretching and team work we all were able to get out shirts to fit us and look only semi obscene. Granted we all looked like Hooters rejects, but we wore our shirts proudly.
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k266/stacerita/053.jpg
Side note.....thanks to Michelle for bringing muffins to share. They were
yummy.
Amy, Michelle and I got to the front gates just as they were doing rope drop, so we were only a few minutes behind. The first thing we decided to do was jump on the double decker bus and head down Main St. As we were traveling along, guess who we spot standing there?......our good friend Tom from the day before. Unfortunately we couldn't get his attention so we didn't get to chat with him again. We took our pic at at Ariel's shell.
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k266/stacerita/043.jpg
After that, I can't remember exactly what order we started doing everything, but we did start stocking up on fast passes as soon as we could. I remember we also hit a bunch of rides....Space Mountain, Alice in Wonderland, Buzz, the Carousel, Big Thunder and a bunch more.
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k266/stacerita/045.jpg
By this time it was time for us to meet up for our lunch at Blue Bayou.
Michelle and I were doing the lunch and Amy was going to take the time to do some exploring on her own. Since she isn't doing her own trip report, I will
let you know what she did during her solo time. She hopped on over to DCA and road ToT a bunch of times.
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k266/stacerita/012.jpg
She had a pretzel which she said was delish. Then she needed a bit of AC so she stopped into Animation. While there, she copped a squat on the floor and took a nice nap. When she woke from her nap, she high tailed it over to the meeting place for the VIP Tour.
Back to Blue Bayou. Now why do I have Linda Ronstadt going through my mind??? It was great finally meeting more of our group. There was a little confusion getting us all in to the place and seated since some used a different entrance for the scooters and some of us went through the front. But once inside it was all good.
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k266/stacerita/047.jpg
I will say that it was really dark in there. I love the lanterns hanging over
head, but they don't give off nearly enough light to suit my fancy. I believe
there were a total of 15 of us at the lunch. We were seated at a long table so you were only able to chat with those one or two away from you on either side and right across from you. We were not on the water, but its nice no matter where you are seated. Except right by the kitchen I guess. Lucky for us we were close to the restrooms. But not so close that it was icky.
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k266/stacerita/048.jpg
The food was good. Pricey yes, but I am paying for everything, not just my food when eating there. So was it worth it? I would say so. Not something I do all the time, so it was a nice treat. I had the prime rib which was really good. Others had the ribs, monte cristo and the mushroom dish. All had good things to say about their food. The rolls that they give out at the start were delish. And at the end of the meal they passed out mints which were good. The only thing that I had a problem with was drinks not getting refilled. We did have a large party, but boy, was I thirsty.
I really had fun getting to know everyone and acting silly at the meal. We must have been quite a distraction though. We were loud and with our shirts we just stood out. Back fat and all. The checks went much more smoothly this time than the night before. Don't know why, it just did. So I was thankful for that.
Once done with our meal and our chit chat we knew we had to get moving to make it to meet everyone else for the VIP tour. So we left Blue Bayou and headed out. The meeting place was out by the "C" of California. We must have looked like a school trip gone bad with our matching shirts all hustling in a line zig zagging through the crowds. But we all made it out to the meeting place. Seeing all of us out there was something.
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k266/stacerita/052.jpg
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k266/stacerita/055.jpg
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k266/stacerita/057.jpg
I guess I didn't realize how many of us there were until I actually saw us all
out there. Thankfully, there were trees out there to stand under. Because this was quite a hot day. So not only did we put up with cabbage patch kids shirt sizes and back fat, we also had to worry about pit stains from sweat. Nice bunch of ladies huh?
Amy finally made it and meet back up with us. She quickly told us of her
wonderful adventures and of her nap. We filled her in on lunch and all.
Lesley was great. She had everything organized and let us know what was going on. She was also the person who brought Barbie Beth so she could go on the tour with us.
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k266/stacerita/062.jpg
Now that was great planning. I don't think we could thank Lesley enough for organizing the VIP tour for us. Its not easy to get that many women to do something. But she did.
So now is the time we were just waiting around waiting for our tour guides and for the VIP tour to start.
Next up....the VIP Tour, Ryan, his backside and preferred seating.

LOL, Linda Ronstadt! :rotfl:
There was a rumor my grandma used to tell me (while I thought it was a rumor, she said it was true) that Linda Ronstadt (whom I grew up listening to) lived in my city.. So every time we would drive by that house (which wasn't even a mansion or anything that you would expect someone like Linda Ronstadt to live in, and it was also on a busy street, so we passed it often) she would say "Mija! That's where Linda Ronstadt lives!" lol.
So who knows :confused3 But your mentioning of her made me bring that up and I wanted to share!

Now, the part of the trip you have all been waiting for........(can you hear the drum roll?).....its the VIP TOUR!!!! :cool1:
When I last left off, we were all waiting in the shade out by the "C" for our
guides to show up so we could get this party started. We were all standing
around when off in the distance we see three bodies moving towards us. They weren't one of us since there was no sight of Martini shirts on them, creatively stretched or not. But what I did see was plaid. Now this could only be catholic school girls, William Wallace wannabes or our guides. Surprise
surprise, it was our guides.
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k266/stacerita/063.jpg
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k266/stacerita/060.jpg
Lesley went up to them first and got things started. The guides introduced
themselves to us and before we knew it we were on our way. Now, it wasn't
exactly how I expected it. We sort of strolled down Main St while they talked about various things. Offering some trivia and general chit chat. The first thing we all wanted to do was take a picture in front of the castle as a group. That had to be one of the best moments. The pics came out great and it made for a great memory.
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k266/stacerita/068.jpg
After the pic in front of the castle we broke up into three groups. Lesley had
already broken it down for us. So that went smoothly. The groups were broken up in to groups of 10. It appeared that most everyone was placed into groups with their roomies and friends. All seemed to be happy with the groups.
Our guide was Ryan. :lovestruc
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k266/stacerita/069.jpg
He was a really nice guy. Just to much of a low talker for most of the tour. If you weren't super close to him you would miss what he was saying. So in trying to hear him, it looked like we were all trying to be all up on him or something. Not quite the case.
Now this is where things went a bit odd I think. I guess I thought that the
tour would be more structured. :confused3 It was more of him asking us what we wanted to do and then us doing it. He would provide information and tidbits and was ready to answer all our questions. But in my thinking that it was a structured tour, I kept waiting for it to start. Once I got over that, then it was fine.
We first went and grabbed fast passes for Indy. Why I needed a VIP tour guide to help me with that, I have no idea. But thankfully he was there because there was someone, I won't name names (cough amy cough) who had some issue working the fast pass machine. Luckily Ryan was there to help her put her pass back in and retrieve her fast pass with no further problems. Tour guide Ryan, you're my hero.:worship:
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k266/stacerita/075.jpg
We rode POTC and HM with Ryan. He had more info and tidbits to tell us about both rides. But once again, if you weren't right up with him, you missed out on what he was saying. I'm not sure who, but someone was lucky enough to ride with him on HM. While in the queue is when we noticed his hiney.
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k266/stacerita/076.jpg
After this is when we went over to the train to ride the Lillybelle. So did another group. We rock paper sissored it and got to ride. They were going to go to the next station to get their turn.
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k266/stacerita/077.jpg
Now that was a real treat. I always wanted to ride in it. It was great learning about the history of it and seeing all the items inside of it. Heck, it made us feel special to be able to ride in it. The only thing, I wished it had AC. The little fans just weren't doing it enough for me. The bummer part was that we only got to ride part of the trip and had to get off at the next station for the other group to have their turn on it. BOOOOOO!
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k266/stacerita/081.jpg
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k266/stacerita/079.jpg
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k266/stacerita/080.jpg
After we hopped off the Lilly Belle we made our way through FantasyLand. At this point we started begging Ryan to take us on Peter Pan, but not make us wait in line. I was hoping being a VIP would mean something you know. He kindly explained to us that he could not do that. He was not allowed to impact the rides with tour groups. I told him that if he really wanted to, he could make it happen. No luck though. Damn!:furious:
Ryan then showed us where the original center of the park was. He explained how it was the center before more lands were built. What the spike was made of. And who helped to drive it in.
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k266/stacerita/082.jpg
It was decided that we hop over to DCA to do stuff over there. Before though, we made a stop at Main St Station. I had never taken the time to check everything out in there. And even if I did, I would not have known what it all was. Ryan explained everything and answered our questions. I loved the part about the train that Walt had in his back yard. It was very interesting to know that Main St Station is considered a historic landmark.
Once we got to DCA, the first thing everyone wanted to do was ToT. That just really isn't my ride to be honest. I did ride it the day before. But I wasn't sure about today. Especially when they said they were going to take the pic while on their cell phones. Ummm, sorry. I need both my hands free so I can hold on for my life. There will be no cell phones out when I ride. So I told them to go on without me. I needed a potty break and was getting a head ache so I needed a coke. When I got over to ToT, I saw that I wasn't the only one who opted not to ride. I decided to sit more to myself in some shade and partake in a fave past time of mine.....people watching! :3dglasses
We made a quick trip over to Monsters Inc and that's when we were able to get Ryan to let loose a bit. We were teasing him about about he sexy plaid outfit and those hot polyester blend pants. He came back with a poll that was done on myspace about the "hot" uniforms of Disney. Amy and I are sure that Ryan wears his uniform out to the clubs to pick up on the ladies. :woohoo: Oh yeah! We also found out all about the cleaning of his pants, what they are allowed to ride and not ride while giving a tour and many other facinating things.
The Play Parade was just about to start so Ryan said he could get us somewhere close to see. We all assumed it would be the priority seating....wrong! He just kinda moved us in front of the information booth practically in front of other guests. That was a bit odd. I really didn't need to see the parade. I had just seen it the week before. But it was nice and shady where we were at so that was nice.
After the parade we moved on back to DL. Ryan took us up to the preferred seating area on the platform outside Main St Station where we sat to relax. He needed to take his break (mandatory per CA law) so he left us but said he would come back. At that time, the lowering of the flag was starting. It was the first time I got a chance to do that.
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k266/stacerita/084.jpg
The other groups showed up and Lesley let us know who was able to do which preferred seating when. We were all able to see the parade from that location though. It was nice to be able to sit and relax on a bench to see the parade. Ryan showed up after his break to let us know that there was an error and he would not be touring with us like he thought. I found out later that Katie and Steph tipped him for all of us. Don't ask me why I forgot to do that. But I was able to give the girls my share later.
At this time most everyone started scattering about. Some went to the room to rest, others went to eat, some took off to ride more rides and some went to go have some wine. What did Amy and I do?......we sat on the bench. It was gonna take an act of God to get us moving. We knew we wanted to eat. We knew we wanted to ride some rides. We knew we wanted to do other stuff. But we didn't want to move. So we just sat there. How long did we sit there for?........you will have to wait and see.;)

Stacie,
I LOVE LOVE LOVE that you took a picture of ALL THREE tour guides from behind before we were even giggling about Ryan's pants.
What a hoot--it was preordained!!
I had the same confusion about the VIP tour. I thought it would be more structured too. I guess we should have found out more about it. I think if I ever do it again, I will come up with a list of things I'd like to see, like a little behind the scenes at HM, I read once where someone got to ride the elevator back UP!! (the stretching room).
I know a lot of people really slammed Ryan...I liked the tour and his running of it, but he REALLY needs to be louder!! I feel i got my $30 worth, might not be as happy if it were $75!!!
I think I might have made him a bit uncomfortable since with my old lady hearing loss, I just glued myself to his side so I could hear all he had to say, he knows everything, I think, just wasn't loud enough!! He was my ride partner on Monsters!!

I rode the elevator back up twice--I was with my Mom who had to take her scooter all the way to the doom buggies, and when you come back you ride in the elevator back up to get out of the mansion. It was weird to be in that room with just the two of us and one of the CMs.
At the Ladies' trip Ruth needed to take her scooter to the doom buggies so the group of us who were riding also got to come back up in the elevator--a few more of us so it wasn't so creepy!

Trust me, I have not forgotten our end of the evening trip to City Hall. There is no way I couldn't tell that part of the story.
And I like leaving things with a cliff hanger. Makes it all more soap operay. Or maybe more like a Novela.
And please keep your eyes peeled for Ryan and Tom. If you run into either, you must take pics and post them.

When we last left our heroines.......
Amy and I were just sitting there on the benches where everyone left us after the parade just chatting away. Everyone left us one by one. For good reason too. Our conversation consisted of telling each other how happy our feet were that we had them up on the rail, and talking about our tour guide Ryan. Looking back I felt a bit bad that we didn't join anyone for dinner or go with anyone back into the park to play. But we were just sitting there with our happy feet loving every minute of it.
Now, I don't want everyone thinking that we sat there all night and did nothing else. It might have looked like that on the surface, but we didn't. After what seemed like a cross between eternity and two minutes we finally got up. I don't think it was so much our will to get up as our stomachs willing us to get some food. So what else are two hot chics on the prowl supposed to do for dinner? Now remind you, we were in our Martini glass shirts, so anything is possible. We did what every fun loving gal would do. We hit the corn dog cart.
Now, Ms Amy hadn't had one before. The horror!! How could that have happened I wondered. But it did. We couldn't have that. So we had corn dogs for our dinner. Lots of mustard, little kethcup. It didn't hurt that I love me some good corn dog either. We sat and chatted as we ate away at our gourmet dinner.
After dinner we had fast passes to use. First we went on Indy. Then decided we weren't gonna go back and do it again even though we had four more fast passes between us. So we were our own little Dream Team, Tom must have inspired us, and gave them to a mom with three kids. She was very happy. The line was long and she looked tired. We felt good so we skipped on over to Space Mountain. More fast passes to use there.
By this time it was almost time to head over back to the seating for the
fireworks. We got there and checked in. Who would have thought but our same seats were open still. Wooohooo! On the other side were some other DIS ladies, but there was no way we were gonna be able to get up and get to them. We were a little pooped. It was nice being all VIP in the roped off area. And the guy checking us in had a clip board. Reminded me of my old club days.
While sitting there, some guy brought his date up there to have a seat. They weren't on the list. She even mentioned to him that she thought this was special seating or VIP. He told her "Baby, I am VIP. I sit here all the time" So they sat down. And mister clipboard came over and had them go because it was going to be a full evening. He sputtered some junk then left. Amy and I couldn't stop giggling. Not very nice I know, but was completely funny. But Karma is a you know what. The group that actually sat behind us was horrid. Stupid jerks couldn't stop talking throughout the whole show. They were completely obnoxious and rude. UGH! The fireworks from that spot were great. I want to sit there every time I think.
As soon as they ended Amy and I made our plans for a fast getaway. We knew we didn't want to deal with the crowds and be made to feel like we were swimming up stream, so we got right in line for the train. It took forever for it to come around though. Eventually it did. We rode it all the way around to Tomorrow Land. After I heard that Amy had never done the Monorail, I knew that was the next ride we had to do. So we hopped on and took it round trip. It was nice and relaxing. It was late, but we still did another ride or two, can't remember exactly. But by this time, we were giddy and silly. It must be from the heat of the day, or the over exhaustion we had. But we were acting like a couple of drunks. That's when we had our great idea.
What was the idea you may be asking yourself?....Well, it was to go and tell City Hall that we liked Ryan's tour. We marched ourselves right in there and waited in line. I was surprised that there was a line that late at night. But there was. So we finally get our turn and talk to a sweet CM. We started but saying he was nice and gave a good tour. That he put up with our group who gave him a hard time. But before you knew it, our punch drunk selves were telling the CM that he had a cute backside. She couldn't believe we told her that. Then we proceeded to tell her we even had a pic of it. She was laughing so hard I thought she was gonna fall over or something. She just kept saying, "OMG, he's my co worker". But she was laughing about it. In order to make the compliment, we had to do it in writing. Amy graciously (after a bout of rock paper scissors) wrote it out. And would you believe that she even put that he had a nice hiney on the report??? She did. I saw the whole thing. He will probably never forget the Martini shirt girls that's for sure.
The park was now getting ready to close so we thought it best to head back to the hotel before we got ourselves into any trouble. The walk seemed really long tonight. But we made it. Almost didn't. I wasn't paying attention and almost died tripping over a sprinkler thingy. I'm just glad I lived to tell you about it.
When we got back to the room. Michelle was in bed watching tv all cozy like. We asked her about her adventures, then shared ours with her. Cristabel had already heading back home so it was just the three of us. Showers that night were a must. Then I headed right to bed. I was so tired that I didn't even notice anyone's snoring. Lucky for me huh?
So what does the next day hold in store for us? Wait and see!!
Sorry there were no pics for this part of the trip report. Amy and I just didn't think of taking any of ourselves.

Are you sure I mentioned his behind? I know I was having lots of trouble reaching any lucency of thought at that point!! Words to paper not going so well as we giggled and snorted. (admit it, there was snorting!!).
I guess if your memory is clear about it, then I did mention his butt, or his pants. How old am I?
Yeah, I think we would all do well to not wear our martini shirts to DL, there is probably a most wanted type poster in the break room for security with a photo of the shirt. PERSON OF INTEREST:Observe Closely!!!
Of course, if wearing results in your own personal security entourage you can just demonstrate you best Princess wave (elbow, elbow, wrist, wrist). and start a parade. Parades are Disney, right?
That night really is a bit of a blur. I know we went to Indy...not running, tram not running, BMTR, not running. It was like there was no room at the inn or something.
I do agree the walk back took about a month and a half. It could be the 8AM to midnight day? We also LAUGHED so hard we couldn't walk straight!!!
Good report Stacie, makes me GIGGLE!!!

Lets all make sure we thank Amy for reminding me about one of the funnier things that happened the night we had the VIP seats for the fireworks.
So Amy and I go and sit in the same seats we were in while watching the parade. When we sat down it was realized that we needed to actually check in. So I volunteer to go up to the clipboard guy and check us in. When I get up there he tells us we are already checked in. I'm like whatever. Cool.
But then he proceeds to tell me that it is a full house tonight and that all the seats will be taken. I just nod and go "uh huh". He then tells me that we will have to get about 5 or more people per bench since it is so full. :faint: Well, I just laugh at this. I ask him if he has seen the size of my hiney. If he notices it, he will see that there is no way 5 or more are gonna fit on my bench. Not only did I tell him this, and told him to look at my butt, but I also grab my backside and said, its just not gonna happen. He was sorta at a loss for words. I was like, no matter how many your clipboard says will be on my bench, I can tell you, with my bottom, its just not gonna happen. He then gave me the ~im gonna call security in about 10 secs~ look::cop: So I smiled and then made my way back to the bench.
I told Amy of my conversation, and she was all giggly and snorty (j/k). As luck would have it, we had the bench to ourselves. So a bench for 5 people really was for only Amy and I. Not sure what that is saying that because we took up space meant for 5, but I do know that the background music for that part of my evening was "i like big butts and I can not lie".
All that while I was wearing my martini glass shirt. Looking back I can't believe I did some of the things I did, or said. All I can say is wow.

There were about 30 of us so we all sent Lesley the things we were interested in or wanted to do. She compiled the list and pass that along to the tour people. But even though there were things we wanted to do, it was structured so we kinda were more of a whim thing. At least this is how I remember it being.

What Stacie said. However, I think if we (each group of 10) discussed amongst ourselves what we were really interested in, and had been able to direct Ryan more, we would have had a better experience. We just didn't know how to get the most out of our time. Ryan was very willing to follow our interests...but we weren't cohesive enough of a group to have a plan.
I don't know if that was understandable. If you plan to do a VIP, it is very worthwhile to have all members of the group agree and KNOW what it is they want to do through the tour.
Again, I had fun. I was just along for the ride, had given zero thoughts about any planning. It was ALL GOOD.

I do find that Friday night is a blur. Next time perhaps we should take notes!!
Waiting not so patiently to hear more!!

I know I know.....I'm hoping to get the last part done soon. I need to be home when I do it because I have pics to put in it. Hopefully in the next day or two. I have tons to tell. The slow morning, my feet not wanting to walk, my trip to Target, and brunch with Goofy. Lots and lots to tell. I will get it done soon. I promise.
We did have a hoot....probably even a hoot and a half.

Hey there! Sea World was fun. But we probably won't feel the need to do it again for quite a few years. Doesn't seem like all that much had changed since last time we went which was few years back. But we did have fun. The kids enjoyed themselves.
And I know I am slacking on the end to my trip report. Things have just been busy. DBF's kids have been down here with us so we have just been busy doing things with them. Plus, DD just had her promotion today so we have been getting ready for that. I just had the last few people leave.
I am hoping that tomorrow will be mellow so I should have the last of my trip report posted. Keep your fingers crossed.

Keep your fingers crossed.
I will, but it makes it hard to type!!
My DD really keeps bugging me to go to SW, I even have priced out the options of AP and the fun card, just am having trouble getting excited about it. Hmm, whales in cages. I live about 15 minutes from Sea world and drive by the entrance on my way to work, I guess the problem is that it is just not DL. Sure they have churros (if you can beat off the seagulls):furious: , but nope, magic, not feeling it!!
Okay, okay, I do like the free beer at the hospitality center. Makes me feel downright, well, hospitable!!!
You do sound busy. I wouldn't be able to remember the details of the last day of the trip in order to write about it. Dang, I am old!!!!
Congrats to your daughter!!!

they really give away free beer? (wish I liked beer!)
I haven't been to SW in probably 25 years. I was down in that area a couple of years ago for a conference but didn't have time to go. I'd like to see it just to see what is changed. My favorite part was they used to have like a Polynesian hut (like the Tiki room) where they served a punch drink. I really liked that. (Of course, that was way before I was old enough to drink too--so it was probably more than 25 years ago . . . . . ;)

Yes they do. You are limited to two samples, ( i think they are about 6 ozs, but I could be wrong). I am such a light weight these days, I get buzzed off one beer anyway!! Much to my mom's horror, I am a beer or tequila kind of gal. I fear she thinks that is a bit "ghetto".
Years ago, like early 90's I dated a guy who was totally forgetable in appearance. He was blond, 6"4", you'd think he's stick in your head. Nope. We were at Busch Gardens in FLA and they too give out beer. (Guess tha happens when you are in a theme park owned by a beer company!!). Dennis drank his 2 samples and went up and was given 2 more, drank those, and got two more. Emboldened by his success, I tried for a second set and was turned down FLAT!!! His answer was, "Pays to be Mr. Bland face, once in awhile!!".
But, I digress.
After such an absence, perhaps you should go again!! The vet clinic I work in takes care of their dalmatians, now that I think of it, how come I never hit them up for freebies? Hmm.
Okay, off the SW thing. Waiting in the heat for the last (how very sad) installement!!!

Well here it is, the finaly installment of my trip report. Its been a long time coming I know.
So we are now on my last day on the Girls Trip. The day before was way too long and way too hot. But way fun!!!:thumbsup2 We all start getting up in the morning and are all very groggy. We must have all slept like logs. I hardly noticed any snoring from anyone. And the pillow hair was quite frightening to say the least. Looked like we all got into fights with our pillows, and lost.
It was now time to test our true grit. Time to see what we are really made of. Here is where we separate the women from the girls. We needed to get out of bed. :scared1:
Talk about pain and discomfort. My feet and legs ached something awful. If I could have I would have stayed in bed and paid someone to rub them. They were so sore and tired. It was crazy. And I was not alone. We all shuffled around that hotel carpet slowly grimicing and moaning. I guess this is where we show our age and all. But we are troopers. We got ourseleves up and going.
Even though it was my last day and I was not heading into the park, we still had things to do. This was the morning of our Goofy's Kitchen visit. :goofy:
Once we were all ready and smiling like we weren't in pain, we still needed get the room picked up and for some of us, pack our bags. Basically, the room looked like bags exploded and stuff was everywhere. As always, I pack way more than I actually need. All of my roomies could have left their bags at home and I would have had enough to go around.
Now we were good to go. We looked hot in our brown Diva shirts. :firefight No creative stretching needed now. And no one was going to mistake us for Hooter rejects. We just looked good.
Michelle, Amy and I were all going our own ways before brunch. Michelle was heading to the park, Amy was going to DTD and I needed to make a Target run. My battery on my camera was running low and after brunch DBF was picking me up because we were heading to Big Bear, so I needed new batteries for the camera. So once my car was packed up, I was on my way.
Back in the car now I was back in party mode.....Ice Ice Baby!
Now, almost every Target store on the face of the plant is pretty much laid out the same way. I have been to tons of them, and there are really no changes from one to the next. But there was for this one. Now, I have been to this one quite a few times before. But never needed the camera dept or their batteries. So I head into the store and go right to the area where cameras "usually" are kept. But not in this store. Oh no. And two workers weren't sure either. That is how I got sent to various areas of the store without finding what I needed. Remember, my feet are sore and my legs are tired and I am forced to wander all over Target! UGH! I finally got my purchase then made the long walk back to my car.
I was now on my way back to Disney :cool1:
There was some construction going on in the parking lot at the Disneyland Hotel so I had to park my car in self parking. One of my fave things about going to Goofy's is the valet parking. Don't ask me why, but I like to treat myself when I am there. Not this time though. :( Anyways....
I make my way on into the hotel and head over to Goofy's. Some of our group is already there. Which is good since I am hungry. They are waiting in line still though.
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k266/stacerita/085.jpg
While waiting for them to call us up, we realize that Amy has not shown up yet. So I give her a holla and find she is making her way down DTD to find us. I peaked out the window and spotted her. We were all there now.
First we took our group pic. Sorry, I don't have a copy of that to show. But in case you were wondering, we looked hot. No worries. :thumbsup2
We got seated shortly after that and had a nice table.
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k266/stacerita/089.jpg
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k266/stacerita/087.jpg
Everyone got caught up with what everyone did that morning. Some of the group were lucky enough to get dreamed when they got into the park that morning. pixiedust:
As it had been for the last few days, everyone was pretty reved up and acting silly. It was a great time! The food was yummy and we had good character interaction. I was a little annoyed with Goofy though. :goofy: He came right up to our table and mussied up my hair!!!! Granted he wasn't in the room with me in the morning when it took forever and a day to blow dry, but still. Don't mess up my hair! Ever!
The best part of the breakfast was all the butts. Everyone seemed to be getting in on the action. The best butt of the morning had to go to Baloo though.
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k266/stacerita/100.jpg
Not to feel left out Amy had to get in on it too. She took a really nice pic to start with.
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k266/stacerita/115.jpg
Then she got herself some Chipmunk butt.
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k266/stacerita/114.jpg
Once we all finished eating, did the macarena and too all the butt pics we could handle it was about time for us to go. Personally for me, I didn't want my weekend to end. I had such a great time.
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k266/stacerita/123.jpg
So that was my trip report. I was only there from Thursday to Saturday, but I made the most of every minute there. I went to the trip not really knowing anyone, but left having made friends. I never had the chance to go somewhere like this solo before, so it gave me some life experiences that I am happy to have had. I left with some great stories, and good times. What more could I ask for.
Just wait till next year when I do this all over again. ;)

Hey there Stacie! Thanks so much for the trip report. Here I was feeling guilty not doing one of my own, but you've pretty much captured it all for me.
My updates.....after the VIP tour I went back to the room and went to Bubba Gump with Katie and Steph for dinner. (You guys didn't want to walk that far and were more interested in corn dogs! Which, I do have to admit, I like alot.) I got a couple of fast passes on Sat. morning, then my friend Michelle (I feel like the scene from Bob Hope show....I'm Michelle, and this is my other friend Michelle!) grabbed the monorail over to DtD together. I got to get her into the front car with the pilot (or is it Captain...now I can't remember.) Otherwise, the details are the same. Oh, except I didn't hear anyone snoring, so one of them was probably me....though I don't usually snore unless I'm sick...oh well.
That pretty much augments what you've written, otherwise you're just so very complete that I no longer feel the need to write one myself!
I LOVED having all of you for roomies! We need to do a small "roomie" get together sometime soon!
Oh, and Amy, my family loves Sea World, so if you want someone to go with you and DD, just let me know!

Stacie,
Honestly, I think I found that to be one of the funniest moments of our entire trip. I know about your hair thing, and here's Goofy with his big 'ol gloved hands all over it. Had to love the irony/Murphy's law going on there!!!
Oh, and could you have posted a less flattering photo of me? Who knew my face/eyes could even do that?
Hey, with the weather and humidity, hows that hair doing now??
I've been back to swimming laps, so my big hair is even larger, and looking a bit like straw. Probably why Goofy went after your hair!! It looks so touchable!!!
Good trip report...wish we'd stayed longer!!!

Yeah, that corndog was delilcious!!! I had heard about riding the monorail up front at WDW, didn't know you could ask at DL. (duh). Of course, our silliness might have been a bit too distracting to the engineer/pilot/driver of the monorail. We had abut reached a fevered pitch about then!!!

OmG best trip report ever!
I seriously laughed and laughed and laughed. So much that as DH got up to have breakfast before heading off to work he was all looking at me funny- cause I was all laughing at my computer screen.
:lmao:
I love it.. can related to so much (including don't mess with my hair! I don't even care if it looks a mess- it could get worse so don't touch it LOL What is it with Goofy? I remember one breakfast at AKL he did the same thing to me and that was in the MORNING! I mean don't touch my hair but especially don't touch my hair in the morning. I'm more "pleasant" later in the day. look at the time of day it is now- I haven't slept yet.. needless to say I'm not a morning person by any means LOL)
I don't even know how I came across this thread- I think the new ladies only thread had a link or something and I felt like reading so here I ended up. But I'm glad I read it!
Sounds like such a blast! Wishing I lived closer so I could do the ladies only mini-meets!
(oh and I'm relating to the hooters looking shirts too- as I just tried on clothes last night packing for our upcoming DL trip/cruise and quite a few of my shirts, including trip shirts, need some "creative stretching" as well LOL I'm gonna look like a hooter's reject too, I'm afraid)

All I can say is wow.Oh my goodness! I have been laughing this whole time. Then I got to this quote and it really got me going. LOL!!!!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I would have loved to have heard this converstion, and seen the CM's face!! :rotfl:
