Disney again? Whaddaya? Nuts?!!!

That is my I am going back to Disney dance. :confused: This is my DH still not getting why I want to go back again.:eek: This is my family and friends reaction to me going back again, they think I am nuts. and:snooty: This is me not caring what anybody else thinks.

My name is Ty, and this will be my 3rd trip to Disney, April 06 being my first and December 07 being the 2nd.

should I tell the story of my addiction? I should as it will be most helpful in understanding my need for the Kingdom and all.

I went, I saw, got hooked!!!!

However the first time I went I was with my DH and 2 kids. I never got my picture with Mickey, I saw him from a distance but we all know that doesn't count. DH acted like an Ogre the whole time and I never even got a T-shirt, so I plan a second trip, the DH and DS did not want to go, so it was DD, myself a friend and her DD. I did see the mouse and got my picture a couple of times with him, I even got a T-shirt.

So you ask me now, "Ty?, why go again." And I tell you, "Why not?" Disney is there just waiting for me to go back. It calls my name every waking minute of my life. Goofy shows up in my dreams beckoning me with Dole whip Floats. I have to go back, it is my destiny!!:cool2:

I had started talking about going again this past February, nobody was onboard with that. :confused3 Dude's are you kidding me? It's Disney!

I had no choice but to go outside the fam damily and look for a fellow travel mate. NOBODY wanted to go, so I did some soul searching and talked to Kent and finally decided on a solo trip.
I have read TR's about solo trips. this could work, I do what I want, when I want, how I want. :love: I am falling in love with this idea. I immediatley started to feel empowered.

I have a hard time being alone. Eating and going on rides by myself would be the hardest, but dang it, I can do it. "I am woman hear me roar."

One day I am out to lunch with my friend Lo. Fudruckers to be exact, I ordered the burger and fries and chocolate milkshake. A fudruckers burger is the closest I can get to a burger at The Sci-Fi at Disney studios. Yummo.

I was telling my friend about my impending solo trip to Disney, and out of nowhere she says "I want to go." :scared1: <----- do not look at this as a scary face. It was an OMG you have got to be kidding me, I never would have thought that Lo would want to go on a kidless trip with me. Why?

She is the mother of 5, she is the mother of all mother, her kids come first in everything, not to say my kids don't come first, but since my kids have already been to Disney World I have no qualms about going with out them. Lo has taken her kids to Disneyland, but c'mon guys we all know the difference there.

Lo went home and talked to her DH and bless his heart, he told her to go and have fun. she was concerned about her kids and their feelings and so has decided to keep it a secret from them. I told her to think of this trip as research for when she does take the family.

Our travel dates are Jan16th -Jan24th. that is a glorious 8 nights 9 days.
We will stay at Pop Century. Same place I have always stayed, Lo is in agreement with me about it just being a place to shower and lay your head at night. I really like Pop Century though, eventually someday I will try another resort, but this is where Lo plans to stay when her family goes, so she might as well check it out fully. We don't plan to spend much time in the room anyway.
It's been fun getting together and making plans, figuring out where we want to eat because we are doing the dining plan.

We have a few rules for this trip.
NO fanny packs allowed!!!!! breaking that rule is punishable to the full extent of the law. We are too cool for fanny packs. Some of you might think this is such a non essential thing to worry and obsess over. But I am telling you the right bag can make or break a Disney trip.

Example: last year I purchased two bags for the trip, the first day I use my black backpackish/camera bag. It was awkward, it held everything but the snap wouldn't stay shut and the bulk made it hard to stow it away on rides, the snap would pop and my contents would spill. It wasn't over packed, trust me. A camera, extra batteries, lip gloss, cell phone, wallet and park map.
So the second day I switch to my brown messenger bag, easier to carry, it was bigger but not bulky. however it had no compartments for stuff, so I could never find anything. I wasted precious time stopping and looking for my lipglosss and or my phone.

so needless to say, I am on the watch for a cool bag, I have looked at bagallinis, but it's not really what I have in mind.

I am excited for this trip but I have learned to control my excitement, if I mention Disney too much the husband might serve me up one of them divorce things.

SO here is the beginning of my pre trip, I roughly have 8 months to go. Please everyone help make it go by fast.

VroomVroomLightning I'm a kid myself at Disney so I really don't see me doing things much different, at the most I will get to bed earlier and won't need to worry about 2 teen kids hanging out till all hours of the night. Then again I could go to a club and not have to worry about 2 teen kids!!!

Yes we are going back DH promised me that we could go! I had been having some treatments and felt crappy and he said I know what will make you feel a little bit better. I was like WHAT nothing will make me feel better till this is over! He was like Yes it will why don't you start planning the NEXT DISNEY TRIP! I was oh yeah I feel better!
So I started looking into everything we had planned on going in Oct for Tyler's birthday and then they offered free dining so I mentioned going two weeks earlier than what we had planned to get free dining. He said even better. I promptly put an email out to the WHOLE family both sides asking anyone who wants to go to start thinking for for Sept 09.

As for my brother he was supposed to go with us last year for christmas, but his girlfriend at the time said that is where they were going for their honeymoon. I asked if I had missed a big announcement:confused3 and my brother said NO you didn't I was like OK:confused3 . As time got closer I kept nagging him to go with us and he was very on the fence but she won:stir: ! We left for Disney without him. I talked to him every day of our trip and even on Christmas eve He was kicking himself that he didn't come, I told him get on a plane and get down here we will sneak you into the cabin. He was very temped to do it, but said he would go the next time we go and he would go with or without her!:cool1: Andy has never been to disney and he can't wait to go. After seeing Pictures of my DH with all the hats on he said He will defiantly will be doing that. He has now split from the GF:woohoo: The day he told me he was coming I asked if she was coming ( do you get the drift that I don't like her) and my cell ringed and it was my brother saying I am coming alone and she isn't in the picture any more we just split this morning:cool1: :yay: :banana: :hyper: . I was so excited that he told me he was going with us I had a tear in my eye:sad1: I can't wait to show him the magic of DISNEY!

My SIL and her family maybe coming too! I have priced it for them and it might only be around 2300 for them. So we are very excited I have even gotten my niece looking at video's of Disney on youtube, just to egg her mom on. Someday my dreams a a huge grand gathering will come true!

As for the crowds anything is better than the crowds that we had the week of christmas:santa: . That was horrid. Fast passes were out by noon. You could get FP at 2 pm for 10pm. It wasn't good! We spent more time in lines for rides that anything else. We averaged three to four rides a day.

I can't wait to hear more of your plans:yay: no Kids lucky you! that is another dream of mine.

DISNEY4XMAS Don't you just love introducing newbies to the world? Disney never loses it's luster for me, but I love feeding into the excitement of someone who has never been. You all are gonna have a great time.

I thought I would give you just a little more background info.

I first met Lo through cougar competition cheerleading about a year and a half ago. Her oldest cheered a level above Reese, her youngest cheered a level below Reese, but when they had tryouts for a team to go to nationals all 3 girls were on the same team. So I started seeing Lo more at meetings and practices, we still didn't hit off until the following season. See, Lo was new to the area and everybody just kind of stuck to their clicks, Lo didn't have one, but last football cheer season her youngest got bumped up to Reese's level so we started sitting together at games and then it escalated from there. When I left Cougars and went to Raptors she and her girls came too.

Since then she and her girls have gone to Vipers and Reese is taking a year off from competitive cheerleading to try her hand at something else. She wants to do drama and she is busy with the band, her and Jim have written several new songs. Oh and last night she made the Red Lion Freshman Cheerleading squad, so she will still be cheering, but only at games.

Anyway, it was during Raptors that Lo and I got close, we started doing weekly lunches and daily phone chats.

We both keep having these small crisis's jumping up, we take turns on that, so now we won't know for sure until the end of the month if Disney is a sure thing for us both, or If I am back to a solo trip. I think we're ok though.

We went yesterday to book our trip, and now we're being told that Disney won't release their January package prices until September. But the good news is I don't need a ressie number to make ADR's, I can still book 180 days out.
I'm bummed though, it feels like the trip isn't real right now because I don't have anything solid in the works, plus it's easier to make payments to something as opposed to just putting the money away to pay later. I think I am going to go open a savings account and just transfer money monthly.

We have changed the dates a bit so that we can come home on a weekend and rest a bit before jumping into life with kids again. By doing this we have gained an extra day there. So now we are there for 8 nights and 9 days. Maybe this time we will get to see and do it all.

I let her know that it's not just one big drop but a bunch of tiny little drops, that kind of takes away from the fear factor I think. I know when I rode it the first time I was expecting it to be much worse than what it was. I really hope she decides to ride it cause seriously I don't want to have to knock her out and then drag her on it. I thought about getting her liquored up and then just letting her think we were taking the elevator up to our own room.

We went over all the restaraunts to choose from, Lo is super picky when it comes to food. she didn't like the Olive Garden? How crazy is that? She does'nt eat veggies, mexican food or Seafood of any kind.

So our plan is to eat at Coral Reef our first night there, she can order steak, I know I am getting the crab legs if they offer them.

You definitely have to see Spectromagic! I saw it on my last trip (many years ago) with my mom. My dad and siblings thought it would be dumb and wanted one last ride on Space Mt. We stood in awe. We had been disappointed that they did away with the Electric Light Parade (loved that theme song) but it was a great addition!

We're eating in the castle, Coral Reef, 50's PrimeTime, Crystal Palace, and WCC, too!

DISNEY4XMAS I feel lucky to be going back, 2009 feels like a long time to wait, I am basically close to 7 months out, the time will fly once school starts I'm sure.

I really hope i get to do it all this time.

xoprincessmomxo I wanted to see spectromagic so bad last time but we were always at another park with other plans that I couldn't change, I will definitley write it into the agenda this time.

Lo has got the bug and I am glad to say I gave it to her. Last Tuesday she anounced that she wanted to dress in a Disney themed T-shirt for each day ofour vacation. YES!!!! that is the spirit. So we went to our Disney store in Lancaster and guess what?...They had closed down! NOOOOOOOOOOOO!
I think there is one in MD, we'll have to go online and check. So in the meantime we have been looking at other places, Lo found a cute eayore T-shirt at Walmart, it almost looks like a football jersey. Then at Kohls, she got a really cute Tinkerbell watch, I got the cutest Mickey head watch.

Every time we are away from her kids we talk Disney and get this, Lo wants to learn the songs from all the Disney movies.

We played a couple rounds of Disney scene it with her kids and their friends yesterday, it became a competition between the two of us, poor kids!! But then again they begged us to play with them. I thought it was super cute though that all the kids were fighting cause they wanted me on their team, they had to draw names to make it fair. I will say though it was Lo's daughter who gave the winning answer for our team.

This trip is going to be fun, and we do have a surprise in store for disney, I can't elaborate until I have a picture to post with it. I will say this......

We got Dh grumpy "does it look like I care" tee there too! Well I hope that you have a Kmart... Disneyonline store has good clearence shirts! Don't forget to make one of your own.

This is Noah, he is 2 and 1/2 weeks old, the newest addition to my family. Noah will be going to Disney with Lo and I. I can't wait to dress him up in little Disney outfits and get baby Mickey ears for him.

He is almost 8lbs, quite the little chunker. I will definitely invest in a front pack for the little guy.

Of course I know he will not be able to go on the big rides, so I will either leave him in the room at times or possibly put him in a locker.

Well guys, Noah is a baby doll. Lo is a babydoll reborner, she takes a basic doll and paints it and roots the hair to look like a real baby. she made Noah for me and I take him every where, people freak when they discover he's not real. But I am telling you, pictures do not do him justice, he even feels real and has what I call the baby head flop factor.

I plan to get Noahs picture taken with all the characters. How much fun is that? And I can make a new autograph album now, it won't matter if I have repeat pictures because they will have Noah in them.

I'm sure some of you might be thinking I have fallen off my rocker, I assure you I haven't, I sit and rock Noah every night, there is a certain comfort in holding a baby ya know.

Lo might be bringing a girl with her, she's not sure yet. I think she should.

OK let's get real here for a sec. At the airport, should I tell security it's a doll before laying it down on the x-ray machine?:lmao: it would be evil not to, I might even get in trouble. Should I lay him on my luggage and wheel him through the airport, how about sticking him in the overhead while in flight?:rotfl2:
Honestly I would never do that, I treat Noah like I would a real baby, but it's fun to laugh at all the different scenarios, only because of what people have said to me at times, just the other night at WalMart a lady told me that Noah was still too "new" to be taken out in public. And at the bank drive through the teller told me I needed to put him in a car seat.

Anyway, that is my surprise for Disney, I am going to pass noah off as a real baby, it won't be hard because Lo does excellent work, she even paints on the little capillaries and viens.

I am not trying to push her business, I just love my doll so much I want to share with everyone, if you have any questions though you can PM me.

I love love love this watch and can't wait to wear it to Disney, I want to wear it now but I am afraid I might scratch it. I do that all the time, not scratch my watches but buy something and then don't use it out of fear I might ruin it before the special occasion.

Just for old times sakes I went back and read my very first trip report, Three decades of waiting and I was amazed at how excited I got from reading it, my next trip report Rumor has it... didn't give me the same feeling, it kinda bummed me out. I am all about Disney, I am ready to go back right now, it's just sad to me though that I will never have that first time experience again. I know I will still have a few firsts at Disney, like a new show or restaraunt, but I will never have the big excitement of not really knowing what is in store for me. It's almost the same feeling of finding out your child no longer "believes" . I want that first time back.

I did a little shopping today to get me out of my Disney funk. I got 2 awesome shirts at walmart. One is Kermit, luv the green guy, the other was Mickey. they also had tink, Eayore and tigger but they will have to wait a bit. I called Lo she was at cheerleading with her girls, so I hid some away for her until she can get there, that's what friends are for.

I picked up a few things to put in Lo's goody bag, I will give it to her right before our trip, it'll be over flowing by then. I am getting excited. I don't know why I got the DIsney blues for a few days, but I just started reading trip reports and it helped alot.

Lo is totally in the spirit, she got me a light up cell phone charm, it's baby Goofy and super cute.

I have been on the lookout for Disney outfits for baby Noah, he needs long sleeves and long pants because he only has the 1/25 limbs, the rest is soft body, I guess I will have to wait until fall, so far all I have found is summer outfits for him, I'm going to look at yard sales though. I would like to tell you he is excited too, but you might think I am nuts considering he is only (and will always be) 2 weeks old and he's a doll. But really he is excited!!!! Just like his mama.

I was wondering where you were my friend. I used to be uber busy in the summers, but now that I have no buisness, no job, no career, I am constantly bored. Isn't Noah just the most perfect baby, he sleeps so good for me, it costs nothing to feed him and he's been in the same diaper for almost a month now.

I totally love my Mickey watch, it's my favorite on now. I can never tell what time it really is, but it's still cute to wear.

I have talked to the kids quite alot this summer, I told their Dad if he takes their cell phones from them, then not only will I make an issue of it when we got to court this July, but I will also let him pay the phone bill.

I have been debating if I should take Noah to Disney. Will he be considered a carry on for the plane? Cause I have my carry on, one personal item and then Noah.

And then my first day there, we plan to fly out about 10:00am, (depends on SWA) which we are thinking if all goes well we will end up at Pop around 2ish, we plan to hit Epcot right away, if our rooms are not ready I would have to take Noah with me because no way am I leaving him behind with the luggage. I don't mind taking Noah to Epcot and just putting him in a locker while we go on rides, but I am afraid someone will see me put him in the locker and then a big ole mess will happen and I'll have to explain why I have a realistic baby doll, they might think I am sadistic and ban me from Disney. Cause I heard they don't allow sadistic people there ya know. I suppose I could have him warpped in a blanket, in a shopping bag and no one would be the wiser.

Question, and I am serious, do you think the CM's would allow me to bring Noah on the rides once they found out he was a doll, or do you think just for the freaky factor they would say no?

Should I bring Noah to Disney at all? I think Lo is bringing a baby girl doll, hasn't been named yet considering it's still just an ampty mold.

Im sry! I have been so busy! I just got a new job and so did DF so we are trying to figure everything out and there is a TON of paper work. Southwest also opened flights today, so I was busy booking our flights for December!

I am not sure if you should or shouldn't bring baby noah. Personally if I was a park guest and saw someone with a baby put him in a cargo net or locker I would have figured it was a doll, and admittedly I might think "who they are weird" I wouldn't think to call security. But that it totally up to you.

As for not alot of conversation, I have noticed that most of the threads I have subscribed to seem to be going dead???? It must be a busy time for people and they aren't spending alot of time online. On my Pre-TR I am basically talking to myself too!:laughing:

Ok I am here! I have been busy at work and the nerve of them they have blocked out all internet! So being there 8 hours a night really kills my DIS'ing. And now with the kids out of school, I actually get to sleep a little later! So that cuts down my time to!
So here are my thought with baby noah! I think it would be hysterical to bring him, but than again I am a chicken, and I would never do it. Also I would Hate to see you get banned from Disney for scaring the crap out of people! So in my opinion I wouldn't bring Noah!

As for the boards it is rather slow! I have total noticed that, I think I had only two people comment on the WHOLE trip report and a few fillers here and there! And actually one of my regulars left the boards! And the other hhhhmmmm I don't know about her! she hasn't even finished her own trip report YET and she left and was back before I was even gone:eek: !! Does anyone here KNOW HER! Major change in plans here.

Ok, so I have told you all that this trip was to be a secret from Lo's kids, she was going to use this trip as a "planning" trip for her family trip in 18 months. Well Lo and the kids came over Monday to swim, it was chilly so when we came in the house we did the whole hot chocolate thing while her scrapbooking daughter looked through my Disney albums. This got her and her brtoher super excited about Disney and they kept saying they couldn't wait to go. The look on Lo's face was killing me, she was hurting knowing that she would be going for the first time without her family.

Outside we talked a bit, and she mentioned maybe postponing until Dec 2009 and I was welcome to go with them. I told her that i would probably just do my solo trip as planned, then she said "No, I want to go with you when you go, the kids will be upset but they will get over it in time." I was like whatever, but happy that our girls only adults only trip was still on.

I have had such guilt since then, and Lo has nothing to do with it, no pressure from her I mean. But I know that Disney was so special to me the first time I went because I was with my family. We got to share all the firsts.
First look at the castle, first character dining, first ride, etc. etc...

So I have sent an e-mail to Lo and told her I don't mind waiting 18 months so that she can go with her family, I won't be taking my solo trip now because I want to take my kids too, so our solo mom's trip has turned into a grand gathering.

She has room for all 8 of us in her vehicle, but that is a cramped 16 hours, I am not sure yet if my kids and I will fly down, or drive down with Lo and family. With us splitting gas it would be way cheaper, but do I want to trade in comfort?

I still don't know what Lo will say about my e-mail, she might want to keep the solo mom trip, and then go again in 18 months.

The more I have thought about it, the more excited I get about going with my kids again. Kent won't go, it's trapping season. And I really like the thought of going during the empty January month, although the first week of December last year was not that bad. I wonder how much of a difference it will be?

Anywhoo, I am thinking that this Pretrip report is going to end shortly and i will start a new one when the time is closer. I think we will be able to book this December.

It's funny, cause last year I was able to book a year in advance. But for this January trip, I won't be able to book until September. They said it has something to do with when Disney posts their new package prices. I hope I can book this December.

I am in the same predicament I might be going with a few girls that I met on the W.I.S.H boards and Dh is giving me a guilt trip! I think he is trying to use up his vacation time too so he can't take the few days I am away to take care of the kids! He is jealous. We have always said that we would go together with NO kids.... but it never happened. Now with the kids in school and no one to keep them for a week it is hard for us to get away! BUT I STILL WANT to GO IN DECEMBER BY MYSELF...... I stomped my feet while I did that! :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

I am not that devastated about our adults only trip possibley being canceled, (postponed) Disney is Disney. And honestly I can't wait to see the looks on her little ones faces when they see the castle for the first time. Her youngest boy is all about Star Wars, I purposely did not mention they have a Star Wars attraction there, I am looking forward to his little face and huge smile.

Plus Reese and I can always go off and do our own thing, I have a feeling
Jim will ask if he could just have his share of the money that would of been used on the trip to buy a bigger amp or something instead of actually going to Disney, and seeing as it will be his senior year, I will do whatever he wishes.

My ultimate goal for the future, and this will happen, is to go on my solo trip and meet up with friends I have made on the Disboards.

My sister and I have a plan to go when Jazzlynn is 5 years old, we'd do the whole BBB and take tons of pictures. When my sister goes to visit her at the hospital she always reads her a Disney story and then tells her her Aunt Disney (that's what they call me) loves her.

So there is major Disney trips ahead for me, each one will be special in their own way. I will do the adult trip someday, even if it is to celebrate my 50th Birthday.:woohoo:

It is official. Our girls only adults only trip has been canceled. we will go with our familys inDecember 2009. I have talked to the kids about it and they are on board, even Jim which was surprising, and... I didn't even mention that Ashley was going when I brought the trip up to him (he loves to flirt with her) so I knew he was going for the fun of it and not just because of Ashely.
So it looks like we will go book when they post their 2009 prices. Only thing now is trying to work it out with her girls competition schedule. I have a small window that I can go in. We are hoping to all go together and stay the whole duraton together but we might end up with over lapping vacations. Regardless I am thrilled that I get to take my kids again. But anyway, I was just coming here to say this PTR has come to an end and I will start a new one much later.

I will still look for ya'll around the boards, I know you have upcoming trips still and I can't wait to read those TR's.
