Hi all -

Just wondering if anyone knows - and I'm sure you do! - about reserving a suite at the Country Inn Calypso Cay through Valuetrips.com. If I provide them with my credit card number when booking online, can I pay cash when we arrive and have nothing charged to my card?
I just paid it off and only want to use it for emergencies.....of course this would qualify if necessary!!!

Also want to say thanks to everyone for all of the valuable information.

Yes, just tell them at check in that you will be paying cash when you check out.

Thanks for the info! I'm having quite a time booking a room at this hotel though! ValueTrips has no availibility, when I try to call the hotel I get a wide range of rates anywhere from $54 (should have jumped on it then but wasn't sure of our dates) to $119. I read in another post that someone got a good rate using the Entertainment card. I called the hotel directly last night and was told to call back today between 8 am - 5 pm. When I called today at 3:00 I was told to call back tomorrow between 8 am - 2 pm. This getting frustrating!

There is a manager there that posts here quite often. I think her name is Faye Goldberg. She said in many posts if you need anything answered feel free to call or email her directly. Do a search using the word calypso and you'll find her number and email. I think I'd call or email her and tell her you really have been scrambling to get that low rate and see if she can advise??? Good luck and let us know!

I finally figured out why I couldn't get the Value Trips rate - in the fine print at the bottom of the rate page, it says that the last two nights of my trip (April 25 - 27) are excluded (not sure why). So I booked the first 5 nights through there for $69 and then the last two through the CI&S website for $99. Wondering if I can talk them into the $69 rate for the whole week when we check in!!! Even if I can't, I still feel like we're getting a good deal considering we had HIFS booked for $119/nt.

Hi Cyndi,

Have you tried the Entertaintment Rate for your dates.
For May is $59.00 for the Kid suite. "Just a thought" :bounce:

Alis -

Do you remember who you spoke with to get this rate? I called the hotel directly and was told the Entertainment rate for the Kidsuite was $99, and the King suite is $59.

Thanks!

Cyndi

We'll be there in 9 days!! :Pinkbounc

Hi Cyndi,

Call the hotel again and ask for the entertainment rate for your dates. Don't let them know
you already have a reservation. The $99 rate can't be the "entertainment rate" because that's the regular room rate for the kid suite. The name of the person that made my reservation is nichole I'm not 100% sure because I have called so many times and I don't always ask for their names. She told me the prices were $39.50 for the regular room (2 qeen beds), $59.00 for the one bedroom suite (one King bed & the sofa bed) and 59.00 for the Country kid suite. She (whoever) was not the nicest person in the word but I'm not either so who is it anyway. She did her work right and quick and I am happy with my reservation (one kid suite). It's just like CRO if someone do not satisfy you hang up and call again until you find the someone willing to help you.
