Sad to say that a trip to Disney and the scariest ride you went on was a bus ride!!!

Another trip to Disney....

I last stated on my trip report that if we got to go again we would be flying.... well we nixed that idea.... we are still driving.

Last August, my Mother and I took our first trip to Disney....
When we left, I wanted to return but didn't think it was gonna happen....
But... WE ARE RETURNING!!!!!!

Better yet.... we aren't returning alone. My Best Friend Hope informed me way back in January that they are gonna go too.... so we have planned everything to be together.

First... a little about last years trip...

IT WASN'T LONG ENOUGH!!!!!

We only had 3 days to spend in the parks and had to split one day between MGM and Animal Kingdom.... big mistake!!!!

I did enjoy what we did get to do, but we really didn't get to do much.
At MGM... we rode Backlot tour, Great Movie Ride, saw Little Mermaid and I rode TOT.... that's it... we ran out of time!!!!

At AK.... we ate lunch, dodged the rain, traveled the Pagini trail, and rode the Kilimanjaro Safari... THAT WAS IT!!!!

This year, we are taking seperate days for these parks..... so hopefully we can do more that we couldn't last time.

We also are NOT doing any park hopping.... that was a disaster!!!!

That would be the bus ride in the title.....
(here is how I wrote about it in my trip report)

We left MGM and headed to the bus to AK!
The bus pulled up and loaded our EVCs onto it, but not sure exactly what happened then..... all the other people waiting to go to AK were directed to get on another bus.... MOM AND I HAD THE BUS TO OURSELVES

But this was one of the worst trips!!!!!
The Worst Bus Ride!

As I stated before we got on the bus from MGM to the Animal Kingdom..... both of our scooters were loaded and locked down.... but no one else got on the bus. I couldn't hear what the driver was telling people but I do believe he was pointing them to another bus that had pulled up... No one else was allowed on the bus.... which I really found strange. He must have been going on a break but had to take us because we were already loaded.... at least that was my thought at the time.... not sure now.

After a few minutes, the driver says its just us and starts pulling out..... about a minute or two after pulling out of the lot, while the bus was turning a corner, the bindings tying my scooter down came loose and I found myself being thrown to the other side of the bus... fortunately I had enough foresight to put my right foot down on the floor and was able to right myself and the scooter before doing any damage!

I kept my foot down, and shortly the driver was on the radio informing (I guess) dispatch that he was pulling over due to a toppled wheelchair!!! He pulls over at the nearest place, which happens to be the Swan, and comes back to check on the situation... he first asks if I am ok... which I am.... then he adjusts the straps to fix the scooter back down... Mom was in front of me and oblivious to what had happened so I had to tell her what was going on. After this I opt to spend the rest of the trip on the bus seat!

We pull out of the Swan lot and continue our journey to AK.... then, I see the signs.... (if I remember correctly the directions) turn right for Animal Kingdom park... continue straight for Animal Kingdom Lodge!!!! and.... the DRIVER DOESN'T TURN!!!! I blurt out "NOT THE LODGE" but doubt the driver can hear me..... now I am freaking out! I am already shook up from the tumble, and now he is taking us to the wrong place!

He pulls up at the lodge and opens the doors.... (one good sign, he didn't come back to unhook us) no one boarded and then we started moving again... this time we really were heading to AK.... and I was glad to arrive..

Hopefully our bus rides will be less eventful this year.....

Hi Michelle, just read through your trip review from last year. The last time I went to disney was almost 9 years ago. I took my dad who had to have a wheelchair and oxygen. We had a great trip together!!! Dad lived with me for 8 years before he went home to be with the Lord. My family is returning to Disney this September and I am sure it will bring back many wonderful memories for us. Fortunately, we did not have any scary bus stories because we stayed off property last time. This time, we are staying at ASMo....I have two grandsons now that will be going for the first time....should be loads of fun....Hope this trip is great for you guys and no bus incidents:goodvibes !!!! Ok... I set myself to type something today on this report....

Actually since it is a pre-trip report, I am hard pressed to think what to type..

A little more about last years trip as it pertains to what needs doing this year..
Our second day wasn't as eventful as our first, but it had moments...
My Mom was having one of her spells, was very sleepy and kind of out it, but she was insistent on going to the park... this made things go slower because was concerned for her.

It was MK this time... Bus trip just consisted of a screaming baby next to me that wanted to slap me. We were late for the rope drop, but can't remember what time we arrived.
Not knowing where best to go, we traveled straight to the Castle snapping this pic as we went...

Our decision was made which way to turn by another screaming child... the opposite direction!!!

First thing we saw was The Hall of Presidents, but was too early for a show so we continued on by...
Then Low and Behold... in front of us... THE HAUNTED MANSION!!! I REALLLLLLLLY wanted to do this, was one of my favs from my first trip 28 years prior, and the only one still up and running! BUT at this time, the ride was closed for renovations :confused: It better be opened this year!!!!
On to Fantasyland... we pass Peter Pan (I did grab a fastpass to return alone later) and I am begining to wonder if we will ride anything, but once we did it went pretty fast....

Here is how the day played out....

During the next several hours didn't do much at all, but for the life of me can't remember why....
Carousel of Progress
Hall of Presidents
Dinner at The Plaza
Took Mom to the bus stop so she could return to the resort
Then freedom to do as I wanted.... but only 2 hours to do it in!
Stitch's Great Escape
Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin
Space Mountain
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Splash Mountain again
Pirates of the Caribbean
then.... fighting the crowds to the bus back to the resort

Now what I wanted to do, but never had time to do...
Jungle Cruise
Liberty Square Riverboat
The Haunted Mansion (closed)
Tommowland Indy Speedway
Tommowland Transit Authority
Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor

Hopefully we be able to do these this year!
