View Full Version : Ground Beef - Pre-cooked vs. Cooked Weight?

A quick recipe-related question: does anyone know how much weight you lose after cooking ground beef? Say I started with 12 oz. raw and then before I could weigh it cooked, my loving dh (trying to be helpful) added all the other ingredients? ;)

I don't know for sure, but would certainly think it depends on the fat content of the meat. I no longer user "regular" hamburger, but I remember throwing away quite a bit of fat!
Aren't husbands great? ;) j/k - Mine is very helpful and a real gem . . . he just doesn't always help in the way I want something done.
