View Full Version : ADRs released as trip gets closer?

This will be my first trip with the Dining Plan in effect. (We won't be doing the dining plan, but I understand this is what fills up the restaurants.) Two months out, there were NO dinner reservations for Coral Reef. I was told Le Cellier books for dinner at least 3 months ahead of time, even in quieter seasons.

So imagine my surprise when I called on a fluke this morning about a character breakfast next Sunday morning and was able to get an 8:05 a.m. at Crystal Palace. Now, I know this isn't as hard to score as, say, Cinderella's Castle, but it was my understanding that character breakfasts were hard to book--especially early ones for people who want to get breakfast out of the way before the park officially opens.

Is there a reason for this? Did I just get lucky? Or is this just an easy ADR to get?

I'm thinking of trying my luck again at Coral Reef for dinner--although I'm currently happy with my ADR at Chefs De France. Opinions?

Probably just lucky...people modify/change their reservations all the time, so you just must of hit on it.

My guess is you got lucky and scored someone's cancellation.I made all my adrs for Sept in March. and am trying to tweak them a little and having NO luck. Most places are booked. You may score a Coral Reef ressie because people do cancel.I don't think they hold back tables till it gets closer to Sept, but I could be wrong.

Congrats, good luck, and don't forget to keep checking even after you get to DisneyWorld. I wasn't able to get an ADR for the California Grill before our trip the week before last, but after we arrived at CSR (on a Friday), when I went to the concierge desk to pick up our park passes, I asked the concierge if he could check on availability. He did, and we were able to get an ADR for Tuesday evening (too early to watch the fireworks, but it was still fun!) We also were able to get a last-minute lunch ADR (day before) for the Sci-Fi Drive-In place at HS...
