what is going on?

My family and I have stayed at the YC for the last 8 years. I called WDW 3x and of course got 3 different answers. I am having trouble securing our dates. Is something going on at the YC in late August. We had planned to split our 3 weeks with another hotel but I am have trouble getting an AP rate at all at the YC. Beach club has a lot of availability. We have had some disappointing encounters at the YC and are not thrilled with the villas using SAB but can't imagine not staying at the YC for a little while. Any Yacht Club addicts ever go to WDW and not stay there? Did it ruin your trip?

I called a good six months or more ago for YC over Labor Day Weekend. I had wanted concierge waterview, but had to settle for concierge standard view. I thought it was suprising that theyw ere sold out that far in advance. The only thing I can think is that a convention is holding a large block of rooms. Try 60 days out when the block will release (if that is the case).
