Has anyone called and received a good rate with the new room only DC code? If so, is it better then the Mickey Monitor rate?

I was quoted a DC room only rate that was $54.78 more/night than the Mickey Monitor rate I have booked. I was also told when I called last week that new room rates would be available on April 7th so I'm keeping my AP rate & will check back then.

I called this morning but the dates for the new room only dc code were 6/23 to 8/24. I'm going at the end of May, so I'm keeping my Mickey Monitor rates unless something better comes along.

I had ressies for 8/18 to 8/22 at the WL woods view with the mickey monitor rate for 758.00 including tax. With the new DC rate it's now 640.22. I also had mickey monitor rate for 8/22 to 8/24 at AKL savanna view for 474.00 inc tax. The new rate with DC is 455.98 inc tax. But I now have passes for either mini golf and wide world of sports which is a plus to the mickey monitor rate. Total savings of $135.00! :D

There is a new room only DC code for June-Aug? I went on today and only saw the new package deals that were announced. Did I miss it or is this another April Fools Joke? :D

It's not posted on the Disneyclub site. But Mary had it posted on her mousesavers site, the code she had does work. I believe it's for 6/25 to 8/24 or something like that.
I just called about 2 weeks ago and asked....thats what I got. Everything else was normal rates of $319.00 a night.

We have been Disney Club members for over a year and have yet to receive a "Mickey Monitor" what is that and why do you get information about special room rates in it? We are also Annual Pass holders and have a quick trip planned in May (16-20) and a week in August; I've booked a value and moderate resort during these two trips with the AP rate (room only). We're trying to economize on both trips since we usually only visit one a year. We bought annual passes last summer and they are burning a hole in our pockets! I would LOVE to find better rates but I guess I don't know where to look (I check Mousesavers daily for codes). Last year we got the All Star Music resort for only $49/night but this year it's going to cost us $70 per night plus tax which is still a great rate however; I'd love to find something even better :) Any advice?

For what dates did you get the $214 rate for?

I can't find a new code for room only on Mousesavers for summer rates. Is there one out and I'm missing it? I just rebooked today for 4 nites at the Poly for $221 a night with minigolf passes included using my Disney Club card. Does this rate sound good? It's for July 4th.

Ok, I think I see it. Is it the one that is for the "Basic Plan"? Does anyone know if it must be for a minimum of 3 nights or can you get it for just 1?
Barbnbrian, that rate sounds wonderful to me. Im going July 3(different season) and with the DC discount Im paying $334(including tax). Thats why Im looking for more of a discount.

I was quoted about $250 a night for Contemporary Tower. There are no wing rooms available for when I'm leaving. Is this a good rate. Right now I'm booked for POR for $104 a night. I was hoping for a summer rate of about $150 a night for a wing room, like last summer.

I just called again & used the "Room Only" code from Mousesavers (when I called earlier I was asked if I wanted room only or a package and I said room only - I didn't give a code) and this time was given a rate basically identical to my AP rate.
9 nights at GF for $2288.66 ($2356.56 with optional insurance)
My AP rate is $2301.00 ($12 more) so ...
for now, I'm still sticking with my AP rate as I don't have to pay the balance up front (with code, balance has to be paid 21 days prior to arrival).

If anyone else is wondering about my 3 day minimum question, the answer is... there is no minimum. Yay!
My DU agent emailed me and was able to save us an additional 73.94 on our one night at the Poly. This was in addition to the 40.00 DC discount we already had. So a total of 113.94 saved off of rack rate for 1 night. Im so excited!

eeyore1226 The Mickey Monitor is sent to AP holders. You did say you are an AP holder, so I'm not sure why you've never received it. It is a quarterly newsletter sent to AP holders detailing new rates and other AP perks. You can view it online, there was a link to it here on these boards somewhere. Try doing a search. Good luck!

Is there a way to find out the room only rate for a resort using the new codes without waiting on line to talk to a CM?

I called around dinnertime tonight to see what the room only code would be for a moderate during July. We currently have the AmEx code for a total of 1148 for 11 nights at the CBR. According the the CM the discount with the new code would work out to be exactly the same, so I just stuck with the AmEx code for now.

Has anyone gotten a wing room at the CR with the room only code? If you have, could you state the price. If it's available and a good price, I might change dates.
Thanks

SAB.....The $214 rate at Poly...what are your dates? And did this include tax?? If it is after July 4th then I think your discount is off the value rate.
But I am still curious......we are going in June and still looking for a better rate.
And since you called 2 weeks ago...what discount was this? AP??
LuvDisney......How many nights is this for?? If I figured right.....4 nights at WL and 2 nights AKL. That would make WL at $160/night and AKL $228/night. Is that right?
And did this price also include the $50 savings for being a DC member? and since you are at 2 resorts.....did they just discount you $50 or $100??
But still these are not as good as the other codes that were available for spring.
barbnbrian....Does that $221 include tax? And the $50 extra off because of DC ??
OK, so what I am seeing and what CRO quoted me.....It seems that these new rates are almost exactly the same as AP. Maybe slightly better for deluxes.....just by a few $$, and I think it is simply because of the value season and the extra $50 discount. But is that worth the hassle of changing ressies and paying upfront and having a cancellation policy of 45 days??
ALSO....do these prices include any travel insurance fees???
BUT....these still are not as good as the discounts that were availble with the newpaper or postcard codes.

Cindyfan,
The $50.00 off is for the full package, which includes UPH's, room and I think a pin. What I got is the room only, so the $50.00 dosen't apply. So far I havn't found anything better. I had the Mickey monitor rate (AP) for 8/18 to 8/22 at the WL woods view for $758.00 inc. tax and 8/22 to 8/24 at the AKL savanna view for $474.00 inc. tax. With the new discount same room views and time the WL went down to $640.22 inc. tax and AKL went to $455.98 inc. tax. This price also includes 4 passes to Wide World of Sports or Mini golf for each ressie for a total of 8 passes. We were planning on playing mini golf and possibly a trip to Wide World of Sports anyway. Now addmission is included. Sounds like a plus to me. :D Total savings over Mickey Monitor (AP) rate is $135.00 not including what I would have paid for the 4 of us to play mini golf and enter Wide World of Sports. Not sure of these costs, so I don't have the saving included in the above.

Buckysinn,
Thanks for letting me know. I guess I have to make some phone calls. I called DU yesterday, but my ta works at home. So I emailed her about room only pricing. I waited to hear. I just got home from work and there's an email from her with package pricing with the other code. I never even inquired about packages. Plus, I even gave the code for the room only. I guess I'll get back on the phone and make some calls myself. I was planning on leaving Aug 24, but I'll go a few days early if it means that kind of savings.

I just got a woods view room at the WL for $160/night, taxes included with the room-only DC code. This is for late July. It was about $30/night cheaper than the AP rate. AKL and Riverside were about $10 cheaper than AP rate.
I hope this is a good rate - have never booked WL before!!
