parking at WDW

Hi all,
First trip coming up this July! Could someone please tell me what is the parking situation for hotel guests? Do we pay, and can we drive around from place to place, or do we park at our hotel site?

It would help to know which resort you are staying at. The moderate and value resorts have free self parking. The deluxe resorts offer valet parking for $6 per day plus tips and free self parking.

There is free parking for all WDW resort guests at their hotels. Yes the deluxe has valet parking for $6 a day (even if you're staying there).

You can get free parking at the theme parks by showing your resort ID! You can park at other resorts, but you only get a 3 hour pass (unless you pay the $6 valet, then you can stay all day).

You shouldn't need to drive around much since WDW transportation can get you pretty much everywhere - not always very quickly or efficently, but it'll get you there.
