In this final chapter, I will try to entice you to join me and DGF on our next foray into the exciting world of Disney dining. Our next trip will be for 13 days in August, 10 of which will include the Deluxe Dining Plan! :cool1: That’s right folks 3 TS meals a day, everyday! :faint: Actually, we are spending quite a few of our TS credits on signature dining, so it’s going to be more like 2 TS a day, give or take. That makes for a record number of ADRs and a whole lot of eating!

Stand back!

Here’s our list of restaurants so far:
Wolfgang Puck Dining Room Upstairs
Fresh Mediterranean Market (L)
Artist Point
Garden View Lounge Afternoon Tea
‘Ohana (D)
Tokyo Dining (L)
Tutto Italia (D)
Yak & Yeti (L)
California Grill (Twice!)
Kona Café (B, L, & D)
Jiko
50’s Primetime Café (L)
The Plaza (L)
Citricos
Raglan Road (L)
Narcoossee’s
Le Cellier (L)
Flying Fish
Yachtsman Steakhouse
Coral Reef (L)

I will of course document all of this fine food and drink in photographs and writing right here on the DIS. And I promise not to procrastinate so long this time! :rolleyes1

I want to thank all of you again for being such a wonderful audience and bunch of commentators. I had a blast writing my 2nd dining review and an even greater time getting to know many of you! :goodvibes

* If you are interested in joining the book club that has been recently proposed on this thread, just make sure you post your interest here, if you haven’t already. (Or you can always drop me a PM!) Nothing is cemented yet, but with a little help from my friends, we may get this thing going in the near future. Details will be PM-ed to you when we got’em.

** If you are interested in joining the Foodie DIS meet tentatively scheduled for October of 2009, then read the paragraph above and substitute DIS meet for book club! :thumbsup2

Peace! :hippie:

I really enjoyed reading your posts. Even though I sat beside you while you wrote these reviews...you made me laugh out loud. It's fun to relive our food adventures through your zany and well-written threads...except for the pictures of me looking like a fully cracked nutter  ! I can't wait for August! We must read The Host and discuss. Everyday is an adventure with you.

I heart you. :flower3:

I thought both Fresh and the Afternoon Tea weren't on the Deluxe DDP. I am assuming you'll pay out of pocket.

I am so looking forward to the next food reviews. I'm doing deluxe for Free Dining when I go for 5 days/4 nights on August 29-Sept 2 with my foodie mom. I'm a super procrastinator with my food reviews so that August one won't be up until December :rotfl:

I went in June of last year with my DFi for our anniversary, we were on the DDP, and I did take pics of pretty much everything. Well, it is now June 2, almost a year to the date of our trip and I have yet to write it up!

I just finished the last book - yes, I read non-stop for four days - and I am hoooooooked!!! :hyper: Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for the recommendation....and introducing me to Edward - aaahhh....and I would love to participate in the book club, if I may! :flower3:

I don't think you can go wrong with the original! :thumbsup2 Sauce on the side is always a safe bet.

It was pretty warm today. We had such a nice cool spring that I think I started to take it for granted!

The BlueZoo pics & descriptions were awesome! The crab looked great, as did the Fish, although I sure didn't see anything Simple about it!

I'm sad that the review is over. But Woohoo:cool1: we'll be treated to another one very soon! That's a great dining line-up you have there!

I'm in for a book club, but because I'm cheap would prefer to do paperbacks over brand new hardbounds. Either way though, I'd like to get in on it.

I'm also in for a foodie meet in Oct 09!

I'm like many of our greedy readers here. I'm really bad when I find a book that I love. I'll go through that sucker in a day or two & if it's a series, I'm in trouble. Lately, I haven't been feeling well & having to take lunesta to sleep, which luckily curbs my speed-reading. I spend more on meds but less on books.

First of all ... I've been slacking on the PM for the bookclub ... had a visit from the Crohn Goblin last night and it's been a very icky day at work. TMI? :lmao:

Anyhoo, I want to check out a couple of features in Yahoo because I think we can set it up for a live chat and I know that we can set up a calendar that will email people reminders. And ... I thought we might be able to have a little more freedom of discussion there as opposed to the CB here. Not knocking the DIS, but there are certain subjects or interpretations that might not be considered appropriate here. And I hate having to censor myself ... as that last sentence should show! :rotfl2:

As for a non-hardback reading suggestion ... how about starting out with a tried and true like Rebecca or The Secret Diary of Anne Boleyn?

Just thinking out loud ... kind of.

leaving to go home now .. :cool1:

Hmm, looks like I've stumbled upon the 2009 Foodies trip, too. Those dates are lookin' mighty good to me.

Ditto! Hey my b-day is in November, so that is kind of close to all of you Libras. I think you need some Scorpios like me to show you how much fun it is to be unbalanced.:rotfl2:

Rosa Regale and chocolate. Two of the best things in the universe! Throw in some crab-legs and you would have the food trifecta!

I think Rebecca is a great idea. We could even co-lead the first discussion. :goodvibes I also agree about the need for an independent discussion forum.

If you'll set up the Yahoo group (let me know if I can help in that respect), I will PM everyone to let them know the details.

Hi, I've been lurking on here for a while and finally decided to post as the book club sounds like a great idea. Will it be a problem me being in the UK? I think we tend to have books published over here around the same time as the US. A transatlantic book club would be kinda cool don't you think.

I must congratulate you on your food reviews - they are fantastic. I am even thinking of doing one myself when we go again in Aug 2009.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but this is to Brenda (Oybolshoi). Your food reviews got me addicted to this board (I usually only hang out on the UK boards) and I have now started reading your blog. I hope Planky is doing ok - is he back from his trip yet? Maybe he could join the book club as well as I think the injection of clulture would help him in his future endeavours!!

I have made it through to page 6!!! :cool1: Your reviews are amazing! What a great group you also have following along!

We are leaving in about 3 weeks so I'll be taking pics to review Raglan Rd (my fav), La Nouba/House of Blues (for our 1 year anniversary), Blue Zoo, Cape May breakfast and Yak and Yeti lunch.

I just added Y&Y yesterday based on your review and pics and also my DS10 asked to go to Nine Dragons yesterday (this is a must for my guys since they love Chinese food) and it will be closed when we go. Y&Y seems close enough food wise.

I'll have to check these out...I just started the Harry Potter series. I am going to read the first book, then have my son read it. I think it will be fun for us. Then we will watch the movies since we have never seen them. I thought this would be a nice motivator since DS needs to improve on his reading.

OK, the dog is barking and DH is growling...be back later to start reading again.

Have a great day!
Hey Lauren! When you go to Y&Y stop at the bar and ask for Chad! He's half of my sweetie tem that relocated there after the storm. He and Michael both work there- but I've only found Chad (A bartender, of course!) working. Tell him Lori said hi:yay:

Unfortunately with DS's baseball I haven't had time to even read the newspaper in the last 4 years. I did, however, buy a book for the first time in ages, just two weeks ago, which will probably take me 6 months to read.;)

Kathy, you and Sheryl both might like a series that I love (it's my book smut-Rick's term, not mine). Relatively light reading but very entertaining- Elizabeth Peters, author. Amelia Peabody, series. Strong female character, good humor, mystery-ish. If you wanna try let me know I have them all in paperback (there's 12ish), I'll loan ya one.

Oh, and sign me up for the meet and the club!

Sorry I'm late to this party but I've been avoiding the food reviews lately, due to trying to lose 40 lbs. Dieting and reading food reviews is way too masochistic for me ;)

Anyway, thanks Kathy for sending me the link - unfortunately, I didn't manage to avoid the reviews and just read the bit about the meet in October 09 -so let me just say the reviews were great as usual and, as I suspected, have made me extremely hungry. Weight Watchers may have to take a back seat for today :rotfl:

Secondly, I am so there for an October 09 meet. DH and I have just recently decided to take the brats (sorry, kids) back to the World next year. We're there from the 19th until the end of the month (geez, that sounds good :thumbsup2 ) I can't wait to meet up with some fellow foodies - and drinkers ;) Oh, and on my way through your reviews, I couldn't help but notice this offer from Brenda, which I'm sure we would all love to take her up on:

thanks Honeybee for letting me steal your thread for a minute. If we ever end up at WDW at the same time Jay and I will buy a round of Kirs. :thumbsup2

Just let me know when and where and I'm in :)

Hi Joh! We can't afford to spring for a round of Kirs for everyone ... but we could spring for a bottle of bubbly and some straws. :lmao: Now that I think about it, way back when I believe I said I would spring for a Kahlua Colada from HRC for you ... but we'll worry about that next year. ;)

I'll start a DIS thread for the 2009 meet after F&W is done for this year ... wouldn't want to confuse anyone. And that way everyone who's interested can post there and we can try to keep track of who's coming ... yadda yadda yadda.

Thanks again Honeybee, for letting us use your thread for book discussions, cheese love, and DISmeets!

And let me just say....I hate it! I was genetically predisposed to eat, drink, and be chubby! Dieting goes against my nature.....

No problemo! ;)

It wouldn't be a party without you!!!;)

TigerKat...I miss you now that my review is over and I don't get to talk to you all the time!

I've been gone forever, but I finally finished your reviews. Great as always!

Also, I broke down and bought Eclipse. *grumble* Bella is still a moron. That's all I gotta say. And those wedding invitations sounded tacky...

Yeah, ok, I read it in two sittings. *sigh*

Anyway! I'd love to join a book club if you guys get one going!

Yes but the important question is...Are you on team Edward or team Jacob?

Thanks again for reading and for all your great comments. I sent you a PM about the book club!

Honeybee ...

I just bought me a copy of Poisonwood Bible ... I also bought a copy of Earth Abides. Now I've got plenty to hold me over until we start talking Rebecca.

Hi Brenda! I feel a little out of touch. It's been a rough couple of weeks. We had to call in hospice for my grandma a few days ago. :sad1:

But on a positive note, I've been thoroughly enjoying my re-read of Rebecca, and I just looked in on the book club today. You raised some great "food" for thought and future discussion. Maybe one week we can talk about character and setting (Manderley) and the next week we can talk about gender issues, etc. I still want to give a little intro to the book and author either on or before or 1st discussion.

I'm excited about Poisonwood Bible too! :goodvibes It is such a rich and fascinating novel. Barbara Kingsolver rocks my world!

Hugs for you ... Not an easy thing to go through. And it seems like a lot of folks are dealing with that right now. A friend of mine here at work is dealing with the serious illness of his 93-year-old great-grandmother and I'm going through the same with my 92-year-old great aunt. It looks like there's a lot of funeral leave coming up in the next week or two. :(

I think discussing the book the way you just suggested is great - that way we can all focus on a specific aspect and still allow the discussion to move the way everyone wants it to.

Looking forward to Poisonwood Bible ... just on your recommendation and the review at Amazon (I needed another item to qualify for free shipping so this was it!).

Hugs much needed. Sorry to hear about your aunt. Heather's favorite aunt died this past weekend of cancer as well, so we were really socked a double whammy! Good time for a karmic break, Universe, if you're listening....:rolleyes1

It looks like Poisonwood Bible is ahead in the next book poll (by 1 vote, so not a huge margin), but not everyone has voted yet. And no one has suggested any other books. :confused3 Maybe another reminder is in order!
